When they purchased the vehicle they were given the choice of a new radio for $or going the used route for $ We would be willing to refund the $100, as that is what they agreed to and that is what they were charged

Miss *** purchased the van from Greg May Honda on March 4, after which she returned to the dealership with problems with the van over the next three to four months. Some of the repairs were completed at Greg May Honda and some were done at Greg May Chevrolet in West, TX. The
total of the repairs done at Greg May Honda amounted to $and the total from Greg May Chevrolet amounted to $1299.40, which makes the grand total of the repairs $1984.90. The entire amount of the repairs was either covered by the extended warranty she purchased or taken care of at the dealerships expense with no out of pocket from Miss ***When Miss *** purchased the vehicle, she chose to purchase a 2yr 24,warranty and she says she exceeded the mileage limitations of the extended warranty within months of the purchase of the vehicle, due to her driving habits changing, which is no fault of Greg May Honda. Miss *** says that when she called Greg May Honda about cancelling her extended warranty that we refused to help her, which is not correct. She was informed that here extended warranty had expired, due to miles and therefore there was nothing Greg May Honda could do for her. Also, when Miss *** finalized the paper work for the vehicle she purchased, she chose to not to select the optional GAP insurance coverage, which resulted in her being in a negative equity situation when the vehicle was totaled. In summary, Miss *** purchased a used vehicle which was sold as is, $in repairs were done to the vehicle at no out of pocket to her, she purchased a 24,mile warranty and exceeded the mileage in months, and she chose not to purchase GAP insurance, all of which is not fault of Greg May Honda

I am rejecting this response because:The vehicle was sold to me with extensive damage that they attempted to hide from meIt should never have left the lot with the issues it had and repairs should never have been charged to an extended warrantyThey attempted to hide the fact the passenger door would not close properlyI found out that same night when my fiance's children and my child got out of the passenger door and we could not close the doorThis drained the battery and we had to jump start the van the next day. It left the lot in this conditionThey failed to EVER fix the door after repeated inconvenient trips to their dealershipI went through about loaner vehicles as they did nothing to fix my vanOne vehicle they loaned me had a door that wouldn't openAnother vehicle they loaned me, they sold the next day and I had to return it the next day (another inconvenient trip as I traveled from Mount Calm to Temple every day for work)On and on, they held onto my vehicle and not once was it EVER fixed putting my child and my fiance's children in extreme danger because they door would sometimes slide open as we were driving the vehicle.Their sales tactics are shadyThey knew the amount of traveling I did to and from work and to and from another town to pick up my fiance's children but the fast-talking warranty guy rushed me through to sign for an extended warranty I never usedI will NEVER purchase another extended warranty and I will NEVER do business with this dealership againThey do not care about their customers at all

I am rejecting this response because: We also agreed that everything work properly and that did not happenThe most expensive radio on eBay is $70, but why would you put a physically damaged radio with a none working CD player in a customers car and call that good customer serviceThe CD player that came with the car worked just didn't have soundI could put in a CD and it would come out properlySo for that you should get $100, that's ridiculousWhatever was paid for that substandard radio is what you should keep, and that's not $

I am rejecting this response because:Selling a car "as is" is one thingThey sold the vehicle "as is" without disclosing the dangers of driving the vehicle with children inside (the van door slid open during driving)Selling a car "as is" to me means disclosing the issues the vehicle has and allowing the customer to make that decision being fully aware of the issuesThey disclosed nothing to meThey did their best to hide the issues of this vehicle knowing they were putting my child and my fiance's children at riskThey are morally reprehensible, greedy and unprofessional. They tried to hide the fact the door should not even be openedIt came open at the dealership and they hastily went over and forced it closed and told me "Oh it's fine." I got home, the van door opened, our kids got out and we thought we closed it only to find it didn't close properly, the battery was completely drained the next morning and we had to jump start the vehicle, making me late for work.Selling a car that that you can't even drive or is a known danger to the occupants of the vehicle is anotherIf they were aware of the issues before they sold it knowing full well it couldn't be driven and knowing full well this door slid open at any time during driving causing extreme danger to occupants, this is an extremely unprofessional and reprehensible business who operates solely on greed and not on customer service or caring for their customer's safety or ability to get to their jobsThese issues interfered with my ability to even use the van and caused my son and fiance's children great fear as the door would slide open, with them inside, while we were driving the van!

