First and foremost I am sorry for your troubles. Sometimes check engine lights can be difficult to diagnose. My name is [redacted] and I am the General Manager here at Grieco Kia. I am also a technician by trade so I can speak intelligently about this particular situation. When a vehicle has a... CEL come on there is a list of diagnostic tests that need to be performed. The manufacturer will suggest certain test to be performed and depending on the test results they could recommend starting with the least expensive repair to be performed in an effort to reduce customer expenses. I have personally experienced this type of CEL issue and have always started with the oxygen sensor replacement. It is most likely the fix and certainly the lease expensive. If the oxygen sensor isn't the issue you then look at the catalytic convertor replacement. I understand you had this part replaced at an independent non Kia Certified repair facility but we cannot trust the diagnosis of an independent shop nor trust certain aftermarket parts. Owning a vehicle sometimes cost us money and time spent. My service director offered to reinstall your part and return ours as well as refund your money. Something that many other repair shops wouldn't do.

***, thank you for your response. I feel I am due a full refund of $and not $considering this is the full charge to me by Kia not to mention additional incurred cost to correct your mis-diagnostic in which documents and receipts show Kia repeating what my mechanic had already replaced with the same outcomeHad Kia's diagnostic been correct , Kia would have fixed my exhaust manifold, as another mechanic repaired (and corrected the engine light, so that I could get my state inspection) and we would not be having this conversationI am more than happy to return your part after my mechanic puts back on his oxygen sensorI am not comfortable with Kia servicing my car at this timePlease advise if this will be sufficient to receive my refund so we may put this behind us. Regards,

Thank you *** for your response, it is greatly appreciatedAt this point in the complaint process I think it is only fair for me to settle for a $refund from Greico Kia to avoid further actionWhich is $plus the $I was billed on my return visit Tue Oct 17thOn this day, I came in and waited patiently for solid hours, just to have Kia tell me they did not have a solution and that I would have to bring it back another day (for an additional charge)When I returned on Nov 2nd and I asked for a manager, I was turned down times and promised a $refund check then! I was certain the managers name on duty that day was, “*** ***"I don’t know if it is because I am a woman that I am being jerked around by Kia but someone needs to take accountability for this type of service or lack thereofSince then, I have incurred another $diagnostic charge from a certified MA State Emissions Tech in Mansfield Main addition to Kia’s $bogus fee, not including my repair cost for a mechanic to fix what Kia did notI hope we can agree. Thank you for your time and have a great day.

Thank you, *** ***, for your response to my complaint to the Revdex.com about my service experience with Grieco KiaTo my dismay your response still does not address the Many concerns I have experienced with Kia over the past yearWhich has recently caused me a lot of inconvenience and money during hard timesYou speak about trust but I feel taken for as a customer that once valued Greico Kia and their credibilityCreating a lack of trust and quality of service in continuing business with you since the purchase of my Kia Optima. You mentioned as an experienced technician you know what you are talking about However, a certified MAState emissions Automotive in Mansfield diagnosed the Kia Shortage for $(after reaching out to MA state inspection department for help)They saw the exhaust manifold and gasket as a problem and could not understand why Kia did not know this, as well as CNN Mechanics in North Attleboro that diagnosed my car coming up with the same resultsAdditional diagnoses necessary after Kia re-replaced the sensors that were already done by a previous mechanicAs your service department wanted to trouble shoot the Mass Air flow / Catal that may be clogged “hoping that would fix the CEL and go from there for minimum $1500.00.” (Granted if this was done from the beginning, it could have saved me a lot of money)Not to mention how your mechanic insisted in adding how my clutch needed to be replaced because “it looked bad”Failing to assess the underlying issues time and time again as I asked you to look at the noise coming from the hood when I turned on my AC/Heat. Greico Kia took copies of my receipts from another mechanics showing the sensors they replaced on more than one occasion just to check their workWhich was the reason I asked Kia service to please consider other options and you did not, repeating the same work and billing me for the same sensor (Kia- $392.29) Burdening me with hours of waiting over a course of days for a job that took maybe hr, trying to get this issue resolvedMy trust in Kia and the quality of service to have you work on my car has diminishedYour service department suggested I take my mechanics “aftermarket” *** part back for a refund, giving me the run around no customer deservesEspecially now that you want your part back for a refund I feel is due to me, putting me in a predicament On numerous occasions, you have avoided me when I asked for a managerUsing your service rep *** as a messenger for your dutiesA third time after asking for a manager when I picked up my gas cap from KIA, I was promised a refund of my money in a mailed check (*** relayed), only to have him call me almost two weeks later to tell me I would not receive a refund like promised until you got your part back(Now out a part because your service team suggested I give my part back to my mechanic, but more importantly, WHY did you just not take your part back the day after the work was done or when I returned not once but twice when I had both parts?!) to address the engine light or the day I came back for the gas capYou have no idea the grief and frustration you have caused me and I hope this becomes a learning experience for Greico on how they treat their customers I am sorry it has come to this and I hope we can come up with an agreement and a solution at this timeI feel greatly inconvenienced at this time with empty promises and management ignoring my concerns during pressing times when they could have been preventedThank you for your time and consideration in reviewing my situation to both the Revdex.com and Greico management. Regards,*** L

***, I emailed you yesterday, not sure if you received itI want to point out one thingBased on the documents you provided my service department did nothing wrong in regards to the diagnostics of your ***As I mentioned before the Oxygen sensors are recommended to be replaced as they are the least expensive initial repair that can rectify a lean code issue. I will refund you the money you spent here providing we have our part back in our possession. Please advise *** ***

My expieriencewiththis dealership has been less than satisfactory.I had a Kia Optima with a turbo drive which after 4 monhs the brakes started squeaking. They told me there was nothing wrong. After returning 3 times to thedealer to listen to the brakes I spoke to the salesmanager and he was very nice and said I could change cars. I then was put intoa new lease that I am now paying 30.00 dollars a month more for, for 48 months insteadof 36. Now thisnew car has been in the shop there because the drivers side handle pulled out and they had to get a new one. Then to top this off in their yard someone backed up and hit my parked car. I now am waiting for a new fender. This has been going on since February when I leased the original one. What canI doabout this place?Do I not deserve some further consideration.

[redacted], A manager should have met with you when you requested and I'm sorry one didn't. I was not employed here when all this took place. Either that or I wasn't notified of the request. I have never denied a conversation with a client in my entire career. Unfortunately owning a vehicle can be inconvenient at times and cause us to take time out of our already crazy schedules. While we attempt to minimize downtime for your vehicle it is sometimes impossible to "fix it right the first time". I don't apologize for trying to do our jobs according to manufacturer guidelines but I do sincerely apologize for the lack of communication. This is something I am working on with m service department. I will see to it you are refunded the 305.25. I ask that you please not write any negative reviews moving forward knowing I've attempted to resolve this issue as best I can at this point. I will await your email back.  Best regards,[redacted]General Manager
