about our procedures. The public auction complained of was performed with all formalities and notices required by Section 182 of the Lien Law of the State of New York. The complainant was not listed as an interested party on our agreement. Unfortunately, it appears that the complainant and her sister failed to fully communicate with one another which caused any confusion the complainant may have. The address used for notices was as set forth under the Occupancy Agreement. Interestingly, the complainant states that she was unaware of a delinquency yet she appeared in our office in an attempt to resolve the outstanding balance with a personal check which is unacceptable to stop the auction process as stated in Paragraph 2 of our Occupancy Agreements. We have a ridiculously large file which shows over two dozen attempts to supply itemized invoices and notices to resolve the arrears. For months, the estate was given every opportunity to clear up the arrears to stop the auction process; yet, it failed to do so. Lastly, the derogatory remarks about our [redacted] are completely untrue and do not dignify any further comment.

Extremely disappointed with this storage facility. Didn't always feel this way; in fact, I recommended Guardian to anyone I could, or to anyone I knew, that may have been looking around or doing any price comparisons. You can't beat their prices and the management seemed friendly and courteous enough. However, I'm sorry to say, that is no longer the case, after learning that my unit had been compromised. My lock had been cut off, replaced with another, and the entire contents moved to an entirely different unit, of which I was not told about, nor was I given a unit number, nor was I told about any contract, let alone sign any contract, until I happened to stop by to access the unit. Not only had the contents been moved, but every box and tote had been rummaged through and many items gone. They may have meant nothing to anyone else, but meant everything in the world to me and I'll never be able to replace them; most everything taken, was sentimental, family items. In addition to this, I was now told that I owed this facility money if I wanted my belongings back and then threatened with losing everything in a public auction, if not paid. Messages were left and no replies or return calls received, as well as personally stopping by, but couldn't get anyone to talk to me personally about this. I finally had to resort to contacting the owner/headquarters and file a complaint and I did get an immediate response at that point. In the end, I was able to recover what was left of my belongings, but I'm pretty [redacted] disgusted and upset, to say the least. These places are a service to the public, that are supposed to be convenient, safe and secure. The public is not supposed to be concerned or have to worry about their belongings; most of which are all personal things, of need to no one else. That's why they offer the service and why we choose to pay for their service. I was hesitant to rent a unit to begin with, because I'm so afraid of the unforeseen or "what if" I fell behind in a payment, etc. NEVER would I have imagined that this would be the reason. To learn that your personal belongings have been rummaged through by someone else, is the most sickening and violating feeling. Extremely disappointed and disgusted. Zero stars from this customer.

Pls give me the name of the person on the contract and unit number, so I can better assist this customer[redacted]Sent from my iPad

Review: In addition to the above refrerenced complaint the company also

Failed to respond to written requests failed to provide customer service and there was inappropriate behavior by personnel.

My complaint is about guardian self storage in [redacted]. There was a storage unit that had been rented by my deceased brother. When he passed away my sister and I took over payments of the unit. We gave the company all contact information and any other requested information. Prior to entering into the contract when my brother still held the unit of pyments were missed they would contact me to resolve any issues. My sister made payments on the unit and I was an interested party to be contacted in the event there was an issue. She fell behind on her payments after becoming sick and losing her job. I had no idea the payments were behind. She has more then one storage unit there and everytime she asked for an itamized bill or requested one in writing she would get a total for four units and was told she had to pay that amount. They never contacted me and admitted they made no effort. They then proceeded to put the units up for auction without notificAtion to her or myself. I went to pay for the unit when I found out about it while it had been bid on the transaction was not complete as in they didn't pay for the unit yet. I spoke to the woman and she deleted love you told me there was nothing she could do. I said you didn't contact me as in the past she said she wasn't required to I said its part of an estate she said it didn't matter I said the transaction isn't complete she said I don't care. I begged her to let me pay for the unit. She made no effort to help me because she had an issue with my sister and behaved in a way seemed to be going out of her way to get the unit sold because of her dislike of my sister. She told me to leave which I did. My husband stayed behind to talk to her at which point she began to mock him because he has a speech impediment. I looked up the state law which said they were required to give notice to all interested parties in addition to provide an itamized bill and that I was allowed to pay for it before it was sold all of which I was denied.Desired Settlement: I would like my brothers things back.
