And they know it I sent my builder up there hour round trip to show them why it collapsed but they want somebody to pay for there mistakePlain and simple LOOK AT THE PICTURE that we took there at there house and tell me that it was draining properly????

I am rejecting this response because: I should not be the one who has to do the leg work to get this fixed by contacting The homedepot and get or contact nail manufacturer. *** told me that he would send someone over to put screws in. He also said he let the fellow who installed the deck "go" for whatever reason. I suspect he had too many complaints on him for the bad workmanshipRegards,

 Complaint: 10639649
I am rejecting this response because: Mr. [redacted] and Mr. [redacted] are responsible for the collapse of my patio cover. The structure did not collapse from improper maintenance of a "downspouts" as [redacted] stated, The patio cover collapsed because of poor construction and poor craftsmanship. I contacted a building inspector who came to my home today and inspected the collapsed structure. After he inspected the patio cover he informed me that he had found numerous violations of code in the construction of my patio cover and these violations are the reason the structure collapsed. He stated that my patio cover at 20' x 30'  is very large and was improperly supported. (1.) Patio covers overs over 15' in size should have a minimum of 6 posts, [redacted] constructed my patio cover with only 3 and it double the size.  (2.) Patio covers over 20' in length should have a minimum of 3 downspouts, as my structure only had one downspout even though in my contract I paid for two. (3.) The Beams [redacted] constructed were to small in size and 2 few in number to handle the weight magnitude per square inch. The inspector stated there should have been a total of five beams. 3 beams 2' x 12' and 2 beams 2' x 10' My construction had three total. One 2' x 8' and two at 2' x 6'. (4.) The construction of the posts to the beams is to be bolted together, the construction of my patio cover was not bolted. (5.) Construction of the beams is to be securely bolted to the home, my patio cover was not bolted to my home it was hung from a small bracket which appeared to the inspector to have been improperly secured to the brick with a liquid nail substance. These are just a few of the main contributing factors as to the collapse of the patio enclosure constructed and installed by [redacted] and [redacted]. The inspector proceeded to ask me which company was responsible for the patio cover and when I told him he laughed and stated he has inspected many other fallen enclosures this company is responsible for constructing and judging by what he found wrong with mine he was surprised it lasted 10 months. Mr. [redacted] wants to blame poor maintenance for code violations on his construction, but a professional says that theory is highly unlikely. I want a refund from Mr. [redacted], so that I can higher an honest reputable company to construct and install a patio cover that is safe. My [redacted] and his associate [redacted] are lucky no one was seriously hurt or killed by the corners they cut to make money by the insurance scam they are trying to run.  As for the statement Mr. [redacted] made in regards to the leaves; I will not discount that the leaves were in the downspout, however what my husband and I found a little odd is my property has pine trees and they located about 50 to 100 feet from where the patio is. I am not a botanist, but I do know enough about trees to know pine trees don't produce leaves. So its a bit unclear as to how the downspout was full of leaves, but how there is no leaves anywhere else on the patio cover. I took plenty of pictures and there is not one of the leaves from his photos in any of them, I have enclosed a picture of my contract as well as the fallen enclosure. As soon as I get the inspectors full report I will attach a copy, as it should be interesting to hear more of Mr. [redacted] and Mr. [redacted]s excuses and denials to a building inspectors Professional ASHI Standards of Practice.

We installed galvanized nails when deck was built.the homeowner did call me and mention that two deck boards started pulling up on the end of them.its just got to have 10 nails fasten to the  top of the deck boards. I just figured he just put the nails in there. I mean it's 10 nails. I guess I...

can send a man over to nail in 6-10 nails for him. The reason I haven't sent nobody is that he says there are rusty. The homeowner needs to get ahold of homedepot and get ahold of nail manufacturer. All I can build with is nails that's galvanized. I don't make the nails!!!!     But if he needs a man to install 10 nails in the deck I will send a guy over this coming week. It's not a problem at all
