Tried contacting Hotmail customer service about continuous junk mail going into my regular email Inbox and regular Inbox email ending up in my junk mail folder. Problems continuously getting worse.
They told me I needed to pay $310.00 for 3 years of service to be able to fix the problem or it is going to get a lot worse than that.
I said, I have had a Hotmail account for over 20 years and have never had to pay anything for any kind of service whatsoever. I have never heard of such a thing.
He said it's $310.00 for 3 years or $500 something for 5 years.
I said, I'm disable, I don't have that kind of money, can it be made in monthly payments. He said, No, I'm sorry, but for you, we will only charge you $200.00.
I said, I don't have $200.00 until later this month. He said, you can post date the check and we will not cash it until then. I said, I don't like doing that. He said, he will assure me that the check will not be cashed until that postmarked date.
Before he did anything, he had me write out the check, set it on my copier and he scanned to himself. Then told me to put in an envelope and make sure it got mailed out right away.
I told him the mail already went out for the day. He said then tomorrow put it in the mail.
He went into my computer online, did a few things including deleting all my contacts on my safe sender Hotmail account, went into my junk mail folder, found the email that was not suppose to be in there and clicked on it and clicked on not junk mail and it went into my inbox folder. (Wow, I could've done that!) Then he went in and type in some rules (I still have yet to find them) and said okay, it's all fixed.
I said, that's it, I'm no longer going to get junk mail in my Inbox and my regular email is no longer going to end up in my junk mail folder? He said, it's all fix, it's not going to happen any more. I said what about my safe sender list, you deleted all my contacts on that list? He didn't say anything.
Next day, all my regular email was in my junk mail folder.
He called back and all he wanted to know was if I put the check in the mail. (I told him yes, but I actually didn't'). After seeing what I saw, I'm waiting a couple more days.
He went back into my computer and pretended he was fixing my email. I was also watching as he was looking around and it looked like he wanted to download Office 365 or whatever it's called. I was thinking you better not go there, I'm not paying for anything else. He kept snooping around and clicking on it and move away from it. I saw it had a price on it. Then he backed out of it.
Next thing I know he said, okay you're all set.

I have been waiting to hear from him to let him know he hasn't fix a thing on my computer and that I'm canceling whatever services he thinks he or his company has done for me.

I was still having same issues when I got home yesterday after, so I sat down at the computer
and have put all my trusted email contacts back on safe senders list and any junk mail that has come in, I have now gone in and blocked them.

I have also before this guy calls me back to try and sell me something else downloaded Microsoft Word and Excel for a 30 day free trial to see if I would like it before purchasing it. It came with information about Outlook and have learned a lot about my outlook email account also which is linked up with my Hotmail account.

One other thing I would like to inform Revdex.com. The invoice that GTEK Info Solutions LLC set up never sent it to me to print out to sign and/or scan back to them, they signed my name themselves illegally without my permission in 10 spots.
1) *By signing the invoice I (my name - illegally signed) declare that I have understood and agree to all terms mentioned below.
2) By signing the invoice I (my name - illegally signed) declares that I have received the first satisfactory service from the company.
3) *** I (my name - illegally signed) understand that this charge will show as "Gtek Info Solutions" on my bank statement.
4) ("my name - illegally signed") by "Geek Info Solutions" operating in the United State to support the billing aspect of the product and service that the customer has purchased from "Gtek Info Solutions".
5) Bottom of 1st page (my name - illegally signed)
6) Bottom of 2nd page (my name - illegally signed)
7) Bottom of 3rd page (my name - illegally signed)
8) Bottom of 4th page (my name - illegally signed)
9) Bottom of 5th page (my name - illegally signed)
10) Signature Certificate (my name - illegally signed)

Very misleading company.
Try to sell you something you don't even need and then pretend to fix your issues.
Fraudulent company.
Only out to scam you of your money and who knows what else.

