Excellent Work, Leaves Site Neat and Clean
We have a large turret on the west side of our house that has with over 250 sq/ft of windows up and downstairs combined. We have had a leak problem for years when there is a driving rain from the west; water would drip from the top of the window casements on the lower level. We installed new windows to fix the problem; the problem remained. Ten years ago, we had a contractor tear out the cedar/stucco siding between the upper and lower levels and close it up again to eliminate the problem. That fix lasted a year and we were then back to having water come in when there was a driving rain from the west.
I contacted GTO Stucco and they responded immediately. This was at the end of November of 2020. Their quote to fix the problem was high because they would have to tent the site and heat the enclosure for materials to set up and cure. Since we have never had a problem during the winter, we asked for a quote for this spring. The price was significantly lower due to the time of year. When I was ready for them to come, I called and they started the project a week later.
The workers did the demo work quickly and it became obvious why we had a problem. The prior contractor had not installed the flashing properly behind the stucco. GTO cleaned out all the edges, filled all the gaps between the backer boards and brick surround. They then installed the lower trim and reinstalled new copper flashing. Once the flashing was in they installed a water barrier membrane over the backer board and over the flashing so that any moisture that could get behind the stucco would weep out over the flashing rather than behind it and into our house. They also used newer stucco materials that are flexible and should not leak.
There finished product looked great. And, they cleaned up the work-site so well that you didn't know they were here. The planting beds had little damage from footwork or scaffolding. I was thrilled with the quality of work and the speed that it was done. The most amazing thing was that I was also going to call a roofing company because a large concrete roof cap time had come off my turret and I needed to have it reinstalled. And I was going to call a painter acquaintance to patch up some a part of my chimney which is atop a 45 pitch roof 40 feet above ground. After GTO Stucco left the site, I realized that they replaced the roof tile and they painted the chimney. The extra work they did at no charge and without me asking them to do it.
I would have these guys back any time. I asked for business cards and have been giving them to some of my friends in construction related businesses that could use services and workers such as GTO Stucco provides.

Thank for your your reviewI have not heard from you in months but always returned your callsLast we spoke we agreed to send APS out to check our work and verify it was done correctlyThe good thing about the APS program is the quality controls that are built into the programTo my surprise, APS gave us a perfect score for the quality of the work which is saying a lotOur documents show your duct leakage was reduced significantly down to below 1% leakage from more than 14% initiallyThe insulation was increased from an 4" initially to 14" I reviewed the initial audit data and past conversations we had and you told me that your bill did initially drop after the work was done but that you also lowered the thermostat by several degrees! That would seem like a success! We did note the home still needs shade screens and to replace the year old AC system, but our work was done correctlyI'm sorry you feel you did not get the value you paid $for but if the thermostat is lowered even with more insulation and ductwork sealing your bill will likely increase

APS actually kicks contractors out of the program for recommending things that homeowners do not need like radiant barrier, KVAR units or reflective paintOur recommendations came directly from the results of your energy audit and test If your home was in good shape, we tell you that and never recommend upgrades you don't needIt is not possible that the work done could not have helped, the attic had 4" of insulation to start with and now it has 14", the ductwork was sealed to almost zero leakage from having major leaks beforeAll the work was verified by APSIt is possible you need to replace the old HVAC system still and have it done right for airflow because it sounds like you are having an airflow issueI would be happy to have our foreman come out to take a look and give you some optionsOur crew worked hard in your tight attic last summer and the work was verified by APS as correctI can offer a refund of all my profit from your job of $400, or I can give you the credit towards purchasing a new HVAC systemThe materials and labor has already been done on your home and there is no way we can take it back and nothing wrong was done on your home other than having an old HVAC system which we are getting blamed for

