We received this truck after it had broken down on Mr. [redacted] three different times at another shop. We advised Mr. [redacted] that we needed to start with two injectors in order move forward with our diagnosis. We also advised that there was a possibility that he might need a new engine. Mr. [redacted]...

okay'd the repair. After installing the two injectors we were able to better diagnose the problem. We performed a manual compression test and determined that the truck did in fact need an engine. Normally we would perform a computerized compression test, however the truck had an aftermarket starter on it that did not allow us to do this. The starter was under performing according to Ford's Factory specifications. Griffith Ford was not given the opportunity to see the truck after it left. We were told that the truck blew injectors at first and now this statement says glow plugs. According to Mr. [redacted], the truck failed only two blocks from the dealership but was not brought back to the dealership. We were told that the truck was taken to yet another shop. We have not seen anything that would determine that we did something wrong. I do not know what conversation Mr. [redacted] had with our former service manager. What I do know is that we strive to serve our customers to the very best of our ability. We were entirely upfront with everything and explained to the customer our step by step process. The customer was aware of exactly what we were doing and approved everything done before the work was done. To this day we still have no proof that the engine is blown or any damage the engine has sustained. We never had the chance to address the engine failure. We are still unsure as to why the customer did not call us until 3 days later to advise us that the engine had blown even though, according to the customer, the engine blew only two blocks from the dealership. Misdiagnosis is not what happened in this situation. We were in fact trying to save the customer money and did the absolute minimum in order to obtain our diagnosis. Like I said before, we would be willing to help in this situation but have not been granted the opportunity to even see what the customer is claiming.