I reviewed the response and find the resolution acceptable, but still disappointed. With scanning features, the company very well could have sent me blank copies of agreement, I would have signed them and they in turn could have re-scanned original signatures. Do not like computer generated signatures nor will I ever accept that as my signature.

On 10/28/2019 I was having a problem with my Yahoo email contacts. My entire contacts list was not displayed. I did a google to come up with a problem and a web site showed up to call the following phone number. . The support technician told me that they could help me with the problem. They explained that I would have to obtain a year service plan for $149.99. I wrote a check and sent them a photo copy. I also sent the hard copy of the check to them via mail as requested. They took control of my computer and after several hours called and asked me if the problem was fix. I looked at the contact list and the problem still was there. They moved on and said that they did a complete check of my computer and would call back in a few days to see if my problem was still there. They did called back and I told them that the problem was still there. They said they would work on it.

Well I never heard from them and did my own work around to solve the problem.

On 12/10/2019 I got a call from GTEK INfO SOLUTIONS say that they detected a problem with my computer. I did wonder how they detected this. I gave them control of my computer and they said that they needed to Download Microsoft Office Professional Plus 2016 into my computer to correct the problem. I told them I had no problem and that I paid for, and had Microsoft Office 2019 Home and Student program on my computer. I told them I did not need a more powerful Office Program. They said to correct the problem of all my driver programs from being destroyed I had to install Microsoft Office Professional Plus 2016 for $510.00. I was hesitant but agreed and wrote a check and sent them a scan copy for the install. Well thinking about it and a little research I determined that I been a victim of a scam and the following morning put a "stop payment" on the check.
GTEK INFO SOLUTIONS, Steve K called me today and asked me if I put a stop payment on the check and I owed them for the download. I explained that he had lied to me that I needed Microsoft Office Professional Plus 2016. I told him that I had uninstalled all that he put on my computer and that my computer is fine. He hung up the phone on me. I called back GTEK INFO SOLUTIONS and talked to Alok. I asked him the condition of my account and he told me that I did not owe them anything. I explained that Steve K called earlier in the day and asked about the $510.00 check. I told him that Steve installed Microsoft Office 2016 when I did not need it because I had paid Best Buy to install Microsoft Office 2019 when I purchased the computer. Alok told m "No Problem", not to worry about it that I did not owe anything.

I am very worried that this company will cause me future problems.

Revdex.com:I reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID, and find the resolution is satisfactory to me. I have included three email letters between me to and from GTEK for Revdex.com records on this case. I thank Revdex.com helping me out on this case and feel that it is resolved between GTEK and myself.

