Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ***, and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.I tought I was dealing with a very seriuos company, but so far Im very dissappointed all I been hearing is liesAs I have said, I was told not once but three times, I would get my deposit backI called the property right after I received the notification from my landlord, That I was not able to move out, I talked to *** on friday 09/02/and I was told by the same leasing consultatn, to call her back on the next bussiness date, and that it wont be a problem getting my deposit back since I dindt sign the lease and they been notified the next day (Monday was a Holiday) to make the arregenmenst to get my deposit backI got records of this call and all previous calls in y cell phone
I want to clarify , that I checked thet same apartment back in June, and it was available since then, so officially they just hold it for DAYNow I understand why is so many apartments availables in that community, with that kind of management, and Im glad I did not move in because I dont want to have to do anything with a company like this one I understad it they hold the apartment for me for weeks, but it was just DAY, I was misinformed, they lied to meThe only money they should keep ,should be the $for the application, which I was asked twice, but I told them that was already paidIt is sad a big company like this one make their earnings this way, using tricksAll I got is my word which is worth more than their lies, and I have nothing to lose but my money, but their reputation in this community is tinted with lies

To Whom It May Concern,
In response to Ms*** ***' second message to Revdex.com requesting that her Security Deposit of $on an apartment at Windsor Village be returned to herAs stated in our first response, Greystone Properties follows the Fair Housing Law and we would be treating Ms*** differently from others if the deposit was returned to her. The law does not permit us to do soMs*** made and signed the application for an apartment on August 31st and was scheduled to move in to a Windsor Village apartment on September 15thShe called the Winsor Village Leasing Office on September and discussed the terms of her current lease and how it would impact a lease with Greystone Properties. She did not express the cancelation of her application at that time. On September 7th she contacted the Windsor Village Leasing Office and cancelled the application for the apartmentMs*** completed and signed the application on 8-31-16. That application states that "a holding deposit of $has been made and that the deposit will be used to hold the apartment until the agreed upon modate (9-15-16). If the applicant fails to move in upon the agreed upon date through no fault of the landlord this deposit will be retained by the landlord." Therefore, Greystone Properties does not plan to return the $deposit back to Ms***

This notification indicates that it is a second notification.  Please note that as of 6-13-16 this is the first I've seen of this complaint and heard of the problem.  I need to check on the problem and resolution.

Mrs. [redacted] is correct when she stated that her monthly rent was set up as an automatic payment with Active Building and that she had cancelled her automatic payment. Again Greystone Properties/RAM Partners waived the $35 NSF fee. Hopefully, this clears up any confusion with what had transpired. Thanks!

Greystone Properties policy is not to return a security deposit or an application fee to an applicant, whose plans have changed, once an apartment is taken off market and reserved in their name. That is what occurred in this situation. Application documents that were completed and signed by Ms....

[redacted] state that a security deposit will not be returned. A conversation was held with Ms. [redacted] about her being required to pay the remainder of her current lease with her current landlord and having two leases if she leased with Greystone Properties and not about refunding a security deposit. Greystone Properties follows the Fair Housing Laws strictly and those laws ensure that all people are treated fairly, equally and consistently. In addition, the law identifies the protected class based on race, color, national origin, religion, sex, handicap status and familial status.  Ms. [redacted] requested that an exception be made in her case and that her security deposit be returned to her. Greystone Properties is unable to honor Ms. [redacted]' request because the Fair Housing Law will not permit us to treat her differently from other applicants.  Thanks!

Greystone Corporate/RAM Partners did not have an opportunity to be informed or address Ms. [redacted] concerns until receiving this Revdex.com complaint.  Once receiving it,  I was able to speak with Ms. [redacted], by phone, about her concerns and her belief that the $35 NFS,...

charged by Greystone Farms, was unfair. She stated that she had requested that the on-line rent payment, made by her, be stopped. After checking with Activebuilding, she was told that the payment, made by her, would be stopped immediately and later she discovered that the payment was not stopped but was sent to her bank for payment. After reviewing her concern about the $35 fee, the decision was made by Greystone Properties/RAM Partners to waive that fee.

First, I apologize for any inconvenience or miscommunication
that the Resident feels that they have experienced. I...

have contacted the property
and the Director of our corporate apartments to review the situation.  My findings are as follows:
1) Initially, the Resident did not
report a suspected bed bug issue to the property management office
2) The Resident contacted Knox Pest
Control directly via their website to request inspection/treatment for bed bugs
3) Knox Pest Control performed
inspection based on the Residents’ request on February 24th
4) The Knox technician discovered
live bed bugs in a back bedroom and advised Resident
5) The Resident arranged for
treatment with Knox
6) As Knox Pest Control is the
contracted company for Greystone Summit, the tech contacted the Property
Manager, [redacted], to advise her of the issue.  The Knox technician told [redacted] that the
Resident had informed him that he would be paying for the treatment.
7) The Resident later cancelled the
treatment with Knox stating he had found another treatment
8) [redacted] requested that Knox come
out and re-inspect the apartment and the two adjoining units; in the Resident’s
apartment the tech observed a can of bed bug spray and that a mattress
protector had been put on the Resident’s mattress; there was no sign of bed
bugs in the adjoining units
9) Since Knox had discovered bed
bugs in their original inspection, [redacted] scheduled the treatment with Knox and
sent a preparation notice to the Resident and advised the Resident the
treatment cost would be his responsibility
10) The apartment was prepped by
the Resident and treated by Knox Pest Control on March 10th
Greystone Summit had a duty to treat the apartment once there
was a confirmed report of bed bugs.  An
additional concern was that this apartment was a corporate apartment, meaning
that the furniture, linens, and housewares are owned/supplied by Greystone
Properties which added to the need that the unit be treated properly.   Knox
Pest Control is a reputable, licensed pest control company which is why
Greystone Properties has a contract with them for pest control needs not just for bed bug treatments.
Greystone Summit has worked in a transparent manner in this
issue by advising the Resident of the treatment and cost responsibility.  Again the Resident initiated the contact with
Knox Pest Control, by-passing the property management office completely.
It is our position that Greystone Properties responded in a
responsible and proper manner.  I would
be happy to discuss this issue with the Resident directly if there are any
additional concerns or questions.  I can
be reached at ###-###-####.
Sincerely,
[redacted]
