Guaranteed Price Movers Reviews (27)

Both Mike and Rolando were entirely professional and courteous with our move in process.

We moved our belongings from a downtown storage facility to a very strictly run HOA building downtown which required dotting the t's and crossing the i's from start to finish.

Absolutely no complaints from us.

Thank you guys. We'll definitely see you again next time. :)

All I can say really is that this moving company is really amazing in every way! From the booking to the movers and to the estimate! Even to the move itself. Everything went smoothly and I’m definitely hiring them again! The booking process was very easy, the movers [redacted] and [redacted] showed up on time. These guys were fabulous and organized with the timing and the whole move, which made my life a whole lot easier. Amazing from start to finish

This is my second time using these guys - they're awesome! Very fast - incredibly nice and communicative. My movers were Mike and Emil! Ask for them if you can. The next time I move I will definitely be using them again!!

I have seen the great job that GP does with their moves. My cousin used them last year and they took their time ensuring that everything was packaged quickly and safely.

This time around, we had the opportunity to work with Mike and Ken. They too, were fast and efficient, taking care of all the furniture. Anytime you need to move, choose GP Moving Co. and ask for Mike and Ken please!

My gf recommended this company for my move.

When I called them they gave me a good quote, so I didnt have to call anywhere else.

They arrived on time and packed everything nicely.

I checked everything after they unloaded and nothing was broken or missing.

So I guess I would use them again.

I have discovered that Guaranteed Price Movers is the legal name for City Moving. DOT US [redacted]. I received inaccurate customer expectation setting from City Moving from the start. Before I signed, salesperson Brady Robinson told me the following: 1) crib disassembly and reassembly was included in the price, 2) Brady would be my end-to-end contact throughout the move process, 3) that wardrobe boxes would be included at no additional charge, and 4) I would be surveyed throughout the process to ensure my satisfaction with services rendered. Out of these commitments, I can report only that the crib was indeed disassembled. On the delivery day, Zachary Lawrence informed us to have an additional $300 in cash/money order for long haul and/or shuttle service. Aside from this being more than 15% of the total moving charge, the cash/money order only mandate for additional charges should have been set at the front end. The brokered firm that performed delivery reported this happens often. Zachary also informed me that City Moving would charge me $60 an hour wait time if we wanted to get a smaller truck. The contract, however, states a $50 an hour wait time. Interactions with this company post contract signing felt shady. On delivery day, not only was the crib not assembled, the hardware wasn't provided. I have initiated a claim providing the crib details (Delta Crib & Changer. Style: 8[redacted]), but have not heard back. We need the hardware to assemble. Movers did not clean up after themselves, leaving a mess for us to clean up.

This has been a NIGHTMARE! If you don’t mind not getting your stuff on time, being ignored, treated rudely, not having your calls returned, & being charged for storage that you don’t need, go ahead and use this company. We used City Moving for our move from California to Hawaii. Even though City Moving was more expensive than other quotes we got, we decided to go with them because of their good reviews & assurance that we would be well taken care of. Unfortunately we are extremely disappointed. I'll start from the beginning…

My wife & I travel around the world & work as Christian missionaries. Because of our busy traveling schedule, we must plan things well in advance. We planned our whole year around this move. From the very beginning, we gave our City Moving representative, Michael, the specific dates on when we need to receive our stuff in Hawaii. He assured us that our dates wouldn’t be a problem & that if our stuff arrives in Hawaii early, it would be stored with no charge. With these assurances he won our business. Unfortunately none of his assurances came true.

Our pick up date was May 27 & our delivery date was July 5. We understood that it could take up to 45 days from pick up to delivery. Michael did not tell us that it was actually up to 45 days from the delivery date that we choose. Had we know this, we would have gone with another company because we only had 2 weeks to move in, before our next mission trip to California & Africa.

On May 27 they sent out 2 movers (Jim & Rolando) who did an excellent job of packing & moving our stuff. They get 5 stars! However, a few weeks later we received a $789 bill for storage fees. We did not ask for nor had any need for storage so we knew it had to be a mistake. We tried to call Michael, left messages, but he never got back to us. Its like once he secured our business he stopped all communication & simply moved on to the next customer. We finally connected with Tia (another manager) & explained the situation. She said that she would get back to us but never did.