Regards

I am a 90 yr old widower who lives alone since my wife's death in 2014. All of my liquid assets are in an IRA rollover account with
Fidelity Investments where I have been trading stocks for over 20 years to provide my main source of income. I'm not computer
literate, just use it to manage my money and to exchange emails. I cannot send attachments. On Sunday night, June, 16,2019, my
computer had a major malfunction. I called Gtek for help. I am severely hard of hearing and have trouble understanding people,
especially non-native English speakers. On Monday, 6/17/18, a Mr. Steve K spent hours fixing my problem. It took so long because it was extremely difficult for me to understand his instructions. He sold me a 2 year contract for $299. I had to place my
check on my printer for him to collect immediately. I found this odd (my 1st experience doing this), however, I desperately had
to get my computer back to be able to trade stocks ASAP so I agreed. On Wednesday, August 14, 2018, My computer went
down again and I called Gtek and dealt with Mr Steve Kam once more. After a laborious process, he fixed my problem and
while he had control of my computer, informed me that I must purchase a "Lifetime Windows 10 License" from Microsoft for
a fee (one-te charge) of $399.99 plus tax =$425.He insisted that this was mandatory. This smelled fishy to me, especially
when he insisted that I pay by check, MADE OUT TO Gtek, mediately. He assured me that Microsoft would be sending me
my "Lifetime License" by email. As he had control of my computer, that and I needed to trade stocks, and I had no idea how to
get control back, I put my check on the printer and he completed the transaction. Needless to say, I never heard from Microsoft.
I did get a copy of a Gtek invoice ( $425.) indicating it was for "Premium Updates". At that time, I knew I had been victimized
by a professional scam artist working for an unscrupulous and devious company. After many months of self-flagellation and
the feeling of falling off the turnip truck, I managed to almost forget this painful episode. It's hard for me to believe, but on
11/4/19, Mr Steve Kam called me again with news that my new computer (installed 10/6/19) had Serious security problems
involving Microsoft Office and Outlook which were on my new computer and I needed a "LIFETE MICROSOFT LICENSE"
to clean up these problems for a one-te payment of $520 !!! A little wiser now, I attempted to get him to send me an email
stating this "wonderful" offer in writing (ALL other clas had been verbal only). I even pointed out to h*** I had purchased
a 'Lifetime' Microsoft license from Him before and I wasn't deceased yet! He must have felt that I was absolutely the most
naive and dumbest old it he ever scammed. I told h*** I had to consult my son (in order to get control back) and would let
him know. He cautioned me to call back within a day or two to buy that license. I did NOT call him and, as of today, thank
goodness, I never heard back from Mr. Kam. A few weeks ago, I had en epiphany and checked with Revdex.com of Dublin, Ohio
and after seeing the "F Rating" and the other consumer complaints I decided to file my own complaint today. These people
are unscrupulous, devious scam artists with experienced "actors" employed to cheat the public.Any help you might be able
to render me would be very graciously appreciated. Thanks for listening !!

I have NOT received Anything from Gtek and have no record of any attempt to reach me. The last actual contact was on 11/4/19 when they tried to sell me a 2nd "Lifetime License" for $520.

I have lived a life of honesty and integrity and take my obligations seriously. Over my 90 year lifetime I have NEVER been sued or accused of ANY act of dishonesty. My last written FICO report (2/20/18) was 844. I never bother to check but I'm certain a current one would be very similar.

Gtek has an "F" rating with the Revdex.com. I did NOT purchase a "Service". I was told I had to buy a"Lifetime License" from Microsoft but my check was to Gtek for $425.00. This is what I expect to receive reimbursement for. Thank you for your efforts in my behalf.

Their statement is false. I did NOT say that I lacked contact info. for Gtek. I DID say that I never received any messages from them after their last phone call to me, on 11/4/19 (when they tried to sell me a 2nd "Lifetime Microsoft License). The fact that THEY just emailed ME on 1/24/20 proves that they had my contact info. BUT DID NOT USE IT in the inter*** to email, me as I stated. I have no interest or desire to communicate further with this mendacious company directly. THAT IS WHY I CONTACTED The Revdex.com.

Very responsive and good skill for me. The service is trust worthy.

All of the technicians, especially Alok and Steve, were very knowledgeable, professional and courteous. We are very confident that the upgrade to Windows 10, Webroot security, and the all around upgrade to our computer files will serve us well. Thank you very much !!

On March 5, 2018 I was having an issue with my HP OfficeJet 4635 Printer. I looked up online the telephone # for HP. The telephone # came up as
(. I spoke with a technician who said his name was Alok K from HP. I authorized him to Screen Share my IMAC Computer and said that I had (237) Virusus and that I needed to install an Antivirus and Malware protection. Being that I am not computer savvy, I went along with it as I thought he was legitimate. I proceeded to write a check for $120.00 for a 1 Year Antivirus Subscription Fee toad made the check out to: Gtek Info Solutions in Dublin, Ohio. He asked me to scan a copy of my check and I did. He sent me an Invoice with my customer id# and etc. marked as "Paid". I can't believe that I fell for this scam. You need to do something about this company and stop them for ripping off other innocent people like me.

