July 1, Linda Clompton Revdex.com of MS, Inc Re: ID [redacted] Dear Linda; Thank you for speaking to me when I called to tell you I would try to email within the day period you asked that I please respond to Mr [redacted] ' complaint(s), but it would be hard due to personal reasonsI will make an attempt at this time, though he left out quite a bit , embellished, and just out right lied about muchWhile the lying offends me, I am not surprised by itNeither should Mr [redacted] be if he is indeed in the towing business also, as he claimed that night to my driverWhen alcohol & vehicles tows are mixed this is commonplace, and as you know from experience most storytellers tend to tell their stories to their advantageThe majority of people who are angry about private property tows as well as police tows & get mad & threaten us calm down when the alcohol wears off & realize it was their bad judgement to begin with that resulted in the tow Our family is not new in the towing businessI am personally involved as an officer and manager in companies; we are entering our 32nd year in factWe have no new drivers, thus no inexperienced driversThe driver that towed his wife's vehicle probably has over years experience - not all with our companies- and like all our drivers, is no stranger to towing classic/restoration vehiclesAny time our drivers feel they are in harm's way or verbally threatened they immediately call dispatch, (me that night) & leave their iphone lines open so I can hear the conversations & call the police if it appears the situation merits such Ms [redacted] ' vehicle had already been towed & [redacted] returned to tow a second vehicle from the same location when Mr [redacted] & his wife approached himAt that time Ms [redacted] did all the initial speaking, and she was very upset , not surprisinglyShe was very loud & very abusive, telling him it was a ***K car, there were no signs, he had no right to tow, it better be inside & not stuck in some wrecker yard and it better be in the exact same condition it was when they parked it, etcThe third time she told him it was a ***K car she said, "You have no idea about a ***K car; I bet you have never owned one!" [redacted] said, "No Mam I haven't, but I know if I did I sure wouldn't abandon it on somebody's else's property in the dark where it was this rough & not even paved & leave it unlocked." He never told her to shut up, & Mr [redacted] never told him not to talk to her like that or they were going to have problemsThough I never personally met Mr [redacted] , after hearing him on the phone talking to [redacted] later & after I spoke with him personally twice that evening, he certainly did not appear to be the type to let anyone tell his wife to "shut up" without serious physical retaliation [redacted] , who had previously offered to let them ride with him to the location of the vehicle, told him he was welcome to go but she would have to wait in the restaurant/bar because he was not going to listen to any more yelling & abuse from herWhen Mr [redacted] asked how the car was towed straps or j-hooks, [redacted] said, "Sir, if you're really in the towing business you know what I used- straps." Mr [redacted] said, "Then where are they ? I don't see em." [redacted] said, "Well, so you think I musta used j-hooks?!" & he laughed sarcastically and said, "I'm taking this one to the yard, call the hour number when you're ready to pick up." There were NO tool boxes (side boxes under bed of tow truck) open, & no reason for them to beThis was a tow truck with appx miles on it, fully equipped to tow anything we respond to, and like all our other trucks (& perhaps unlike Mr [redacted] ') we don't keep our straps used for this type vehicle & motorcycles in the boxes of any of our trucksWe keep them in the cabs! I noticed that he didn't state the content of what he DID see in the one box he alleged he saw open After [redacted] departed with the second vehicle, Mr [redacted] called me & asked how was he supposed to get to the location of his vehicle, and I suggested he take a cab and to let me know when he would be there & I would give him directionsHe called me right back & said he was waiting for a ride from a friend, I gave him directions & reminded him again to let me know approximately minutes ahead of time so I could have a driver thereHe said, "Can it not be the same one?" I told him whoever was closest at the time of the call would release it ; he expressed he felt it would be possibly minutesMr [redacted] never called to tell me he was in route & instead showed up at the yard where [redacted] was unloading the second vehicle and directed the driver of the vehicle he was in to pull in past an open gate that says "STOP DO NOT ENTER"Not knowing who was in this vehicle, [redacted] immediately called me & said , "Standby to