Complaint: [redacted]
I am rejecting this response because:
In response to Mr. G[redacted]’s rebuttal,   unfortunately,  Mr. G[redacted] has a very distorted very of the
facts.
We were only requesting he stop by to look at a couple of
cracked pavers, a grout line and a high spot on a paver that needed further
tampering.    This was probably all of a
one hour job.   We were only asking him
or his daughter (Michelle) to stop by and look at them.
Let’s recap:In response to the
free  “disrepair” of the
wall;  there were approximately 4 brick
caps that needed to be cut to finish off our wall trim; (5+ minutes, if
that)   of which I gave his company extra
money in my final payment as a gesture in thanking him for allowing his worker
to take the time to cut them.
Although Mr. G[redacted] views this as “free  be”, he was compensated extra $ for the time
and effort it took his worker, again, all of 5 minutes, to cut them.  Which of course, Mr. G[redacted]  neglects to mention.
On another note, upon demolition of our previous
sidewalk,  his worker damaged our
driveway and he did not realize our driveway was under the sidewalk.  So lifted the pavement.   We did
not pursue this damage.Yes, my wife and I were pleased with the job.  However,
as I stated in my previous
letter,  all the pavers were wet and
unfortunately,  when wet, everything
blended and you cannot see the imperfections clearly until they dry.   Yes, the sidewalk is beautiful and that is
accurate and we commented to Michelle it looked good, but we only noticed some
areas after it dried.Communication timeline:
voice mail and email
7/23-24 ?  we called
Mr. G[redacted] because we wanted to discuss the height of the riser;  we had concerns it may have been too
high;  he assured us all was within code
and we accepted his response and disregarded any further discussion around
this;  furthermore, I do not have a
“sister in law” so no one came to the house and tripped.   Yes it
was a concern that riser was not within code and someone might trip,  but he assured us we were within code and we
dismissed it based on his word. However for the record,
there does appear to be a code
violation and we NOW are going to explore this  further. 7/31 we called Michelle to stop by regarding the above that
we wanted her to take a look at;  she asked
us to remind her the following she was involved in fund raiser

 Actually NO, my
daughter is sick with pneumonia and I won’t have the time.  You can call my dad [redacted] and he will
take care of it.  Sorry
RESPONSE [redacted]:    I am
sorry  hope all goes OK,  don’t worry about us.  We will be here.  I tried to call your dad several weeks ago
asking him to stop by but no return call.

8/20/2015  a letter
was sent to G[redacted] Landscaping outlining the cracked pavers, grout line and
lifted paver;  again only asking someone
stop by.
NO RESPONSE
8/31  Letter to RevDex.com
9/1  Mr. G[redacted] left
us a messages via our cell phone outing his response and his reaction  to our contacting of the Revdex.com.
He states in his rebuttal
“we did the job correctly.
Whatever has happened to that workmanship was not there when we
left”.
Does he really believe we could re-arrange a grout line
?   The chipped pavers were as a result
of the tampering of them into the ground which made them crack.
Obviously, Mr. G[redacted] very angry that we sent
a complaint to the Revdex.com and he was ..vulgar, used profanity and his tone felt
threatening while using inappropriate words to convey his anger ...via the message he left.   I cannot imagine based on a business he owned for
40 years, that we are the first customers that may have asked
him to come back to review a couple of areas.
The only time Mr. G, showed up on
our property was to do the initial estimate,
he never returned while the job was being performed nor at the completion of the job so his comments are based on his
worker’s assessment.  He personally never
reviewed the end result of the job himself.
We will continue our quest in correcting these issues with
another contractor and consider a small claims court application.   But we wanted the Revdex.com to be aware of the
credibility,  lapse of follow up from
this company, and unprofessionalism they have portrayed so that other customers
may not endure the wrath of Mr. G[redacted].
Overall, it is quite evident Mr. G[redacted].  had absolutely NO intentions of returning to
the job site to address any workmanship issues that we had so that is why we
had to take this to the next level.
In conclusion, his rebuttal focused on attacking my
character and overall he was completely unjustified in doing so.  He also reinforced and substantiated his unprofessionalism.   At this juncture based
upon Mr. G[redacted]’s attitude and his lack of character, I am reluctant to engage in any
further business transactions with him but am compelled to share our experience with you and others that may utilize his services. Thank you in advance.

I met with Mr [redacted] at his request to install a paver sidewalk. He also had a  poorly built step that needed rebuilding. We agreed on a price and I did everything that was asked and even went above and beyond to make sure that his walk and step were perfect. We even repaired his wall...

Review: We contracted with G[redacted] Landscaping on July 9 2015 to place a paver sidewalk at our [redacted] CT address. The work began week of July 20th and was concluded July 22, 2015 .

Upon the sidewalk pavers drying from being washed down that day, there were a couple of areas we wanted you to consider looking at and perhaps make a couple of adjustments. These areas will probably take all of an hour of time to repair from your professional staff.

We have placed several emails and calls asking for someone to come out to take a look at these areas and appointments were made and scheduled to appear and each was cancelled.

We fail to understand why a such a reputable business like G[redacted] Landscaping would not take the time to consider a service call after a sale?

I am writing this letter in hopes we can resolve this in a timely manner.Desired Settlement: No response to date: Above letter dated August 20, 2015 to owner Mike- to date no response; prior to us writing this letter, several voice mails and email communications transpired between us and Mike's employee (Michelle, the daughter) to share our dissatisfaction with just a couple of areas. Michelle was involved in working with an associate of G[redacted] in putting the sidewalk pavers in for this job. Appointments were schedule by Michelle to stop over; either they were cancelled or no show. Upon our last conversation with her; she said "call my father". Overall, there are couple of cracked pavers that may need to be replaced; another paver too high and not tampered down ; probably take one hour.
