Greenville Motor Company Reviews (1)

I brought car in for head gasket repair and was told that it was the intake and was charged $600. I had to bring the vehicle 3 days later.I brought a car purchased from Greenville Motor Company and returned it for repair on the head gasket. I specifically told them that the problem was the head gasket. was told that they had a second opinion and that the problem was the intake and was placed on a payment plan for $805. Three days later I had to call them because the vehicle was having the same issue and was now not able to be driven. They charged me approximately $60 for them to come and pick up the car that they serviced 3 days ago. When I get there, now I'm told that yes it's the head gasket and that they need to order me a motor. I questioned whether I needed to still pay for so-called repairs that they did that did not correct the problem and was told that yes you signed the paper. I asked about a rental or for a replacement vehicle to drive while they are servicing my vehicle and was told that they do not offer such service. One would think that this business would act in good faith as I told them what was wrong with the vehicle when I first brought it in and they didn't even check for that, supposedly fixed something that was not the issue resulting in me bringing the vehicle back and still being inconvenienced without transportation. Greenville Motor Company is not trustworthy as they were trying not to order a motor from the start at my expense. I should not be held accountable in any way for repairs that I didn't ask for; especially since I told them that the problem was the head gasket in the beginning. Additionally, after the poor customer service and them trying to get out of spending money out of pocket for a motor, they should provide me with alternate transportation as I am having to go from independent to dependent on others for rides to and from work. Regardless as to whether this is a buy here pay here or dealership, they should not be allowed to treat customers this way. It is unethical. I truly believe that if I was a white male rather than a young black american, that I would not be treated this way. Greenville Motor Company was trying to avoid ordering a motor because the warranty was soon to run out as I'm close to making my last payment on the vehicle. Desired SettlementThe settlement that I am seeking is for Greenville Motor Company to eat up the cost of the repairs that they made me sign a payment plan for in the amount of $805 and for them to provide me with alternate transportation while they are repairing my vehicle. I have been without transportation since 8-25-2014 and am told that they need to order this motor. Business Response First of all let me say that people wanting something for nothing in the world drive me crazy. This entire complaint has not been filed by [redacted] it was filed by his Aunt without his knowledge. That is what he told [redacted] when [redacted] asked him. That is why [redacted] asked to have it removed because it was all incorrect and slander. Now, for the real story. Mr. [redacted] vehicle broke down on a Sunday evening as I was about to leave for an auto auction in Maryland. My personal cell number is listed for emergency towing so I helped him decide what to do with his car and who to call Monday morning so the service department could check it out. When the shop checked his vehicle they found that the Intake gaskets were leaking and allowing coolant to enter the engine oil. This is a common problem on [redacted] and [redacted]. Lots of people automatically think that the head gasket is blown when indeed it is the intake gaskets. I had the shop do a head gasket chemical test to be sure that the intake was the only leak and it passed. We decided based on Mr. [redacted] description of the problem that it sounded like he had not driven it far like that. We did the intake gasket job at a significantly lower than normal price. Mr. [redacted] did not have the money to pay so the sales department made the decision to pay his bill and apply it to a shop/tag bill on his account and allow him to pay extra on it monthly. They only did this because he was such a good customer. When the intake gasket job was done the car was running great. We changed the oil many times before giving it back to Mr. [redacted] to ensure that any and all water that was in the crankcase was out. In approximately 3 days Mr. [redacted] motor developed a bearing knock. This happens when too much water has been in a crankcase. Unfortunately there is nothing else to do but change the motor. Now, two important things here. One, this comes from driving it with water in the oil and two, bearing knocks are undetectable until they happen. Now, back in April Mr. [redacted] came in for his FREE LLG oil change and was notified that he had been exactly 4,712 miles between oil changes. That means that he was 1,712 miles over due. The conditions of our LLG state that oil changes must be performed with 500 miles of the 3,000 interval or the LLG is voided. As of this date the LLG was voided and noted on his account. Now, another exception was made and I agreed to replace Mr. [redacted] motor free of charge even after this infraction. Then I received the complaint from the Revdex.com. I do not have time for silly complaints that are not correct. We have been nothing but helpful and honest with each and every one of our sales customers and our service customers. We are a Christian business and pride ourselves in being upfront and honest at all times in everything we do. I take it personal when someone says otherwise. I had [redacted] call Mr. [redacted] and ask him about the complaint. He was shocked....he said he did not do it and he was going to get to the bottom of it and have it removed. He later called back and informed us that his Aunt had falsely done it in his name. This was the same Aunt who had called cursing at my employees earlier that same day. Now, [redacted] did as I instructed and let Mr. [redacted] know that since I was bending over backwards to help him and making exceptions for him that I wanted the complaint removed so I would not have to waste my time to correct a false claim. And here we are.......today......me wasting my time correcting a false claim. Furthermore, Mr. [redacted] came in Saturday and paid [redacted] in our service department $15.95 to rotate his aftermarket wheels off the vehicle and replace them with his factory wheels. This is normally a $50 repair bill but [redacted] did him a favor again. In closing, we have done nothing dishonest and have been above board in its' entirety. We have been and continue to bend over backwards to help Mr. [redacted]. Mr. [redacted] is a good paying customer and we have not had any problems with him in the past. We hope to continue doing business for and with him in the future. We do not however intend to do any business for whoever keeps making up lies about us and cursing at my employees. Consumer Response We have reviewed the response from Greenville Car Company and find it to be frivolous in nature. All complaints have been made by me, [redacted], in conjunction with my family. My family has all calls recorded as proof that there was no profanity used towards [redacted] or any other employee of Greenville Car Company. All oil changes were done as scheduled. Reputable dealers own up to their mistakes and errors at their expense rather than the expense of the customer. Other family and friends warned me about conducting business with Greenville Car Company as they experienced similar issues. Greenville Car Company can be assured that I nor any family member or friend would ever engage in business with them again as they are very dishonest.[redacted] and Family
