We had a chimney fire many years ago and our homeowner's insurance did cover it, but highly recommended Golden's (a British company) chimney lining over all of our bids, as they had a year guarantee When the Golden's representative showed us photos of their work, demonstrated their patented material and then after we signed a contract, showed us many photos of what happens to stainless steel liners, well, its hard to buy this kind of peace of mind! Had golden chimney service inspect and clean my chimney after purchasing a homeThey were prompt and told me they inspected both flues and they were in good shape and did not need cleaning,but need minor mortar repair and need to be cappedThey said they took measurements and would get back with an estimateTwo weeks later I was told that they had measurements and would callThree months later was told an estimate was never recorded and they were looking into itGuess they are a very busy company
