It is important to understand the following points in this matter:1.Guardcloset.com operates as a consignment based business allowing high school band programs to sell used...

uniforms, equipment and other items online to supplement fundraising efforts and recoup money spent on items used for single seasons. Each item is unique and generally cannot be replaced.2.Guardcloset.com stores 95% of the items it sells in a warehouse facility in Carlisle, PA.3.Guardcloset.com does NOT store large, heavy items such as full band uniform sets, large props and floor coverings (the subject of this complaint) due to the increased cost of shipping those items to Carlsile, PA. We allow the consignor to keep the item(s) at their facility until sold.4.The consignor placed the listing for the disputed item in late September 2016.5.During the week of October 31 the consignor accepted an offer for the floor and notified Guardcloset.com on Monday, 10/31/16.6.The item was out of stock when the purchase was made by the complainant on Friday 10/28 and a full refund to the purchaser’s card was issued on Monday, 10/31. It posted to the bank account of Guardcloset.com on 11/2. (Credit Card refunds generally take between 24 and 48 hours to post.)7. I am providing documentation for the above listed transactions. I have two small children and try to dedicate the majority of my weekends to them. Checking email is not always a priority8.The complainant filed the Revdex.com compliant on 10/31 giving me no time at all to communicate to him that the refund would take 24-48 hours to process.9.The complainant’s request of settlement is completely unreasonable given that fact that floor covering can’t be replaced (it could be remanufactured at a considerably higher cost than purchasing the same item used) and that shipping these items can cost between $300 and $500 due to their weight and size.In conclusion, I have operated Guardcloset.com for 16 years without a single Revdex.com complaint. The complainant’s impatience and total lack of reason based on an item that was simply out of stock is frankly, unsettling.I issued an apology, an explanation of how the consignment process works and a discount offer for future purchases on 11/1. The complainant never gave me time to communicate with him before filing this complaint.I am willing to answer any additional questions at any time and have requested additional documentation from the consignor which you should be receiving within 5 business days.Sincerely,Brian P.Owner
