I paid for my son, [redacted] Orthodontist treatment $6700 sometime between 2007 and 2012. I chose Groton Dental Wellness for my son's orthodontist treatment because I liked their first orthodontist, Dr. Carney's decision for Casey's treatment not remove healthy tooth, instead using special application for his orthodontic work. During his treatment period, the Groton Dental Wellness changed their orthodontist three times and not followed up his first agreed treatment. So he had to start orthodontist work from the beginning. Since we paid the amount of $6700 up front, so [redacted] could receive all the necessarily orthodontic work until completing his treatment. 2011 [redacted] graduated from high school in MA and moved college NY, we found really difficult to have transport to almost 180 miles away for just 10 minutes treatment. [redacted] missed a class and had to rent a car until unknown date of termination of his treatment. So we found another orthodontist near his college Winter of 2013. [redacted] had to start his orthodontic treatment all over again. It costed us $1500 excluding the insurance fee to complete his orthodontist works. Not only mention about his renting car to transport due to delay of treatment because of few times switching orthodontist.Product_Or_Service: orthodontic treatmentDesired SettlementWe would like the Groton Dental Wellness to refund some of our up-front payment $6700.Additional $1500 was not necessarily payment for us on top of our very dissatisfaction of treatment at the Groton Dental. We can accommodate the document cost of orthodontist works at [redacted] Orthodontics, PC, We also would like to ask a few times of rent-a-car cost in order to transport from his current college to the Groton Dental $60 x 6 days ( 3 times round trip). The success of any long term healthcare treatment is dependent on a commitment between the healthcare provider and patient. Treatment plan compliance is critical to achieve desired results.Parents have responsibility for guiding and helping their child maintain compliance. Other unknowns, which are inherent in working with the human body, can also affect the outcome of treatment. Orthodontists did change during Casey's treatment but, commitment to quality care was a constant thread. A signed Orthodontic Treatment Consent Form which included information on potential problems/risks, and clinical charting detailing a pattern of non-compliance is available upon request.
