I have reviewed the response submitted by the business and have determined that the response does not satisfy or resolve my issues and/or concerns in reference to complaint # ***Please add your rejection comments below.
This in response to a response from the company Beaver Brothers Landscaping, LLCThis company was contacted by Mr*** *** - however he did not contact them until he went back to Florida as he was disillusioned with my efforts to do with the lawn at the house in Maine ( * *** *** *** ).I stayed on at the house for a few months more - at least until the end of October and never once did anyone show up to view the property or measure that I saw Surely if I had seen a car in the driveway, I would have inquired who it was No one knocked on the door to announce of their intent to visit and measure for an estimate The sprinklers had been kept off during our summer - as there were a lot of rainy days and we did not see the point in watering weeds Of course at that time, we were unaware that weeds do best in an lawn that is devoid of water, as that was long before we became aware of some issues. However, this response from this Beaver Brosis completely false We had never any intention of putting our sprinkler system on Mr*** even made the man that he spoke to aware of this fact It was rather the guy on the phone who kept telling Jim that he thought it was going to rain I was not involved in the decision making process - however my husband is an year old man, who was anxious to get something done, and felt he was going to try to do this without my help He did and was fully taken advantage of He was taken advantage of, because an honest company would have said upfront to an elderly person - 'if you have no irrigation on, you would be throwing your money away by hiring us to hyrdoseed your lawn." Jim was not fully aware of what is required when hydroseeding a lawn - he was led to believe that there was a good chance that things would turn out well.It was not until I arrived at the house in Maine, in late June was it completely evident that nothing had happened during our absence I seriously doubt that there was any hydroseeding that took place at all - though if Beaver Brosstate that they did come out in our absence, I can't call them liars, but I'm just saying - to look at the property at the end of June 2016, when I arrived, there was no evidence of anything other than an abundance of weeds We had a company that had been 'taking care" of the property prior to our departure - he was basically mowing weeds is all I let him go, once Jim advised me that he had hired a company to come out and take care of the lawn and perform the hyrdoseed I then rehired the guy to come back and do a spring clean up - his efforts were slim - but I have evidence of having paid this other company for spring clean up - so this Beaver Brosto make such a statement as we did not have any spring clean up is clearly wrong The problem has been - is that we are rarely at the property in Maine as it was and always had been a seasonal residence for us and trying to oversee what landscape people have been doing or not doing in our absence has been one of the biggest challenges we'd faced However, what occurred with this Beaver Broswas by far the worst experience The lawn is now, looking quite nice, I've had to go to great lengths to oversee this venture and have learned a lot since then The main thing is - - - we would never have hired any company to come in and perform hydroseed if the company would have advised us that there was no way anything would grow if the irrigation system was not working It was never an option for us as we have never been full-time residents at the house in Maine and we are always gone by mid-October regardless of what year it is The irrigation system has to be accessed through the garage and down in the basement the valves have to be turned off - as we winterize the irrigation system so the pipes do not freeze As a result, it's not like we refused to put the irrigation system on - it simply was never intended to be on, ever Why this company would offer to take Mr***'s money is so very wrong - clearly it was a form of taking advantage of an elderly person who is unaware As I stated, had I been involved in this venture - I would have not hired them to begin with - as I would have asked enough questions and sought answers that would have allowed me to conclude that hiring this company, at that particular time, so late in the season knowing full well that we don't reside there - was a huge waste of time and money Other companies who offer this type of service - have visited the house in July and stated to me personally, that it did not appear as though the lawn was ever hydroseeded - not any of it I don't know how much Beaver Broscharged for their "service" as my husband has refused to tell me, however various landscape professionals have advised me that there was no evidence of any hydroseeding taking place, at the property Further, during the time that I've been at the house since June - this company claims that they came out to the house and were here for hours in order to assess the situation and has been trying to charge Jim additional monies for their alleged house visit Unbeknownst to them, I was here on the dates that they say they came out and no one ever came to this house - there was no vehicle and no persons in my driveway and it surely would have not taken hours to assess anything back then in June and July - as one side has only dirt and a few weeds and the entire front lawn was overgrown with weeds at that time and the other side and back, were a combination of weeds and a little bit of grass Mrs*** ***