call the cops; someone has pulled right in on me past the warning sign." Mr [redacted] got out, approached [redacted] in a fast pace, and before he could even speak, [redacted] said, "Sir, you're trespassingDo I need to call the cops?" & held his phone for him to see" Mr [redacted] denied he was trespassing & told him, "I'm gonna beat your ***!" [redacted] then said, "Tonight it seems like you're having trouble reading signs, but you say you're in the towin' business & you're tryn' to tell me you missed that sign too, and you drive up in here on top of me like this? Come on, Man you know better than this; leave now or the cops are gettin called." Mr [redacted] then asked how to go about getting his car & [redacted] told him to call the hour numberHe called me immediately and was very nice to meI asked him why he didn't call me like he said he would because I almost called the police on him to have him arrestedI told him his vehicle was straight down the street just under miles & it was stored inside & to wait for the driver to release itHe asked again if it had to be "this guy" & I said yesHe told me he didn't like [redacted] because the way he talked to him, and I told him I heard all the conversations & how horrible [redacted] had been talked to from the beginningHe said, "You didn't hear me talk horrible to him at the beginning", and I agreed & told him he was right; in the beginning it was his wife that was talking to him so bad, but it was he who threatened to "beat his [redacted] after they ignored the sign & entered the yard"He continued to speak in a tone and said, "Lady I just want the car"I called the police & asked them to stand by ONLY outside the yard where his vehicle was located because my driver had been threatened physically, but the guy had sounded like he had calmed down before we hung upMr [redacted] & the officer beat [redacted] thereWithout going through those entire conversations I'll skip to Ms [redacted] ' delay in actually starting & driving her car out of the building before she told the officer she & her husband had a few drinksI am assuming, though I don't know, she felt if she drove she might be arrestedThe officer told her plenty of people drink when they get off workShe then took the car immediately next door to a hr Chevron where they proceeded to climb all over, under & around it for a lengthy inspectionThough the officer left, the police station was less than 300' awayIf there was indeed any damage anywhere to this vehicle that he says is worth ***K, why was there no police report done? I am sure you read the statement at the bottom of our invoice that was signedMr [redacted] called our dispatch line on Sunday following, asked if my name was Ms [redacted] , I replied no, and he asked my name & I told him, "We don't give out our names." He said, "Well, I have an attorney & I'm calling WLOX about the damage done to my car"I said, "So you're calling on a Sunday to TELL me this? You have a good day, Sir," and I hung up THENNormally, in business I think anyone who is threatened with an attorney halts the conversation at that point and waits to hear from the attorney; at least I certainly do Mr [redacted] states he will not stop until it is resolvedTo that statement I will respond by saying we dented nor scratched anything on that vehicle and have plenty of before & after pictures to support thatAny action by him claiming the contrary will be considered fraudulentNo matter how much he didn't like [redacted] , responding in such manner is no way to resolve anything July 3, Well, Linda, the above was written before this morning before I awoke to learn that Mr [redacted] signed an arrest warrant on [redacted] for a City of Gulfport Ordinance violation, that being: towing the vehicle to our Long Beach yard for inside storage instead of putting it in our Gulfport yard and putting a tarp over it- there is no inside storage at our Gulfport yardOur Gulfport yard has had numerous break-ins of late resulting in thefts, and while some arrest have been made, [redacted] relied on his personal judgement & experience & towed the vehicle miles into Long BeachAny high dollar or restoration vehicle owners ALWAYS prefer inside storage if asked, as did Ms [redacted] would have had she been asked because that was one of her threatsShe was not asked, however, and Mr [redacted] touted the name of [redacted] to [redacted] more than once that evening, even stating he had called "***" personally to come get him but he wouldn't leave the casinoHe said they advised him we were "under-handed, been in trouble & he should come after us for towing the car to Long Beach." along with a multitude of other negative & slanderous remarksEvidently he followed their adviceI will consult with our attorney before we pursue any further response & action Thank you, [redacted]
