We received your letter today in regards to ID* *** The due date for the utility bills is the 25th of each month unless the 25th falls on a weekend or holidayIf that is the case, the due date is the following work dayThe customers can either have the payment to our office by mail or in
personWe have a drop slot at our office for the customer's convenience for after hoursThe month the customer is referring to was SeptemberThe due date was September 25, Before business hours on the 26th, the day after due date, we take everything that is in our drop slot and apply it to the customer accounts so late charges are not put on their account with the date of 9/25/stamped on the payment stubThe customer contacted us in October stating he paid it on due dateWe checked the stub and it was stamped on 9/26/With that being the case, he did not pay on due date but the day afterThe customer wanted the late charge taken off of the accountWe are not permitted to do this per The *** *** *** resolution dated 3/1/since it was paid after the due dateThe resolution states "For each month in which the monthly water bill is not paid by the due date, a 10% penalty will be added to that month's current amount due".
