On February 16, 2017, *** *** received a fuel delivery in the amount of gals, as that is when the whistle mechanism stopped whistling, indicating to the driver that the tank is full? There is a standing message on *** *** account to perform a slow fill on her tank as she believes
she experiences premature whistle stoppages on fast fill, causing the tank to not be completely full? Our driver on this day of delivery complied with the slow fill request.It was immediately reported to me by the driver after he completed the delivery, that as he was reeling in the delivery hose, *** *** approached him in a hostile manner, shoving a pointed finger in his face, and shouting "you didnt slow fill it!!" "your jipping me of my *** oil!" and various other derogatory comments in a berating manner and she demanded that he re-pull the hose and keep delivering? My driver proceeded to show *** *** the mechanism on the pump to illustrate that he did indeed slow fill her tank, he explained that the whistle stopped and so that is all the fuel he is able to safely deliver, and that he was not going to have any more conversation about it.Our driver reported to me that the *** *** verbal and physical conduct was so egregious that he actually felt threatened? Given this, I made the decision that we would no longer provide any future service to *** *** to avoid any potential conflict in the future, and because when an employee of mine reports an incident such as this, it is incumbent on me to ensure that they are not subjected to any verbally abusive or otherwise hostile or unsafe work environment.I did not write a "nasty" note to *** *** I provided her a copy of the record on her account which detailed the incident as reported by our driver, and I added a professional and cordial hand written note to it requesting that she chose an alternative fuel provider? I also informed her that I had notified ***, her fuel assistance provider, that she would need an alternative fuel provider? I did not "report the incident to an authority".Today, February 24, 2017, *** *** called me and left me a nearly minute voicemail, of which I only listened a part of because I knew why she was calling and I chose just to simply call her right back? When I did call her back, *** *** proceeded on a very long rant which was quite disjointed from the subject matter and very aggressive? Part of her rant included telling me what she was and was not wearing on the day of delivery for undergarments, and what color it was? During *** *** tirade on the phone with me, I was not given a chance to speak, and my experience on the phone with her was confirming my impressions of the incident as reported by my driver? At then end of the conversation before *** *** hung up on me, I explained to her that it did not matter who's side of the story was "more correct" but that I had made the decision it was best for her to find alternative service? She informed me should would be making this complaint, as well as on other review sites- which I have seen, and they are complaints of a completely unrelated nature to this one at hand (specifically she complains about price).I will not be writing an apology or providing any further action this matter? I stand by my decision to prevent subjecting my employees to this type of treatment ? when an employee reports something of this nature to me, as providing a safe work environment is of course a priority.?
