Called them last November to winterize the sprinkler system; they came two days later and supposedly did their work Now spring is here and my husband went to turn on the sprinkler and found the ball valve was cracked The house has been vacant during this time and no one has been to the basement I called up the company about the issue; their response was they did whatever they do everywhere else without issue so they didn't do anything wrong Then they quoted me $to repair it without discount
Complaint: [redacted]
I am rejecting this response because Greenlife took no responsibility of the issue. They claimed someone closed the boiler drain but that's not true. No one has access to the house and the house has been vacant. Greenlife made that claim without any basis. Greenlife is not behaving professionally. They never said anything about the setup of the sprinkler system being wrong when they came to winterize or when I called them about the cracked valve issue. Now I'm reporting my issue to Revdex.com; they retaliate by complaining that the sprinkler system was not built to code and notifying the building department.
Sincerely,

In addition to the response we have already made we would like to add that our service technician left the hose bib (boiler drain) at the very bottom of the plumbing coming out of the house OPEN when he was through winterizing. Any water after our company left their property whether turned on in the...
basement or leaked back into the system from a gate valve in the basement that no longer held the water completely back from re entering the system would have run out the hose bib and not allowed the water to fill back up and freeze the valve. Someone closed the boiler drain while we were still getting below freezing temperatures. Greenlife does NOT go back after wintering a system and close these valves until we go back in the spring to re activate the system nor can we be responsible for someone else coming along after we leave from closing it. This complainants sprinkler system was NOT installed by our company they called us to take it over from whoever did install it. The town of Fairfield requires a permit for sprinkler installation. No permit was obtained by the installing contractor. The back flow preventor used in their system is not up to code. A Vacum breaker was used when in fact a reduced pressure back flow costing several hundred dollars more is the code. We are notifying the building department of these violations.
