Prior to receiving the email below from ***'s husband, ***, I received a text message from [redacted] in the morning, on my way to her job, telling me not to come in to workI had no idea why (there was never any discussion about my performance not meeting her expectations) so I contacted her via telephone asking what the problem was, but she never picked upAfterward, she wanted me to resolve the problems possibly unaware that her husband fired me.My estimate was for approximately six weeks and I was 1/weeks into the project when I was fired, therefore, I wasn't done with her kitchenAlso, painting was not part of my estimate, but I did it anyway within that 1/weeksDate: Thu, Feb 16, at 4:PMSubject: [redacted] To: [redacted] @gmail.com***, Unfortunately, we are not happy with the quality of the backsplash installationIt is not up to the quality standard we were expecting Overall, it looks very sloppy and uneven and has several gaps and openings that are filled with grout Because of this, as well as a handful of other quality issues, we’ve decided to have you stop all work on the kitchen We will hire a dedicated tile installer to rip out the backsplash and install it again as well as a someone who can clean up the problems on the cabinets such as the poorly filled holes and seams as well as the paint problemsWe will have to somehow settle up the payments/credits dueWe are at work and can't speak by phone, and after work [redacted] is driving rowing carpool and basketball carpoolWe can speak by phone Friday afternoon or anytime the following week as we will all be off
