Re: Case # 19041271: [redacted]
To Whom It May Concern
I represent Grossinger Motors ("Grossinger') and I am writing to you on its behalf and in response to the complaint filed with the Revdex.com by, or on behalf of, [redacted]. In that complaint, Mr. [redacted] complains about Grossinger's failure to repair his car and, in addition to certain repairs, seeks $2500.00in additional compensation for such things as car rentals, driving to Normal from Chicago, and lost time from work. For the reasons set forth below, and because Mr. [redacted]'s recitation of the facts is both inaccurate and incomplete, the relief sought by Mr. [redacted] is not acceptable to Grossinger.
Mr. [redacted] brought his vehicle to Grossinger for the installation of a replacement engine on his car. The engine came with a 90 warranty for parts, but not any additional labor. The engine failed during the warranty period, and the car was returned to Grossinger. [redacted] agreed to pay for the additional labor (estimated to be $1793.00), and Grossinger provided him, at no cost, with a loaner vehicle.
Before Mr. [redacted]'s car was repaired, Mr. [redacted] was involved in a serious accident while driving the loaner vehicle. Rather than inform Grossinger of that fact, Mr. [redacted] allowed the loaner vehicle to be towed to a storage lot, and he informed persons at the lot that the vehicle was owned by his "employer" (for which he delivered parts) , and he would advise the owner to pick it up. Many weeks later Grossinger learned of the location of the loaner vehicle, and after contacting the storage lot, it was advised that the loaner vehicle it would be released only upon the payment of storage and towing fees totaling $ 1650.00. Grossinger paid that amount and the vehicle was released to it.
A subsequent inspection of the loaner vehicle by Grossinger's insurer determined that the loaner vehicle was a total loss. The insurer valued the pre-accident vehicle at significantly less than Grossinger had paid for it and for improvements to the vehicle. After the insurer applied a deductible and other charges, Grossinger sustained a net financial loss as a result of the accident of $3926.00.
As Grossinger was working with its insurer, it received notification from the Illinois Secretary of State that its dealer license plates were being revoked due to a failure to pay tolls, fines and penalties incurred while the loaner vehicle was being driven on the Illinois Tollway. The unpaid amount is $ 9,512.70. Grossinger determined that the tolls, fines and penalties were incurred while the loaner vehicle was being driven by Mr. [redacted].
Grossinger remains ready, willing and able to supply the parts necessary to repair the engine on Mr. [redacted]'s vehicle. However, it will do so only after Mr. [redacted] has satisfied all the tolls, fines and penalties owed to the Illinois Toll Road, he has paid Grossinger
$ 3926.00 for its loss resulting from the accident involving the loaner vehicle and $1650.00 for the towing and storage charges paid by Grossinger, and he has advanced Grossinger the estimated $1793.00 for the labor charge that will be incurred in repairing the engine.
If I can provide you with any additional information at this time, please contact me.
Sincerely,
[redacted]

Dear Mr. [redacted] & Office of the Revdex.com,
This letter is in response to the complaint from Mr. [redacted] that the vehicle he purchased from us was not a New Vehicle as it was represented when he purchased it.The vehicle in question is a 2014 Subaru...

Legacy VIN 4S38MCC63EXXXXXXX. This vehicle was purchased from Grossinger Motors on 07/25/2014 and it was sold to the Michaels as a New Vehicle. Attached please find paperwork signed by the Michaels showing a new vehicle with 1889 miles on it at time of purchase. The customer was informed that this vehicle had been driven as a demonstrator by the previous owner of the dealership. Also attached is the Certificate of Origin that shows ownership transferred from the previous business owner to Grossinger Motors and then to the Michaels. The Michaels were the first titled owner of this vehicle. The supporting documents include an odometer statement showing that they were fully aware of the 1889 miles at time of delivery as well.
Grossinger Motors did in no way misrepresent the vehicle. We do not feel responsible to the Michaels for any financial consideration.
Please contact us with any further questions.
Sincerely,
[redacted]

Initial Consumer Rebuttal /* (3000, 13, 2016/01/28) */
(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
When I first contacted [redacted] Motors, I simply requested an explanation regarding multiple Carfax reports filed on the VIN of said vehicle. At that time (around 12/20/16), [redacted] emailed me to say that he would look into the matter and contact me by the next day. He never contacted me. This is what caused me to become even more concerned. I would like to have an explanation regarding the multiple Carfax reports I asked about and why my request for an explanation went unanswered.

Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me.

To Whom It May Concern,We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience Mr. [redacted] received.  We picked Mr. [redacted]'s vehicle up from his home and had a key programmed.  We hope to have satisfied Mr. [redacted] and believe all his concerns have been addressed. Thank you,[redacted]Grossinger Auto...