When we sold the customer the car, they stated the radio did not work.  I offered them two options, a brand new aftermarket radio for $200 or a USED one off off of Ebay for $100.  They chose to go the used route.  We replaced the radio and it sill did not work which cost us...

$140.  I then had to send it to West and they did additional work in the amount of $260 to repair a wiring issue in the fuse block.  Also, when the customer came back for the radio, she stated that the vehicle needed a tire, which we paid for and installed for her.  In conclusion, we can reinstall the radio that was originally in the vehicle, that is as long as we still have it around our dealership.

We have contacted the customer and resolved the issue at hand.

My name is [redacted] and I am the customer relations manager at [redacted] May Honda/Chevrolet.
If you need us to prove to you with a receipt that the customer in this case ONLY paid $100 for the used radio, instead of purchasing the brand new radio for $200, we will be more than happy to provide you with proof of purchase.
She is trying to make $100 off of our dealership by requesting an additional $100.
We are more than happy to make this situation right, even though her judgement and price point was to pick the used radio.  We will gladly give her the $100 back.

Please let me know,

Greg May Honda did sell [redacted] a 2007 BMW 335i, VIN [redacted], on November 9, 2019.  Mr. [redacted] came into Greg May Honda with a pre-approved auto loan from Capital One Auto Fiance and wanted only this one specific vehicle. The vehicle was sold as-is, which is the case...

will all used vehicles sold at Greg May Honda.  I have attached a copy of the Texas Buyer's Guide with the As-Is No Warranty box checked and signed at the bottom by Mr. [redacted].Approximately three days later, the vehicle was towed back to Greg May Honda by Woody's Wrecker Service.  Upon inspection by our ASE Certified mechanics, here at Greg May Honda, it was determined that the engine had suffered a catastrophic failure and one of the pistons had been thrown threw the bottom of the oil pan.  Since our Greg May Honda technicians are not BMW specialist, we opted to get a second opinion from Luikart's Foreign Car Clinic, who is the go to foreign car repair facility in Waco, TX, with over 20yrs of experience in repairing BMW automobiles.  It took them quite a while to work the vehicle into their shop to take a look at it.  During this time Greg May Honda provided a courtesy loaner vehicle to Mr. [redacted], which we were under no obligation to provide.  The vehicle was provided to him at no charge.  Upon further inspection by Luikart's Foreign Car Clinic, we were informed that in all their years of servicing and repairing BMWs, they have never seen one like this.  They determined to cause of the failure to excessive RPMs, meaning that either the vehicle was being driven extremely hard at a very high RPM exceeding the mechanical limits of the engine, it was down shifted with the steering wheel paddle shifter to a gear that caused the engine to rev into an RPM range in excess of the mechanical limits of the engine, or possibly that the gear shift was knocked into reverse at speed, causing the transmission to lock up and rev the engine into an RPM range above the mechanical limits of the engine.  Once Greg May Honda received this information that the cause of the failure was driver abuse, be opted not to repair the vehicle and informed Mr. [redacted].Also, Mr. [redacted] was offered an extended warranty, which he declined to purchase.  Many of the details in the story he provided are not valid, but it matters here nor there, as the vehicle was sold as-is, Mr. [redacted] declined the extended warranty, and signed the attached As-Is Texas Buyer's Guide.

It is possible there might have been some miscommunication between the salesperson and the manager about the tires, but if the salesperson said we would do "new" tires, then we will honor that and put new tires on.
As far as the battery goes, no matter where you purchase a vehicle that is a...

wear item, but due the inconvenience that she has incurred we we would be willing to reimburse them for 1/2 the replacement cost.

I am rejecting this response because: this response is wrong. I KNOW the low fuel chime is not supposed to chime every ten seconds, because when I bought the car, it didn't. I am not a fool.

