Review: Took my 2011 Juke to dealer to have timing chain replaced per recall notice from Nissan. When I picked car up the next day, I noticed I was charged for an oil change & filter. I questioned the service agent who replied the oil had to be drained to change the timing chain. I stated this should be included as part of the recall. He then stated he would remove the oil change but I would have to pay for the filter "everyone does" as it was company policy. I requested a mgr. & was introduced to a man who identified himself as the asst. service mgr.. He stated the same thing,"I'll remove the oil change but company policy is "everyone pays for the filter". I then demanded to speak with his supervisor as I had not requested an oil change as stated on the bill, had just changed the oil 1'000 miles ago and used synthetic oil not conventional oil which they had used. He then agreed to also take the filter charge off. After leaving the dealership I contacted Nissan Customer Service & confirmed that the oil change & filter was indeed part of the cost of the recall that the dealer would be reimbursed for. The service agent also stated he had checked the request box for oil change even though I hadn't requested it because he knew the oil had to be drained to perform the work. This appears to be a blatant attempt by the dealership to "double dip" at the expense of unsuspecting customers. Desired Settlement: As I no longer trust the integrity of the serviced dept., I didn't request that they change back the oil from conventional to synthetic. Instead, I purchased oil & filter and changed it myself as I've always done since the day I bought the car. I am requesting reimbursement for these items-approximately $35.45.
