Grunden Landscaping

Review: Grunden Landscaping installed approximately a 700 sq. ft. paver patio for myself and my husband in June of 2013 at our home. The contract states that we have "5 YEAR GUARANTEE ON ALL WORKMANSHIP". In August of 2013 we contacted [redacted] that some of the polymeric sand (grout between pavers) had come out in a small area of the patio. I called [redacted]'s cell phone, office phone and e-mailed him for months before we received a reply. He did stop at our home and look at the patio in October of 2013. He acknowledged it needed repaired. Then the weather became a problem and he couldn't come back to fix the grout. We didn't contact him through the winter knowing he couldn't do the repair because of the severe winter. We contacted him via phone in late April 2014, advising him not to forget about us and come and fix the polymeric sand (grout). He said when it was warm enough he would send someone out to make the repairs. We never heard from him this past spring nor throughout this summer until I again e-mailed him on August 11, 2014. On August 11, 2014 [redacted] replied to my e-mail. He stated in his e-mail that he was coming August 18 through 20, 2014 to make the repairs, weather permitting. He wanted everything removed from the patio. It was sunny, warm and dry Aug. 18, 19,20 and 22 of that week. The following week (Aug. 25th through the 29th) was also warm and dry. as of today, September 3, 2014 he never showed up to make the repairs nor has he phoned or e-mailed. It has been over a year and the necessary repairs have not been made. The five year guarantee is useless if he doesn't make the necessary repairs and it is near to impossible to get reach him. The 5 year guarantee played a large part in our selection on Grunden to install our patio and his A+ rating with the Revdex.com.Desired Settlement: We want the polymeric sand (grout) repaired within the next few weeks by Grunden Landscaping. We don't want the weather to become a factor again. Since it is taking us over a year to get this small repair completed (and it isn't repaired yet), we want a $500.00 refund. It appears that he is not going to stand behind his guarantee. We may have to get another company to make any other needed repairs in the future should they arise.

Review: Grunden Landscaping performed landscape and hardscape with note on contract "All plant material to have 1 year guarantee with proper care." Contract signed 5/1/2013 & last payment was made 9/11/2013. In spring 2014, [redacted] was notified that 1 tree & numerous shrubs did not survive. Robert advised us to await several months to see if plants/trees would survive. [redacted] has been contacted numerous times by text, phone, e-mail and certified letter without resolution over the past 3 months.Desired Settlement: Replacement of the dead tree & shrubs. If Grunden Landscaping will not replace the tree & shrubs, we would like the cost and labor to have another company replace it. Review: Had landscaping performed last year July 2013. 2 dogwood trees died within 2-3 months of planting. [redacted] said he would replace. Hasn't happened. We finally removed the trees and realized they are planted in huge mounds of clay. Nothing can grow in that. The beds were to be soil. Satisfaction of this complaint for me would be to replace the 2 beds with a topsoil mushroom manure mix and replant trees. The perennials that are in these beds did not die.Desired Settlement: Replace soil and trees that died. Remove clay, replace with topsoil and mushroom manure mix.
