still shopping
I am shopping for storm doors, some of the Grisham doors have a great elegant look. However, after all of these reports about Grisham not honoring their warranties, I'll be looking elsewhere. Functionality is more important than design in a storm door. Thanks to all who took the time to share their bad experiences.

Series of bad locks
Purchased a grisham security door and had it professionally installed. The lock that came with the door was broken right out of the box...much hassel but got a replacement lock from grisham and installed it myself...worked for a few years and then the new lock failed and locked renters out of the house...spent 2 hours forcing the lock apart to get the door to open. Grisham refuses to stand behind their faulty locks and wants to charge $120..00 for a new lock that will fail...Their horrible customer service gave me the runaround and then hung up on me then put me in hold purgatory.

Complaint on product
On 6/14/20 we purchased a Grisham security door at Home Depot. We waited 6/7 weeks for it to be delivered/installed. After installers left, while cleaning the door I noticed a 8 inch deep scratch on the top glass. I tried to remove but it was too deep. Called Home Depot and they ordered another top glass for us. After waiting another 4/6 weeks to get the replacement, he came to install today. This glass was defective...you could see light thru the corners of frame..where they are separated. It appears the frame was bent causing the rubber to be pushed up higher on 2 corners that are separated. So now, I guess we’ll be waiting another 4/6 for a second replacement. This is very discouraging. I will definitely look at other companies when purchasing another security and would not recommend your company.

I’m at odds as to how to rate Grisham Brothers, LLC. Up until my recent experience, I would have rated 5 stars. With my recent experience, I rate 1 star, so I’ll go for the middle but 2.5 stars is not an option. I bought and had professionally installed two Grisham Security Storm Doors, Gibraltar design, in 1995. After 25 years both doors needed a facelift: sanding, repainting and general maintenance. The handsets need replacing so I went directly to Grisham for purchase. The female representative at the corporation was most helpful and was interface between me and the production crew. After several back-and-forths, the production crew declared the locking/handset accessory was not a Grisham product. Only after I sent photos of the information I retained from the original purchase did they accept what I was saying as correct. They conceded it is a Grisham accessory, but no longer manufactured and the new accessory may not fit. How can a corporation manufacture a product advertised with, at the time, a lifetime guarantee and quit manufacturing parts that support that guarantee! I am baffled with Grisham Brothers, LLC failure in being true to its own product. While I purchased the doors 25 years ago, I paid a lot of money to get the quality that was promised. I now look back on the purchase with regret.

I purchased a security storm door made by Grisham Bros. on-line from Houzz. The first two deliveries were not accepted because of shipping damage. I accepted the third delivery, but discovered installation screws were missing. Thanks to Houzz, I finally got the screws and installed the door. However, instructions for installing the door closer call for drilling between the top and bottom glass panels, an area consisting of a third GLASS PANEL! A top mount for the closer was necessary, and this required removing one of the latches holding the top glass panel. Switching from glass to screen requires removal of the closer. The door I purchased looks good but was not designed for practical installation. I wish I had purchased a different, practical brand. I do not and will not recommend Grisham Bros.

Date 01/23/2014 [redacted] (phonetic) hung up on me after I asked her to hold for a minute; if we can hold for them, they should do the same for usi have been trying for over an hour to get some information on the contact necessary to repair a grisham security door purchased xxxxxx from [redacted] I was referred to the grisham corporation and transferred from a customer service rep at [redacted] answered and I relayed my issue to her. During our conversation, a very important call came in and I asked her to hold just a minute for me; I got back to her before a minute and she had hung up. We are put on hold almost every time we contact a business for assistance. Our time is just as important as that of any business. If we can hold for grisham, why can't grisham hold for us? If I was making a purchase, I am certain that she would have held on. They are not interested in repairs, refunds, or other customer concerns. Desired settlementi need to have the door repaired immediately. It is very difficult for us to open it to get in or out and it will bang shut if we do not hold it. I know that it is out of warranty; it has to be fixed regardless. A house door that cost nearly $700 should have a better service expectancy than 2 years. Having to pull on it very hard from the outside and push it very hard from the inside or allowing it to slam shut is only going to cause further issues. I am not asking for a new door; all I was trying to get was contact information for repair. I will never purchase another of grisham's products or refer anyone else to grisham. Business response hello, grisham corporation is a wholesale manufacturer of security storm doors. Our doors are purchased through retail centers, and generally installed by professional installers or the home owner. I have not spoken with this customer, but it sounds like the door is rubbing from some type of stress or installation problem. I would be more than happy to speak with the customer to perhaps help them resolve their issue. Thank you, [redacted]

Complaint2 storm doors purchased with self storage glass and screen inserts. They are too small, they don't fit, are unstable and have / will fall and break these special order doors were a problem from day one. Both of the self storing glass inserts fell out of their proper sitting space in the door on the day they were installed. The installer called grisham on 11/16/12 and got replacement latches that had broken when they fell. The front door shakes and rattles when it opens and closes because it doesn't fit. If it falls again and the glass should break grisham will not replace the glass. I am in a no win situation. The screen was made too small but grisham screwed the small screen to the frame and now the screw fell out and there is a gap where the bugs come in. These doors are covered under warranty for one year, and the problem is in the manufacturing of the inserts. They were not made to fit my door. They were expensive special order doors, yet they don't fit. Now that the weather is hot up here, I open the inserts to let the air in the inserts rattle like they are going to fall out each time the door open and closes. I called the owner at the end of june and I received no response. I spoke with customer service and sent 3 emails to the same person with no response. This is not right. I wanted to support this company because they manufacture here in the us, but the quality is lacking and I want grisham to correct the poorly made items. Desired settlementi want the glass and screen inserts measured and remade for my doors. Complaint Grisham Door refuses to honor the LifetimeWaranty our doors came with when we purchased them in 1994.We purchased our doors directly from Grisham Door Corporation in 1994 with a lifetime warranty. As long as the company is called Grisham they should honor the Complete Lifetime warranty that [redacted] Grisham gave us!Desired SettlementRepair or Replace the defective doors.Business Response Mr.[redacted] did call about repairs being made to his door.