Hi,

Not sure what inspired her to complaint on this forum after such a long time. She contacted us for the problem, we explained that this is a 3rd party paid support. Moreover, she was very happy to receive our services at that time. Attaching some documents for the reference.

Thanks,

I recently called Gtek to help resolve some of my computer issues since I have an account with them, and I found the technician to be very professional and knowledgeable. He was able to resolve my issues quickly and completely. Even though I originally thought I was overcharged last year, I have found that they are a legitimate business with good computer technicians. I will call Gtek whenever I have concerns about my computer.

I had problems that GTEK resolved. So far I am ok with what they have done.

A thoroughly unprofessional and downright suspicious organisation. Steer well clear.

The man`s name I believe to be Garg, has been calling ,using various phone numbers. He wants $495 for work that was not done on my computer. He or some one for him has called at least four times a day. I made the mistake to let him work to, supposidly, clean up my computer. I have papers and check to show that this was paid. Do not trust any one out side the US to do anything for you. I do not know how to handle this. I am 82 years young and not in good health.

We need either the date her card was charged, or her account number to find her in our billing files.

On September 20, 2017 purchased Microsoft Office Pro 2016 for the amount of $161.86 from GTEK. The tech sold me this software program and proceeded to install the program after collecting payment via viral check transfer from my bank checking account. The installation took several hours and GTEK had problems installing the MS Office 2016 onto my laptop and "promised" me that they would "work" on it and GTEK would get back to me October 4th, 2017. I contacted GTEK and was told they were still working on it and "promised" a GTEK tech would call back but no one ever did. I called again October 17th and spoke to Alok K and he confirmed that the MS Office 2016 could not be installed due to software difficulties and I requested that since I paid for the MS Office 2016 I should get a refund. GTEK was aware that I had Windows 7 on my laptop and prior to trying to install the MS 2016 software I had questioned GTEK tech that it would be compatible with my laptop and tech assured me is was, "don't worry" they said. I explained that I did not get what I paid for. I do not have MS Office 2016 installed on my laptop. Alok K said he would process a billing refund. October 18 and 19, I called again to confirm that the refund was being processed and the tech dept. verbally confirmed that I should get some followup the following week. Once again no GTEK followup. Sent email to GTEK tech division with all the info, no response. October 26th, spoke to 3 individuals, one female, "John and William" I doubt that it was their real names as each time I called either they avoided giving me a name or a fictitious id.
I asked to be transferred to the billing department and they refused stating all is well. October 27th I sent an email to the billing department giving all the details requesting the status of my billing and refund issue. I have called 5 times and sent 2 emails. Last conversation with GTEK I indicated I was willing to work with them to resolve this issue but I find that I am getting the run around since they have already have my money. I had to assess the initial problem that the MS Office 2016 was not compatible with my laptop and GTEK did not advise me of the situation until 2 weeks after the initial call on September 20th. Attempting to install the MS 2106 they messed up my virus program which got resolved October 4th and that's when I discovered GTEK techs were not being honest and lying to me. The GTEK techs kept telling me "don't worry, I promise" this and that which in the end comes to a bunch of nothings. I did not get what I paid for and what a refund. They said I should buy a new computer!

Revdex.com:

I reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID 12474011, and find the resolution is satisfactory to me.

I finally received the check in the mail. GTEK made it very difficult to resolve the issue that I had to resort to the Revdex.com in Ohio. Their customer service was very poor always giving me the run around.

Regards

I was told that I needed Microsoft word to print out my estimates on QuickBooks and that my computer was infected, so I turned over control of my computer to a technician at Gtek info solutions to install Microsoft Word and clean up my computer. I woke up this morning to the same issue on my computer and I have TWO charges of $485.85 on my debit card.

Gtek Info Solutions Response

Hi,

We have already cancelled the order and refunded full amount to the customer. It might take 3-4 business days from the bank side to credit the amount back to the customer.

Thanks,
