THIS IS MY LAST ATTEMPT TO RESOLVE THIS AMICABLY. I am following up regarding an issue we have had recently with fines from the IRS that resulted from when GTM handled filing our taxes for our Nanny during 2010 to 2012. (2500 lien/tax assessment) Apparently the EIN set up for my husband was done incorrectly and whatever was required to be filed in a timely manner from GTM pursuant to our contractual agreement for taxes with the IRS was not done correctly. This came to our knowledge in November 2019 and has forced us to address a lien for GTM’s mistakes and currently just under $1,100 in attorneys fees indicated in the original emails sent. To date GTM has failed to respond after multiple emails. This will likely require us to incur additional tax attorney and civil attorney fees.
A lien/hold was filed against us that we were unaware of - and it required us to hire a tax attorney to get to the bottom of it and to file for an abatement. We are again requesting reimbursement for the legal fees for this - totaling just under $1,100. I have attached a copy of the formal invoice and we requested payment in full of the assessment of 2500 and the attorneys fees of $1100.
We had the same issue that resulted in this fine/lien/levy when GTM filed nanny taxes between 2005 and 2007 - at which time GTM addressed the issue and obtained an abatement after we received certified letters from the IRS. The errors are in regard to the EIN number set up by GTM approximately 14 years ago. We can show a history of this behavior to further support our claim.
We have tried on multiple occasions over the last 2 months to obtain a resolution with GTM. Our next step will be litigation.
We have taken some time to review our history of communications with you back to your initial date of service with GTM Payroll Services. We were able to locate the W-2 matter from 2005 that you refer to and which was addressed by Ashley in our office on 12/30/2008. We are unable to locate any additional notices related to any IRS matters from that date forward until your communication of 12/6/2019 so we cannot address any actions that were or were not taken by GTM on the matter of “taxes for our Nanny during 2010 to 2012."
In order to assist in resolving matters related to services provided by GTM Payroll Services, we need to receive timely notice from you along with a copy of the notice from the originating tax agency. Would you kindly provide evidence that such notice was provided as it would be quite unusual for a tax notice to go unattended and goes against our policy of prompt attention to all client service inquiries.

I contacted GTM for *** accounting services as well as insurance brokerage services. I tried to create a new account online and they immediately charged my credit card $889 up front without the service being fully setup. I tried to contact the company via phone and email to finish setting my account and they were unresponsive. I ended up signing up for accounting services with another provider and asked GTM for a refund multiple times, however they were not responsive despite escalation to an executive. I have filed a dispute with my credit card company.
GTM Payroll Services was informed of his request for a refund on April 2 and he has been provided a full refund.

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID, and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me. I did ask for a refund on March 28, not April 2nd as stated by their initial response.