Greencare is a business founded on the value of hard work and integrity.  Our clients are good folks that have been doing business with us for years.  This has been accomplished by doing right by them, and taking responsibility for the care of their personal properties as if they were our own.  We operate on the principle that our clients are the most important part of the business, and we are privileged to have earned their trust and that of their friends and family.  We have come to see our clients as family, we would (and often do) see that they are rightfully cared-for and safeguarded just as we would our own.Mr. and Mrs. [redacted] seem to believe we have abandoned our core principles solely for the duration of our work on their property. To clarify the service that Mr. and Mrs. [redacted] feel is the cause of this complaint: this was an application of hydroseed to 10,101 square feet at their property in Falmouth, ME.  This was billed out (consistent with all of our hydroseed projects), at $.07 (seven cents) per square foot.  The application itself took about two hours, and was performed by the company president and a second experienced individual.  Mr. and Mrs. [redacted] are accusing Greencare of a premeditated plot to fabricate only two hours’ worth of work on a Tuesday in September 2015.With regard to the watering instructions we provided to Mr. and Mrs. [redacted], we agree with the statement made by Mrs. [redacted]:  We did offer to adjust their irrigation to the appropriate watering schedule. However this offer was refused by Mr. [redacted] due to the fact that their irrigation system was not currently activated and they had no intention of activating it for the recently seeded lawn that we provided, despite our urging them to do so. The watering instructions (which were left on the front door) also provided information on manual watering. These instructions were also plainly disregarded by the [redacted]s.  This is evident in the lack of growth they saw after their property was hydroseeded by Greencare. To be clear: all types of grass seed, installed by any application method - whether hand-seeded or hydroseeded - require water to survive. This is common knowledge.  The necessity of regular watering was communicated to Mr. [redacted] via telephone before Greencare left the property on the day it was serviced. Mrs. [redacted]’s assertion that we actively ‘took-advantage’ of her and her husband is not only completely false, but also wholly offensive to us.  Greencare has a large portion of elderly clients, and we do our utmost to see they they are properly taken care of.  The mere suggestion that we would engage in any sort of elder-abuse is not only contradictory to our entire philosophy but also stands in direct opposition to our history of going above-and-beyond for ALL of our clients.  A random sampling of any of our clients at any time will confirm this. From the very beginning of our interactions with the [redacted]’s, all communication had been done over the phone.  We never met Mr. [redacted] in person, so his status as an elderly gentleman of 82 years is news to us and would never hold any bearing on how we provide services to any of our clients. Mrs. [redacted]’s additional assertion that we charged them for a service that was never performed, is false.  This claim was apparently made by ‘other companies’ who claimed they could see no evidence that anything had ever been hydroseeded.  Their inspection came, according to Mrs. [redacted], approximately 9 months after hydroseed was provided by Greencare, and subsequently neglected by Mr. and Mrs. [redacted]. The organic material (hydraulic mulch, grass seed, and fertilizer) would simply have been absorbed into the soil weeks following the application if germination had never taken place.  In the case of the [redacted]’s lawn, there was no watering and so there was no germination.  Any and all physical remains would have been completely decomposed months before any inspection made by a reputable service-provider.  To state that nothing had been done based on an observation made nearly a year later is a ridiculous argument to make. In fact, we hydroseeded a neighbor’s property at the same time with the exact same mixture and it has come in beautifully. Greencare is a company that was founded on solid ethics and hard work.  We are not in the habit of lying to anyone about work we propose or that we provide.  We hold ourselves to a higher standard of integrity than many of our competitors, and would never abide the type of behavior in which Mrs. [redacted] is accusing is us of engaging.  The only thing more precious to us than our clients is our integrity, and we wholeheartedly protect both. Our decision to decline the opportunity to work again with the [redacted]’s stands.  It is clear to us that they expect results without having to take any of their own personal responsibility, and will respond with defamatory accusations and falsehoods when their unreasonable demands are no
