Greenville Auto World Reviews (2)

This complaint is about a vehicle I bought February 17, 2016. Advertised as low mileage and only one owner, which was falsely advertised. I purchased a 2004 Acura TL on 2/17/2016 at Greenville Auto World. I only put a one thousand dollar down payment on the car and no car-fax was shown. Instead the salesmen insisted to tell me that the car only had one owner which was not true. The following day I noticed that my vehicle was pulling to the right extremely bad. I called them to inform them about the car pulling to the right and they made an appointment the next week for an alignment. I dropped the car off and went to pick it up to find out the problem had not been fixed (pulling to the right). The mechanic proceeded to tell me that he thought I had told him it was pulling to the left. Every week since I've had the car I had to go across town to drop it off for an alignment. I took it to Greenville Auto World more than 4 times after that. The last time I took it there I dropped it off at 7:40AM and received no phone call during the day to notify me about the status of my car. I dropped it off that time because he claimed the problem was a bent rim. So he ordered a new rim and replaced it. I then returned there around 4:00PM because no one had called me. When I arrived the mechanic was chatting on the phone and when I walked in I noticed that my car keys were just sitting on the counter, and the receptionist did not greet me. She walked out to tell the mechanic I was there. Then she came back inside and told me he would be inside in just a moment. The mechanic took my keys and took it for a test drive. When he came back he told me that my car was still pulling to the right even with a new rim and tire. I then asked him if he thought there might be something else wrong with the car. He proceeded to tell me that the places he took my car he did not trust and he wanted me to take it to a place of my choice to get it looked it. The next day I took it to the Greenville Toyota dealership and they told me that my frame was bent. Toyota also showed me paperwork showing that the car had never been aligned. I left there and went back to Greenville Auto Word and then they finally showed me the car-fax. I asked the mechanic if I could see documentation for the times they took my car to get an alignment and he told me he did not have any kind of documentation. After looking at the car-fax the car was involved in an accident and was totaled. It also had two previous owners before me(Like I stated before the car salesmen told me the last owner was the first owner and that he bought the car back in 2004). I told the owner of Greenville Auto World that I either wanted another car or my down payment money back. Currently they are in the process of finding me a vehicle. Since then I have been driving around with a car that has a salvage title for almost three months now. The owner of Greenville Auto World said he goes to an auction twice a week or maybe a little more and that he comes back with either trucks or something that is not in my payment range.Desired SettlementIf I do not get another vehicle soon I want my down payment money back in cash. Business Response Contact Name and Title: [redacted]Contact Phone: XXX-XXX-XXXXContact Email: [redacted]@aol.comRevdex.com CASE#: XXXXXXXXOur dealership sold an 2004 Acura Acura TL to the complainant's father on 02/17/2016(less than 2 months ago). I've got a copy of the title and it's not a salvage title). The customer did put $1,000 down payment. The purchasers daughter called the next day to inform us the car was pulling to the right. We took the car to have it aligned. We installed 2 new tires and 1 rim (rim was bent). This was at no cost to customer. There was still an issue with the car was pulling to right. We asked the customer to take the car to where he worked, Greenville Toyota. Greenville Toyota's report (Invoice# TOCSXXXXXX)-work completed 03/18/2016)-checked and adjusted alignment, mount and balanced 3 tires and needs right front lower control arm. Greenville Auto World paid for the front end to be checked. When the statement came in a $68.65 oil change was added to our bill, in which we didn't authorized. We've got paperwork where we had the car aligned (Work was performed on 02/26/2016 by Service One in Greenville, N.C. The customers (Father and daughter) came back to our dealership saying the car was pulling to the right. A Car Fax was printed on 03/18/2016 showing our customer was the third owner. At this point I offered the customer's money back and the daughter said she wanted another car. The down payment was offered back to the customer. So we made an agreement to find the customer another car around the same price range. We also agreed the customer didn't have to make her first at all, payment due (03/18/2016). We're in the process of trying to find another car for the customer. We made an verbal agreement 04/13/2016 that if we couldn't find another vehicle in 2 weeks, our company will give the down payment back. The customer (father) said that we've been more than fair in the transactions. Both the daughter and father have been patience and courteous during the process.

Vehicle was advertised on [redacted] as good condition, no mention of mechanical issues. Also items described as included in deal were not included.1987 Samuari was purchased for $6500 on [redacted]. Description was showing professional body work and air conditioner equipment not finished. In speaking to the vendor he said he would include it with the vehicle. Ad says was tuned up, runs and drives great. [redacted] No mention of mechanical issues in advertisement. In speaking to the vender on several occasions we had an opportunity to ask about the mechanical state of the vehicle and it was described as good. We had the vehicle delivered to [redacted] and had trouble starting. Mechanic told us could be poor compression in motor. Vendor said all Samurai vehicles are like this, that is why we need the choke. Upon driving home 4 hours from delivery point oil was leaking badly, vehicle smelled like burning rubber. People who had the vehicle parked in drive way complained of large oil spot on driveway. The Samurai required 4 quarts of oil to make it home. Brought to shop immediately and both front and rear engine seals were leaking motor was removed to find that there was a hole on side of piston. Motor had to be rebuilt. When oil was removed from transmission watery oil came out with pieces of the gears. Transmission was removed and transmission shop says not worth rebuilding should purchase a different rebuilt transmission. According to vehicle ad the air-conditioning compressor was not installed, but the vendor insisted that he would include it so we could install. The Bow supports for soft top were also not included the the top could not go on the vehicle. We paid the vendor extra because of his assurance of the quality of all aspects of this vehicle. We felt that he could be trusted because of his excellent Revdex.com rating and [redacted] rating. This vehicle will cost several thousand dollars to make road worthy and we are concerned not only for our losses but if this is not dealt with others could be taken advantage of as well. We have emailed our concerns to the vendor and have not had a response. There are several other issues with the vehicle that were not disclosed, we are ok with small issues because we understand this is a used vehicle.Desired SettlementWe would like the vendor to send us the missing parts:1. Air conditioning components 2. Bow support for the topWe would like the vendor to cover the cost of the engine and transmission repairs since they were described to us as fine during several conversations. Also no mention of any issues in ad. 1. Motor overhaul, motor had 2 leaking seals and hole in side of piston2. Rebuilt transmission, transmission had water in it, bearings were shot and gears not repairable.
