I am writing in response to the complaint of the non refundable deposit I spoke with this customer several times regarding the private party I'm not sure I understand her statement that we were unprofessional I took her initial phone call as I am the owner of uptown art and handle the majority of our event booking I clearly stated that we require a non refundable deposit because we have too many people reserve a party and back out at the last minute This has caused us to implement the non refundable deposit policy, which is clearly stated on our website at www.uptownart.comWhen she called to cancel because she couldn't meet the mnimum party attendance requirements I told her I would refund the deposit if I could book the date with a different party Because she cancelled so close to the date of the event I was unable to refill the slot Her late cancellation cost us $in lost revenue because we had no event scheduled for that night I specifically told her of our non refundable policy when she reserved the date and for her to imply that she didn't know about it is simply wrong When she first called to cancel she said she knew the deposit was non refundable and asked if she could transfer the fee to her mother to take a class With all of this being said we ultimately decided to refund the money to her We hope that this finally resolves this issue Please feel free to contact me with additional questions Sincerely [redacted] ***864- [redacted]
