On November 7th, 2014 I went to purchase a television stand/ entertainment center at Greenland upon which an employee of the store proceeded to show me a few items in a catalog and ensured me that I would be receiving my item/goods in two weeks time. However after two weeks have passed I called and I was told the manufacturing of that item has seized, they then suggested that I choose something else. So my husband went to choose a next item, upon which I was told I would receive this item in one week time. One week has passed and I had to call back the Greenland Furniture company and was told then that the item was still not there and I should come in. When I went in I was told the item was still not there, and they would have to order it from another state and would take another week. I decided I needed back a refund. he then decided I cannot get back my complete money I would have to wait until the item comes to the store, he began arguing with me and then said he would give me a refund but I would not get back all of my money. I paid $100 on the item and was refunded $67 and he kept $33 for what reason I don't know and could not give me an explanation why I couldn't get all my money back. I need back the balance.Desired SettlementI would just like a complete refund of my moneyBusiness Response Actually my name is [redacted] I am the store manager and I am the one who had to deal with this lady.her first comments were right, the company didn't have an item so her husband chose another one, we usually tell our customers that it takes around 2 weeks could be more or less to get their merchandise, well in this case a week after her husband ordered the new piece she came wanting her money back because we haven't recieved it yet, well I explained to her that it is already inside a container coming from the California warehouse and should be here any day soon , in less than a week, and I told her because it's already inside the container we will charge 20% which is less than the shippment to here charges because it was already on it's way. I also showed her the displayed store policy confirming my point. I am not gonna add much, but because of the way how she acted here we would like not to visit us again although her husband is very polite he will always be welcome here. Consumer Response (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)First and foremost I was never shown any store policy by anyone and second my first encounter at the store was with an employee of the store not the owner [redacted] as he says his name is. My husband went there on a Saturday and was told that the coming Friday of the next week after choosing the same item I had initially chosen just in a different color (the same one that they said had stop being made) he would have received it which was one week not two weeks. I called before asking about the item and an employee demand I come into the store I asked why he said I just need to come into the store.cause I am not getting back any money and slam down the phone in my ears. The [redacted] man was very rude and boisterous. I had chosen the item out of a book and no one had told me about any store policy or any shipment or any cost I had to pay for and all of a sudden when I went to the store demanding back my money that's when he told me it was in another state and if I didn't wait until it comes I would lose money and that he was going to send for it in a container, what is he to do with it now that it is coming. I told him that there was a reason I wanted it before a certain time. So I told him I just want back my money that is when he started arguing and saying you will not getting back all of you money and started arguing in his language to other employees about me then told me to read the wall the store policy is there they don't refund money. no one said or explain any of these things to me. this man is lying! after a heated argument that's when all of this came up. he has been lying from day one because the item I initially ordered I was told its not being made anymore and then my husband went back and it was the same item just different color and went as far as saying about I was the first black woman to come to his store and behave like that. telling me to pay for a item that I don't even know that exist! all I want is my money. if this will pose a problem I will contact my lawyer because this is getting out of hand and he is very rude!!! myself nor my husband will not be visiting there store again unless its with my lawyer. just giving you a heads up. I don't know why I should be paying for shipment for something he says they sell and says he was going to send for to sell to me not about any container or any payment for shipment. if that was the case I would have done so on an online store, there would have been no point for his store.

on [redacted] I went to this funiture store who offer me 90 days no interest on a bedroom set, and after that they will charge an interest rate of 22%...they ask to singn and check a box on a computer that was supposed to be my credict check, them they told me I was approof never show mw the contract' cause is was gonna be mail to me. when I got the contract it is NOT WHAT THEY SAY IT WAS GONNA BE.. NOW THEY CHARGING ME 100% INTERST RATE IN A 1 YEAR PERIOD.. IS ABSOLUTLY RIDICULUS... CONTACTED THE BANCK AND S NOT offering much... so the finance balance was [redacted] anf after been paying for 4 month they saying I still have a payment off balance of $ over [redacted] shouldnt be[redacted] people just like that.Product_Or_Service: bed room setAccount_Number: XXXXXXXDesired Settlementi should get the initial RPR offer as sales rep. discribeBusiness Response Dear Sir/ Madame,in response to this complaint, we the employees here at GREENDALE FURNITURE at all time do recommend our customers to pay the full financed amount within the 90 days, this way they pay nothing towards the interest, so there is no way that we didn't recommend the complainant to do that. besides this is a lease to own company that we deal with called [redacted] and it's very well known nationwide, also once a customer gets approved by them they rcieve an e mail and a phone number along with a reference number. we do encourage our customers not to use finance companies but sometimes it is convenient to the customer because finance companies do charge us a percentage each time any of our customers uses their services. customers usually read and sign the contract, and as we mentioned if the full balance is paid within 90 days there will be no interest charges, the only charge would be the [redacted] charge to the customer for paper processing or so by [redacted] once the customer uses any amount for the lease.