When our delivery date arrived on July 5, we called City Moving to see what time the movers would arrive. We were then informed that our items were NOT SHIPPED & were IN STORAGE IN CALIFORNIA! We were told that because we didn’t pay the storage fees, they kept our items in storage. But there was no reason for our stuff to be in storage. Also, Michael told us that storage would be in Hawaii. Not in Cali! City moving acknowledged that they accidentally over charged us for storage. So they then reduced it from $789 to $195 and were waiting to receive this payment before they would release our stuff from storage. We had already paid them $3,868 & they didn’t ship our stuff because of a couple hundred dollars? What in the world? We talked to Tia for an explanation. She was extremely rude & was not hearing us out. She did not give any resolutions & said that it was our fault. Nor was she willing to check with Michael & told us that he was busy. Tia rudely insisted that we pay the $195 storage fee or our stuff would be kept in storage and not shipped. So we paid the fee for storage (we never needed) in order to speed up the process of receiving our stuff. But even after that they could not give us a delivery date. After many days of ignored & unreturned phone calls, we finally spoke with another Manager (Jeffery). He is the first person who actually listened, apologized, & got our stuff out of storage & on the next boat. He also assured us that the $195 storage fee would be waived & refunded (although we’re still waiting for that to happen). It’s now July 26 (3 weeks since we expected to receive our stuff) & City Moving still has not given us a definite delivery date.

Because of the incompetent & unprofessional management of our stuff, we have had to rearrange our detailed itinerary, cancel our Cali meetings, disappoint hundreds of people who expected us to come, waste many hours trying to contact City Moving, & have had to spend over $400 to cancel & rebook our flights in order to make our Africa trip. We feel like City Moving should waive the rest of our balance and at the VERY LEAST, cover the $400 of airfare changing fees.

Michael has never returned any of our calls/emails. Tia was extremely rude. The owner of the company, Arnon, gave us his personal number & seemed to be a reasonable gentleman. We spoke to him 1 week ago and he promised to look into our case & make things right. He even said that he would “treat us like his own family”. We spoke with him again yesterday & he still had not come to a conclusion on our case. He said he would do it & get back to us today. He hasn’t. We are still waiting. We are supposed to fly out to Africa next Monday. We hope & pray that we get our stuff before then. I will post a follow up review once we receive our items & see what City Moving will do to make this horrific situation right. I’m hoping there will be a happy ending to this nightmare!

They didn’t hesitate to do anything I asked from them. They even cleaned my new place after themselves, and made sure I was completely satisfied with everything. They did the job exactly like they were supposed to.I was very happy and fully pleased with this moving company. I don’t think I would be using any other moving company! Absolutely amazing!

This moving company was great because they worked with me throughout this whole entire move. They are stress-free!! Usually moving companies are very stressful and make you anxious. This company is amazing!!

This is the best moving company. They gave me a good price and the customer service was great too! Whoever is looking to move should definitely use these guys. Highly recommended!!!

I recently used GP Movers to move from dtla to mid-city and my moving team consisted of Eliseo, Oscar and Javier. They did an amazing job. They were extremely careful with all of my belongings and very respectful and friendly. They worked hard the entire time and really facilitated the whole process, which was great because there's really no way to make moving enjoyable. Definitely recommend this company. They even gave me a small box of chocolates at the end!

Fredy, Herman, and Javier were AMAZING!!! They worked so well as a team and made moving effortless. They were organized, friendly, and careful.

UPDATE

Had to move again, obviously didn't waste my time with any other moving company! This time we had Marco, Oscar and Michael. they made what could have been a very difficult move seamless. They showed up exactly when they said they would, worked efficiently and were friendly and professional. Do not waste your time looking for another local moving company just book these guys!

We had a smooth and stress-free move with GP Moving last week. In an industry rife with shadiness, we were so happy to be dealing with true professionals.

From the very beginning, when Abby helped me figure out what we needed and booked the move, through the very end we were in great hands. We had just painted our new place and we assumed we'd have to have the painters back in to touch up all the walls after the move. Not at all. And there were some big pieces being wedged through tight corners! Edwin, Mauri, Rafael and David worked their butts off, and treated our stuff and our space with incredible care.

Hoping I don't have to move again for a long time, but if I do, I'm calling GP Moving first.

Best moving company I have ever used so and probably the best that I will ever use. Absolutely first class service, from the customer service to the estimator to the great and kind movers. This moving company is absolutely great!

It went even better than I expected it to go. The movers did their job perfectly! They worked quickly and they had to move a few big pieces of furniture going down the stairs, because the elevator in my apartment does not work. I barely even heard them complain. I am proud to say that this is definitely a highly recommended moving company!

I used City moving company to move some studio equipment a few months back for work, so when it came time to move my own apartment I knew exactly who to call.

Our movers, Krok and Daniel, did such an amazing job moving my entire apartment I don't think I'll ever use another moving company!

They were professional, friendly and efficient- I couldn't be happier with the results.

What I liked most about them was that they offered a lot of help. They always provided us with the best communication and were always approachable if we had any questions or concerns.

