Review: On the website you can apply for home rentals. The website lets you apply directly for the home you are seeking. When you apply you submit the application along with all requested documents and you then pay a 30$ non refundable fee to have it processed. I applied for a specific home located at [redacted]. I pushed the apply now button for this home which led me to another page to start the application submission. On that page it states the home you are applying for. I applied for this home and never received anything from the Company as to whether I qualified or not. I actually was keeping up on the home because I wanted to go to an open house. I called in on a Friday and was told that the home still was not ready for an open house to calling in the following Monday and then being told all of a sudden that it was rented. I was then told by the receptionist or whomever answered the phone that my info was going to be given to the leasing agent for a call back. I NEVER once got a call back from any property/leasing agent. Three mos pass and I still never received an email/mail about my application. I called to request my refund of the app fee of 30$ since the Company never called me or contacted me via email or us postal service. I expected to get a call or mail stating unfortunately I didn't qualify. I called the Company and I was told by the property manager that they don't call all applicants back to tell them they didn't qualify and that their app was denied. I told them that that is not fair and how was I to know what happened with my app if I never received a notification. The property manager stated that they were sorry but it was processed and I would not get a refund. No where on the website does it say that it is up to their discretion who they call back. The property manager stated that I would not get a refund back which I asked for.Desired Settlement: I believe that due to the fact that this Company did not do anything in regards to my application or if I qualified for the home that I should get my 30$ application fee back. I feel that I was toyed with because I was applying for a certain house and the house went from not being shown to the public to being rented without any call backs or notification. I want this company to state on their website that all applicants who applied get notified of approval/denial. I want my 30$ fee returned.

To whom it may concern,This particular applicant did not meet our minimum requirementsto rent one of our rental properties. The applicant had a very derogatory payment history showing on theircredit report that did not reflect any consistent payment record. This particularproperty was under renovation and was not being show until deemed safe foranybody that entered. This applicant was phoned on two separate occasions andleft message to contact our office but the calls were not returned or message werenot left on our phone system.

I am rejecting this response because: The Company is lying about contacting me on two separate occasions and leaving vm's to call them back. I NEVER received any phone calls from the Company. The reason I finally called the Company was to complain that I never received any decision on my application. How was I to know that my application was processed ? When I finally called very upset I spoke to a property manager ( a male) and this property manager even told me that they are just used to applicants calling in and asking about their application and as to whether they were approved or denied. This property manager even told me that they do not always call the applicants back to let them know if they were approved or denied because they are used to the applicants just calling in and asking about their application. I told him that I expected a phone call or a notice of action sent via mail or an email. I expected something to be given to me as I believe all business's have the responsibility to inform their clients of their application. This is a business! I am not complaining that I was denied because I understand their decision but I am complaining that I was NEVER informed about my application and I paid for this service. My voice mail to the company from my recent calling which the company should have saved specifically stated that I wanted my money back because I NEVER heard from them about my application and if it was even processed. I still want my money to be refunded due to the way this business handled the situation.
