On 3/14/*** *** came to Guaranty Express Tax Service for tax preparation services. Miss*** completed preliminary paperwork I completed her taxes Upon completion and required signature of standard documents it was determined Miss*** had a debt with the Department of
Education To assist Miss*** in obtaining a full refund, I referred her to another independent preparer who has similar situations, consolidate debt. I informed *** ***, that I was not responsible, nor do I work in conjunction of any kind with this agency. She agreed to proceed and her file was transferred to *** *** an independent Tax preparer to assist her with the consolidation. *** ***, leases a space in my office, as do several other preparers and I am not responsible for the actions of any of their work with their client’s other than to verify preparers work credentials, compliance with federal regulations and to oversee the operations of tax preparationThat’s why upon referring *** *** to *** ***, I informed her I (my business) was not a party to this process and asked if she was interestedShe stated yes and thus her relationship with *** and third-party (Doan Solutions) began. It was not until June 16th, that a person called my office leaving only a phone number did I become of aware of this situationThe caller would not leave a name or any details, so I was unaware of the matterBeing that I was out of town, not knowing a name or details of the matter I contacted the caller upon my return. I returned the week of June 19th, and contacted Miss***After a brief conversation, I made an appointment to speak with her on June 20thI requested that she bring verification of her conversation with *** *** and receipts of payments rendered. On June 20th, *** *** came in the office and stated that she had paid *** *** and provided me proof of receipt for $and $125.00, totaling $She stated that she was out of a job and needed to get her taxes filed and was in contact with *** *** and that she believed and several conversations her calls were being blockedShe also, stated that she then reached out and spoke with William a representative with Doan SolutionsHe was the third-party point of contact that purchased student loan debts and *** *** was the client connection. She stated that on one occasion when she talked with *** *** she was told that she could borrow the balance of the fee owed Doan Solutions and pay from her taxes. I was not aware of any conversations after 3/14/when the client file was transferred to *** ***In fact, I prepared the taxes and have not been paid my $tax preparation feeNor have I transmitted the file because of non-pay. After Miss *** showed me the receipts of payments to Mrs ***, I agreed to pay her up front the $ and deal with the preparer separately to receive my reimbursementI did this because the client was in desperate need and I being the business owner wanted to show my good faith because I referred her in the first placeI even offer to connect *** *** with a person with a job opportunity. However, after I gave her the refund and she has not called or responded to our calls regarding this matter. I’ve operated with good faith and could have requested my tax preparation fee of $for services rendered in leu of providing her a refund. But instead now, I’m still waiting to be paid In concluding I believed that I handled the situation with *** *** appropriately. I provided her a full refund payment paid of $as requested. She stated she was completely satisfied with the transaction and would try to continue to work with Doan Solutions and return and pay me and file her taxes here It was not until I received a call on July 11, form *** *** that I became of aware of a complaint filed with the Revdex.com. I take my business seriously, and I had, and Miss *** knew that I had no affiliation with the third-party company or its terms. She was transferred to another independent preparer and she never contacted me about the matter until she called here on June 16th. Therefore, I am requesting this complaint be removed from my status and place appropriatelyI believe it is against me and my company, frivolous because she was paid in full and fraudulent because the complaint has no basis because she was paid in full. I on the other hand am still waiting for my promised payment from *** *** for my services rendered.