I requested the services of GP Movers, or Guaranteed Price Movers, for a move out of state very recently. I saw that they were a fairly large company and therefore reputable.
It was when they came to our house that I saw them in action. The movers where very polite, well put together guys. They had a "lead" guy, which also gave a feeling of structure. That was good. They packed what we couldn't very carefully and were diligent about everything.
Then came the aftermath. This was after it was all said and done. Despite having an inventory taken and of all major appliances accounted for, the lead mover, [redacted], told me that there was more than what was listed for storing it all. So I was charged an extra 570$ on the spot.
I did accept it, as they do warn you before hand that you may get charged for it. Then [redacted] went into other things which made me, and even my brother in-law, question him.
You do not send laborers to your home to remove your hard earned, highly valued things, and expect them to act as legitimate diplomats to your company, and that is clearly something this company thinks works for them. This is why I am giving them the most negative review I can.
[redacted] pointed out on the work order several things that made no sense, then lead to me realizing he was trying to lead me into something else.
"Upon pick-up" is specified on the work order--meaning, what you will and will not be charged for upon pick up. One thing waived was the "Elevator and long haul fee", a fee of up to 75$. [redacted] tried telling me that this was in effect--that we owed the fee.
I pointed out to him that this was not correct and it is only upon delivery. He looked confused, but more surprised, that I had actually read the thing and called him out on it.
I was completely put off from that point. The next thing he nearly insisted on was what set off the red flag for me, and as I mentioned, even my brother in law had to say something.
Once again [redacted] was trying to point out something that cost more money suddenly. It was about the extra packing and labor. He was insisting that the packing materials and labor were two different things. I again pointed out and showed him the clause and that it clearly stated this was not the case. My brother in law stepped in and explained more clearly--in Spanish.
My stress level went through the roof. I did not know what else to expect from this company after this.
Now as I write this, the "dispatch" department there in California has one person trying to reach me. She had been calling the wrong number the whole time, and emailing me. Despite my calling every extension, not one human being answered the phone. From Monday to Thursday afternoon--not one single person, for one extension, ever picked up. It went to an answering machine.
I left a frustrated email with [redacted], the dispatch rep. She had, as I mentioned before, been trying to call my old number.
What made no sense is that [redacted], a sales rep there, and Avi Sharik, an inventory rep, both had my correct number. Even the MOVERS had my number right, when they called me thirty minutes before arriving.
However they are running things there is beyond me. But it does not seem at all organized beyond making a sale and getting their own customers' blood pressure high. I would highly recommend someone look into this company's structural areas of communication, meaning, the departments they have handling everything. Because if they are as big as they make themselves out to be, you should not get a voicemail for every single extension you call and even if that is the case, you should get a call back or an email within a few days. Not a week.
I am still waiting on "[redacted]" to get back to me, because all of our things are in their hands right now--and they expect the other half of payment upon delivery.
Not recommended. I should have paid heed to the other reviewers.

They sold us lies and we have had nothing but issues. The sales guy was really nice and sold us that they were a high rated professional company. Then came the date of pick up and they can early I the morning with a on the day of pick up no call before that. The movers we gangster looking guys that would tak bad about other customers. And we had some stuff not listed and they charged us a ton more to ship it. With out explaining how the got the sum. And told us if we don't pay they can just leave our stuff or pay. So after being strong armed they too our stuff. Once it was gone we waited 5 days and started wondering where our stuff was. Cause no one called us to tell us. Well come to find out it was sitting in a warehouse the last 5 days. After being assured that we would get our stuff this weekend. I got a call to day saying it won't be till sometime the end of next week. They were rude crude and lied a lot. Would never tell friends nor family nor coworkers to us them! I will be yelping and going on other review site and giving negative reviews too

This moving company is absolutely amazing! They had provided me with the best service a moving company can offer. They made me feel very confident throughout the whole move by being responsible, patient and kind. Why settle for less if you can hire these guys? Definitely hiring them again!!

They gave me a very good price and were understanding with everything. They’re honestly so great and wonderful .I definitely wouldn't think more than once to hire them again for any of my next moves. Amazing Job Guys!!!

I asked GP Movers for a pickup date of their choice in order for the goods to be delivered on a specific date. That way, I could plan my travel to be at the new house when the goods arrived. They gave a pickup date, and a 3 day delivery window, then charged an extra $581.

While the extra cost seemed unusual, I didn't object. Actual performance was even more unusual. They missed their delivery window by a full two weeks which meant that I had to live out of a suitcase and sleep on an air mattress for two weeks.

Things happen, so that could be forgiven. However, when the goods finally showed up, they insisted on full payment INCLUDING the $581 delivery guarantee bonus. They insisted on paying them cash before they would even open the truck.

That's simply dishonest.

The service that this moving company provided me was great! Everything went great from start to finish! I highly recommend these professional guys.
What I really liked about the movers is how they made me feel comfortable and didn’t disappoint me at all.. They didn’t damage anything while carrying the items. They are seriously awesome. I highly recommend them to anyone.
