Review: Abel Garage doors came to my home to repair my garage door on 11/13/2013.

Today, 11/19/2013 I went to use my garage door and it still doesn't work !

[redacted] the person that tried to fix my garage door the first time told me to just fix it myself since it's just a broken bolt up in my rafters of my garage.

I paid Abel Gartage doors $135.00 cash and he won't fix one bolt because he told me that he's to busy and maybe, Just maybe in a month or two, He might have time to fix the bolt because he's to busy. Funny, When I first called him to repair my door, he had time the following day ?

Since it's one broken bolt, he told me that I should fix it!!

I think he should fix it because I just paid him $135.00 a couple of days ago.Desired Settlement: Please just replace the broken bolt!!

Unfortunately I have been unsuccessful in my attempt to respond via the Revdex.com website.

On November 13 of this year I received a call from Mr. [redacted] who was inquiring about garage door repair. After speaking with him for several minutes he informed me of several problems. I advise him over the phone that he would need to probably replace his automatic garage door opener due to its age and issues. Mr. [redacted] asked me to come to his residence and see if I could fix it.

I arrived at Mr. [redacted]'s residence that same day. After analyzing everything I advised him to replace the automatic garage door opener and springs. He told me he did not have the money to replace the items and begged me to repair what I could. At that point I let him know that my repairs would only be a temporary fix.

A week later Mr. [redacted] called to inform me that bolt fell out of his door "arm". This in no way had anything to do with my previous service. It was caused from the vibration of the automatic garage door opener that I advised him to replace. I told Mr. [redacted] that he could just put the bolt back and how to do it. I told him that if he wanted me to come and fix it that I couldn't get their until the following week. I have never under any circumstance made a customer wait a month.

I made an appointment with Mr. [redacted] for the following week and he was satisfied at that time.

A few days later a piece of metal got stuck in my eye. I had to go to the emergency room and two days later it was infected. At that time I went back to the doctor who insisted I take a full 7-10 days off work so I would not loose my eye sight. I informed Mr. [redacted] of this and reschedule our appointment for December 5.

At no point did Mr. [redacted] seem dissatisfied. I strive to satisfy ALL my customers. I go above and beyond to make sure I will have each customer be a customer for life.

Yes, I thought I accepted Able garage door's refund term on December 19th, 2013 ?

Here it is December 30th 2013 and I haven't received a refund check back from Able Garage door yet.

I will have another garage door company fix my Electric door opener.

If you take your car to a mechanic for an oil change, then a week later you get a flat tire, is that the mechanics fault? I was trying to save Mr. [redacted] the cost of a service call by telling him how to fix the bolt over the phone. Since the bolt had nothing to do with my previous work I would have had to charge him my service fee to come back out for the new issue.I am in my mid 50's and spend 60-70 hours a week climbing up and down a ladder so I thought Mr. [redacted] was capable of getting on a 4 foot ladder for 1-2 minutes to fix the bolt.

Mr. [redacted] also stated that I have had complaints on the internet. This is true. I have had 4 complaints in 8 years. Wow! Pretty amazing considering in the past 8 years I have serviced over 10,000 garage doors. He also stated that the last owner only charged him $86, but he neglected to state that that was almost 10 years ago and yes prices have risen.

At this point I have decided to refund Mr. [redacted]'s money. Not because it's the fair or right thing to do but because this matter will not end until Mr. [redacted] receives monetary compensation.

After many years in this business I have realized that you can't make everyone happy!

There are many false statements made by Mr. [redacted] including his statement about "[redacted]". I don't have anyone working for me named [redacted]. I realize this is a matter of he said/she said and that there is no way for the Revdex.com to be able confirm any of the statements by both parties. I feel it would better for me to send Mr. [redacted] a check and have him use another garage door company in the future
