I have been seen by a Nurse practitioner at the [redacted] branch of North Hills, and I was treated in a horrid manner. I have been coping with some spine issues for many years, and earlier this year I experienced worsening symptoms in a new location. After the initial visit in which I said I could live with the symptoms by limiting my activities but would very much like to know the cause, The NP did order an x ray which she said was normal. Depsite my ongoing low level pain and movement difficulties with my neck now as well as my lower back (Which tended to increase exponentially if I did certain things such as sit for longer than half an hour, look down, left or right much), she assured me that I was "normal".and that there was no way anything could be wrong with these areas since the x ray didn't show it. She said that I could resume all activities, but that most likely, my difficulties would return. So I did. I planted my garden, I worked two jobs, and worked for myself as well. Now, I have resigned from one job due to excruciating pain that shoots from my lower back all the way down into my feet when I do much of anything-especially bending and sitting or walking with a normal stride length. The ER doc I saw in desperation diagnosed me as having the symptom of sciatica. When I returned to North Hills for further diagnosis and treatment, this same Nurse Practitioner seemed not to take me seriously, so I demanded to see a more experienced specialist. She simply left the exam room without telling me anything other than that she would put in a referral. What a nightmare this has been! I waited two weeks, heard nothing and checked back with the office. They couldn't tell me anything sensible other than to call the referrals department. No one knew who I was supposed to see or when! So, after numerous calls and discovering that only one lady processed referrals for multiple locations, I finally got an answer from her-a month into this untreated unresolved undiagnosed torture! I then called the office back to see if they had the name of the specialist I was to see. Oh, yay-they finally did! So, I called the specialist's office and much to my surprise, they had no referral for me from North Hills! I made my own appointment with the specialist and then I went to get my medical records transferred to their office since the North Hills [redacted] office hadn't actually done a thing in that direction. North Hills seems to be extremely unprofessional and understaffed. The office staff is pleasant, but inefficiency roams in certain crucial areas. The Nurse practitioner at the [redacted] office does not like to acknowledge symptoms that don't fit her ideas and has extremely poor patient communication skills. Care coordination is dreadfully inadequate.

I have attched the statement that our billing staff gave after talking to the patient. Please email me if you still have any concerns.

I have read the following email which is very generic to me and the same way they would talk to me. This claim has been mishandled and now they need to pin this back on me. First as I have stated before they were sending this mail to [redacted] St, [redacted] SC, which I have not stayed since 2000. The collection agency said that NHHM gave them my current address which is [redacted] Ln, [redacted] SC. My question is why they never sent this bill until September of 2014, which came from a collection agency. NHHM have very unprofessional in resolving this, they have hung the phone while talking and gave [redacted] the information to contact my insurance provider at the time and she said she would let me know the outcome, never heard from her. I have attached the email I requested from my employer at the time to show coverage. I offered this to NHHM they denied it and again been very difficult to work with. Thanks [redacted] and have a great day.