The only time we were allowed access to the house she forced us to leave after minutes and we could not even check if the registers were sealed from the attic instead of from inside the house She lives in a gated community so I cannot go to her home to speak with her directly and I have tried contacting her through her work email which I tracked down, but she never responded to She repeatedly was yelling at my employees and forced them to leave for no reasonThe air handler service door was sealed as per our contract because there was significant leakage and it does not cause major damage through the house She has filed a complaint with the [redacted] which is being dismissed because she has not responded to my requests by phone, emails or letter to attempt to fix any of the disputed claims If I can’t get a hold of her there is no way for me to try to come to a resolution or fix the problem! I filed a lien on the home because she has not paid the remaining balance and will not let us finish our job She hired her own contractors to do the repairs she thought were necessary without consulting us first or attempting to work with us to find a solution I repeatedly told her I was willing to give a refund of the remaining balance due and fix any issues that were done wrong but she refused and would not let us back in the home, refused to have further contact with us and went to hire her own contractors and file these claims As of 5-7-I have spoken to Wendy and we have come to a resolution and she has agreed to remove the Revdex.com complaint

Thank for your your review. I have not heard from you in months but always returned your calls. Last we spoke we agreed to send APS out to check our work and verify it was done correctly. The good thing about the APS program is the quality controls that are built into the program. To my surprise,...

APS gave us a perfect score for the quality of the work which is saying a lot. Our documents show your duct leakage was reduced significantly down to below 1% leakage from more than 14% initially. The insulation was increased from an 4" initially to 14".  I reviewed the initial audit data and past conversations we had and you told me that your bill did initially drop after the work was done but that you also lowered the thermostat by several degrees! That would seem like a success! We did note the home still needs shade screens and to replace the 17 year old AC system, but our work was done correctly. I'm sorry you feel you did not get the value you paid $2520 for but if the thermostat is lowered even with more insulation and ductwork sealing your bill will likely increase.

APS actually kicks contractors out of the program for recommending things that homeowners do not need like radiant barrier, KVAR units or reflective paint. Our recommendations came directly from the results of your energy audit and test.  If your home was in good shape, we tell you that and never recommend upgrades you don't need. It is not possible that the work done could not have helped, the attic had 4" of insulation to start with and now it has 14", the ductwork was sealed to almost zero leakage from having major leaks before. All the work was verified by APS. It is possible you need to replace the old HVAC system still and have it done right for airflow because it sounds like you are having an airflow issue. I would be happy to have our foreman come out to take a look and give you some options. Our crew worked hard in your tight attic last summer and the work was verified by APS as correct. I can offer a refund of all my profit from your job of $400, or I can give you the credit towards purchasing a new HVAC system. The materials and labor has already been done on your home and there is no way we can take it back and nothing wrong was done on your home other than having an old HVAC system which we are getting blamed for.

I just talked with the homeowner and the job is complete and the homeowner is happy.David###-###-####

Thank  you for your response. Perhaps you never received the last 2 or 3 messages I left, but I did call several times after I made my last payment, and no one ever returned my call. It surprised me because you had all been very wonderful to work with to that point, even doing your best to fix the "mess" problems with insulation. APS did come out. I explained to the person the issues I was having. He said he was there to check to see if you did the work you said you were going to do; he did suggest I file a complaint with APS for the insulation that was -- and still does sometimes -- fall out of the attic. He was specifically concerned with the pile of insulation on my water heater (he was concerned with it getting into the tank). My concern isn't so much whether the work done is the work the contract said you would perform. My concern is whether the work done was the right work to do. The auditors assured me my home would be more comfortable. It is simply the opposite of that. I am awake at 2am right now because I wake at this time most nights too hot to sleep. There are rooms in my house incredibly hotter than others. Yes, I have had to turn the thermostat down because the temperature I used to keep the house at is not bearable anymore. a shade screen was installed. Thank you for clarifying the exact amount spent on the work. I did not have my paperwork with me when I filed the complaint, and I apologize for getting the amount wrong. I know the work was completed. Again, my concern is that the work completed has not accomplished what was stated it would. I would really like to come to a solution for this. Thank you so very much.

My need was to repair some damaged dryvit type stucco on the front of an office building in Milwaukee. GTO gave me two prices, one to repair it and one replace all the dryvit. I elected to replace. From my first contact with Carlos asking for a quote until the job was completed took a little less than a month. The tenants were pleased that the job was done promptly and they were very pleased with GTO. I highly recommend GTO.

Carlos and his crew did an amazing job on my fireplace remodel. New stone was installed along with a large custom piece of crown molding that was made in his shop. Very satisfied with the finished product, looks awesome!
