Fraudulent Warranty
Within one month after installation, large pulls in the carpet started to form. Mouery’s in Springfield, MO was notified and they went through the warranty process. The manufacturer, Gulistan, approved to only have two of the four rooms (and staircase) carpet replaced due to defects. However, the other rooms carpet were from the same lot. So, the entire house needed to be replaced.

The manufacturer (Gulistan) sent a team out to analyze the carpet, and the team agreed the entire house needed to be replaced because the glue was defective and the strands were too short. However, the manufacturer (Gulistan) ran their own tests and denied the claim. This has now been over 1.5 years and nothing has been done to actually fix the situation and there are hundreds of snags and pulls in the carpeting. For two people living in the house this seems quite extreme especially for nearly $10,000 worth of carpeting.

While I recognize Mouery’s tried to help, the customer is still the only one out thousands of dollars with an entire house full of defective carpet. So, once again the consumer is the only one who loses. When will companies actually do what they say they are going to do?

Our carpet is only 6 weeks old and from beginning the threads/yarns are pulling out and the wear is terrible. the carpet was not cheap. I thought since its stain master it must be good. would never buy Gulistan carpet again. the yarns are just glued on . its not weaved trough, I have a feeling it would all gradually come off sooner or later. such a waste of time energy and money! It was such an effort to move all our furniture since we are elderly.

Install company says delamination problem.Carpeting was purchased Jan. 2012 from [redacted] Purchase included approved stainmaster padding, old carpet removal & disposal plus furniture removal and replace. At at a cost of $3564.01Carpeting has been restretched 5 times since Jan 2012. Carpeting stretches & buckles. Buckles are unsightly and cause tripping hazard. [redacted]refuses to do anything stating manufacturing defect. Carpet installers (not their fault) have come out 5 times since Jan 2012 to remove furniture stretch the carpeting and replace furniture. Installers say they think the problem is delamination of the carpet backing. No repair is possible. We also have to pack up all of our accesories each time just the same as moving each time carpeting is stretched. We believe the carpeting has a 25 year warranty. Called Gulistan last year and we were told they were going out of business and they would do nothing for us. I now see they were sold to an investor who financed and has kept the company in business. I have tried to call but have been unable to contact the company.Desired SettlementRefund purchase price including installation so we can purchase new carpeting & removal of the defective product.

Purchased carpet [redacted] with a 10 year warranty and carpet is matted down.Customer [redacted] purchased carpet [redacted] - model number[redacted] on March 25, 2011.He had it installed with us, [redacted], aware of the manufacture's warranty of 10 years against wear and tear. The store manager and myself went to the customer's house to look at the carpet when Mr. [redacted] told us of his delimma with the carpet just 3 years after purchasing it. He spen't $5,004.24 for the carpet and padding. The carpet has began to wear down and almost mesh together with the tufts in areas of the home that are not even used. When we went to process a claim for the customer, we learned that gulistan carpets had in fact closed down. Customer is upset and feels his warranty should indeed still be honored.Customer information:[redacted] - phone: [redacted]cell : [redacted]Desired SettlementCustomer [redacted] would like to have the carpet replaced with something comparable to what he had installed. He has copies of where the carpet has been professionally cleaned in order to maintain the warranty. I also have pictures from my visit to the customer's home.
