Hello,
This customer came into our store on a Saturday morningHe asked about a reclaimed wood product and our employee explained how it was soldHe explained that it's sold $per linear foot and all of the pieces come in random lengthsThe customer mentioned that he spoke to someone a couple
of days prior and that they said the wood was $eachThe employee apologized for the simple miscommunication over the phone and again explained that the wood comes in several different sizes and lengths and that it was $per linear footThis was not a satisfactory explanation for the customerHe became visibly angry, began to raise his voice, and was very rude to our employeeOur manager at the time stepped in to help resolve the situationThe customer was again very rude and angryHe left shortly thereafterHe then returned minutes later, driving at a high rate of speed into our parking lot (witnessed by myself)I had already heard of the altercation so I knew the customer was going to be upsetHe asked to speak to me so I approached him very carefullyAt this time I explained to him that he spoke to another one of the owners on the phone a couple of days prior so I know it was a simple miscommunication, rather than us telling him one thing and then changing our price as he was at our store, as he was claimingHe then said things like "are you calling me a liar" and "this is a bait and switch"He was clearly upset and starting to raise his voiceI asked if he wanted to go outside to finish the conversation to try and remove him from our storeHe was making everyone around very uncomfortable and causing a sceneHe then said "are you worried about your reputation?"At this time I knew that we were not going to come to a mutual resolutionAfter we got outside, I told the customer that he was being unreasonable and that we would rather not do business him at this timeHe mentioned that he would leave a complaint with the Revdex.com and I said "that would be ridiculous"
I would also like to point out that our website is unchanged and that it simply says $It does not say $each and also says in the title that it comes in random lengthsOne of the reasons that it simply says $is that our site does not allow letters like LF (linear foot) in the price category unless we override with a price maskI also explained this to the customer but this was also unsatisfactory for himI'm not sure how someone would come to the conclusion that pieces of all lengths would be $eachFor this reason, after thinking about the whole situation, I feel as though this customer might have come in with an intention to try and purchase something for a lesser cost and that his angle was premeditated. We are extremely customer service based here at our storeWe pride ourselves on our service, even when there are the occasional miscommunicationsIt's what separates us from our competitionWe are an honest business looking to do business with honest people.