I am rejecting this response because: The dealership didn't ensure they were reselling a car with no safety issues. The tire was replaced because it had a split in it, no money was asked for that. They collected $200 to replaced the radio any work that needed to be done were because they didn't do their checks. Having to transport the car to West is not my fault, it was because they don't have the things they need to operate as a reputable dealership of used cars. So any fees incurred from that they should eat. I also have a recording Mr. [redacted] saying that's the new radio, but we didn't have to take it out because there was nothing wrong with it, there was something wrong with the car. So it can be said they replaced the radio but that statement proves otherwise. They can have whatever money they paid for the radio, but I wasn't my remaining money. I'm sure they didn't pay even $100 for that because it has a deep scratch thru the screen and the CD player doesn't work, and I believe that was from trying to replace the radio. Had they taken steps to check the vehicle over, none of this would be an issue. A refund is a solution to this issue for them not doing what they said they would.

The vehicle Miss [redacted] purchased, went through Greg May Honda's service department on January 2, 2014 and received a standard used car check in the total amount of $569.  At that time all the vehicle checked out satisfactory and had no malfunctions.  On March 4, 2014, Miss [redacted] purchased the vehicle from Greg May Honda and returned with the complaint that the rear door wasn't working on March 5, 2014.  She was given a loaner vehicle to drive, while the vehicle was sent to Greg May Chevrolet in West, TX and repaired for $880 on March 10, 2014 at no cost to Miss [redacted].  She returned once again on March 18, 2014 with an additional complaint that the "doors lock by themselves," upon which she was given a loaner vehicle once again.  The complaint was checked out by one of the ASE Certified Mechanics at Greg May Chevrolet and it was determined that the vehicle is equipped with a passive locking system and that the system was working as designed.  The vehicle was returned to Greg May Honda on March 19, 2014, and a 1-year state inspection was done at no cost to Miss [redacted].  She returned once again on April 4, 2014 with the complaint about a tire issue that was covered by the optional road hazard warranty she purchased at the time of delivery.  On April 4, 2014 Miss [redacted] returned to Greg May Honda with the complaint that the 12 volt charger was not working in the vehicle and it was determined that the problem was her charger, not the power outlet.  This is an overview of all issues that were addressed at Greg May Honda.  The vehicle Miss [redacted] purchased was used and unfortunate at it may seem, sometimes they do break at no fault of the selling dealer or the customer. Greg May Honda has addressed and repaired all of the concerns Miss [redacted] had with the vehicle. In Texas all used vehicles are sold 'As Is," unless a written warranty is offered by the dealer, which we do not do at Greg May Honda. I have attached all of the service records in concern to this vehicle, as well as a copy of the extended warranty that Miss [redacted] purchased at the time of delivery.  It is no fault of Greg May Honda that Miss [redacted]'s driving habits changed and she exceeded to mileage limitation on the warranty in less than 6 months.  It is also not fault of Greg May Honda that Miss [redacted] did not purchase GAP insurance on the loan.

When they purchased the vehicle they were given the choice of a new radio for $200 or going the used route for $100.  We would be willing to refund the $100, as that is what they agreed to and that is what they were charged.

Complaint: [redacted]
I would like to first thank the representative from Greg May for responding to my complaint in such a prompt manner and thank Revdex.com for their assistance; however, I am rejecting the response because as seen in the Buyer's Order (see previous attached documents) that were forwarded from Greg May Honda, the day that I completed financing paperwork with car salesman [redacted] is noted as 6/28/13. The day that a "hold" check was written for the down payment is noted as 7/28/13 which enforces the veracity of my statement that I had to seek a bank--with an approximate 30 day elapse time--to open a checking account to comply with [redacted]'s verbal agreement in submitting a "hold" check with no intention in presenting the check to my bank which ultimately resulted in being presented to the district attorney's office. I understand that the Buyer's Order contains writing that states that "[t]his order contains the entire agreement proposed for the purchase of the above described vehicle and no other agreement or understanding of any nature concerning this transaction has been made unless attached to this order and signed by the seller and buyer." It is with due naivety and hardship that I consented to [redacted]'s underhanded practice without securing a written form of his additional agreement; however, as a sales associate with over 5 years of service to Greg May, I firmly believe that [redacted] knowingly made a verbal agreement with me in which he did not have the authority to honor, and he is the catalyst for this unfortunate series of events that I am facing. Although representatives for Greg May feel that they are powerless in their present role to assist in remedying this situation, I feel that Greg May representatives are able to provide information to the district attorney that would remove my name from court documents while still providing restitution to Greg May Honda.
