Guilford Veterinary Hospital Reviews (1)

Review: I emailed the correspondence below. The billing person, [redacted], is only at the office one or two days a week. I left a message at the front desk several times also and was told that they would let [redacted] know that I am unable to pay $100 per month. I would like a more manageable arrangement. I am being threatened in letters from this office that they will not longer care for my pets or let me get their prescription food their. I do not want to change vet office because I have such great confidence in the doctors and they know my pets. Please see my note below and hopefully it will explain my circumstances better.

Cc: [redacted] Subject: Attention [redacted],

I received your letter today, and as information to you had mailed a payment of $40.00 to your office on May 9. I was not able to drop it off because of the timing with the two jobs and trying to work overtime, so I finally just dropped in the mail.

As I explained to you last year when [redacted] became very ill, $100 would be very difficult because I had just had surgery and was out of work for five months. Prior to that I had surgery in November and was out of work three months. Under duress and much medication, I agreed to your $100 arrangement.

There are a few things happening here that if we are to proceed forward we need to work out:

As I have told you and your staff (who tell me they make notes to you in the system), $100 is not feasible. I am doing the very best that I can. I pay for food and medication for Lucky. Recently, your office wanted to hold food and medication hostage from my dog because I could not afford to bring him in for a wellness check. I do not bring either dog for wellness checks because I can not afford to pay the fee and understand that if I can not pay, I can not bring them.

I would have paid last month; however, [redacted]ty, through her own operator error ran my debit card twice causing me to incur $70 worth of overage charges with my bank. There went your April payment.

I already have a [redacted] card I am paying on and do not own other credit cards. I do not think they will expand the amount to accommodate your request. They also do not charge as much as your office for a payment. I pay them $45.00.

I am working two jobs; behind on car payments; pay a mortgage, electric and support two children and a grandchild. I am still under doctor's care now for a [redacted] and am under much medical and prescription debt. I receive food from my church and friends otherwise, we would not eat.

Most importantly, my rescue dogs are like my children and mean the world to me. I am not going to just put my dogs down because they are too expensive. Plus along with all of this we suffered the loss of my [redacted], Precious.

That all being said, I am not sure where you would like to go from here. I am seeking more optimal employment and my health continues to strengthen; however, in the meantime I am willing to try to swing $50 per month; however, would prefer $40 to alleviate stress. I told your staff that I hope to bring both dogs in at the end of June for wellness checks. I am trying to get assistance with payment for that and need to know upfront what the cost will be.

[redacted] needs his medication and can only eat the [redacted]. He recently was very sick because both dogs got into raisins, but luckily bounced back. The pollen and heat affect him right now and he is very sluggish.

[redacted], all I can tell you is that I am doing the best in this economy and with this bump in the road that I am facing. I would appreciate some help and compassion from you and your office during this time of need. If you need me to seek assistance with another office, please let me know right away and send me both dogs' records. The only reason I have not moved sooner to another office is because the two doctors know my dogs very well and we are all comfortable with one another.

I await your response.

Regards,

[redacted]Desired Settlement: Would appreciate arranging a manageable monthly payment of $40 or $50 per month which I could pay consistently. I understand that I will pay for services and food on day of receipt. A little compassion would be helpful. I feel for them and what they do for work, I am only asking for the same consideration. I am not trying to shrug my responsibilities, but have fallen on some hard times.
