Service was basic and minimal, at bestThe tech did not seem knowledgable about other parts of the system he was servicing, such as return and supply ductworkWhen I asked him about upgrading the system, which Griffith would make THOUSANDS from, he replied with "it is what it is" and recommended a minisplit or window unitIf you want a simple coil cleaning, refrigerant check and amp draw check, that is all you getAlso, our local power company (***) offers annual rebates for tuning up heat pumps, which I found out on my own, after the tuoccurredWhen I contacted customer service, they told me that the form needs to be filled out by the tech (which they carry), but that they don't do it unless the customer brings it up at the time of serviceThe CSR was utterly unhelpfulHer excuse for not offering the rebate was that some people may have already gotten a yearly tuor that some of their customers do not get power from the ONLY POWER COMPANY in this areaI will not use this company ever again and I will go out of my way to tell everyone I know about my experience

I just wanted to say thank you to Griffith for keeping my two hvac units operating for 15 years. They came out an repaired a motor that was making the whole house shake. I thought for sure I was going to need a new unit, but they said the system was still in great shape. They just saved me several thousand dollars.

Very disappointed that after diagnosing a faulty valve on my compressor unit, Griffith would not honor the Extended Service Warranty that I had transferred to Griffith. I have since cancelled all three service contracts I had with Griffith, and taken my business to a more reliable service company that will actually provide service.

Also, our local power company ([redacted]) offers annual rebates for tuning up heat pumps, which I found out on my own, after the tune-up occurred. When I contacted customer service, they told me that the form needs to be filled out by the tech (which they carry), but that they don't do it unless the customer brings it up at the time of service. The CSR was utterly unhelpful. Her excuse for not offering the rebate was that some people may have already gotten a yearly tune-up or that some of their customers do not get power from the ONLY POWER COMPANY in this area. My [redacted] furnace (6 years old) was out of order on 2/14/15 and I contacted a HVAC repairman, [redacted] on 2/15/15 (Sunday) to check it. He told me that the blower motor was broke and I should contact this furnace installer - Griffith Heating & Cooling to repair it due to warranty issue. I called Griffith right away and the first thing the Griffith guy asked me if I had maintenance contract with them. I told him that I did not have maintenance contract. He told me to call them on Monday due to the high service fee on Sunday - $180. I called Griffith office at 7:10 AM on Monday 2/16/15, the lady who answered the telephone told me that they were booked for the day (Griffith website said - same day service guaranteed). Tuesday Griffith office closed due to heavy snow. On Wednesday one Griffith service guy [redacted] showed up and I told him that it was the blower motor problem. He went to inspect the furnace and confirmed the problem. He told me that the warranty for blower motor was 5 years and I did not have warranty any more. The cost for repair was $1450 + $95 service fee, but he would give me 15% discount if I bought one year maintenance service contract for $235 per year. I showed him a 50% off service fee coupon from Griffith website. He said the 50% coupon ($48 value) only applied if we had this repair done next visit. He went ahead to order the replacement parts, but I asked to have more information for the repair cost of $1450 (how much was the parts cost and how much was the labor cost). He promised to send it via my email. I called Griffith office after [redacted] left asking them temporarily to hold off ordering the parts until I received more information from [redacted]. He had never sent any information to me except the invoice of his visit for $95. I asked [redacted] to come back to repair this furnace the next evening (the 6th day without heat). He spent about one hour and my furnace was back to work. I receive his bill today, it was $750 to repair this furnace.

Griffith heating and cooling technician came out to repair my central air unit. He said I needed a fuse and replaced the fuse with a piece of copper. He told me to replace the copper with a fuse and showed me how to replace it. I was totally uncomfortable with a jack-leg fixed and told him. He contacted his service manager and stated his manager was good with this temporary fix. I refused to pay for this fix. He removed the copper, returned my check and said have a nice day. I asked was this common practice when I called the company and as of yet have gotten no response from the company.
