Complaint:
I am rejecting this response because:I was told explicitly by Gullo Yamaha on two separate occasions that the extended warranty did cover the cost of repairsThe first time was by phone, when I phoned to discuss prior to driving the hours round trip to their shopThe 2nd time I was told this would be a warranty repair, was when I dropped off the seats for repairAt that time, the manager *** stated Yamaha Corp would let Gullo know whether the seats would be reupholstered or replaced, under warrantyThere was never any discussion about Yamaha making a determination whether the seat repairs would or would not be covered by the extended warranty If this had been the case, why would I have taken the time and effort to bring the two PWC seats to Gullo Yamaha and leave them there if there was ever any uncertainty about the repairs not being covered under the extended warranty?Regarding the statement about "helping me out and working with me" by only charging $(plus tax) per seat for the reupholstering, this is much higher than market rateThe estimate from the local top ranked marine seat cover repair shop is $total including tax for both seats or $per seatThis repair facility is only minutes from my homeAlso note, Gullo Yamaha only made this offer after my seats had been at their shop for approximately two weeks. In my opinion, this is a case of bait and switch - Gullo thinking I would accept the above market rate for the repairs since the seats were already at their facility, I had already been waiting two weeks for the repairs while the boating season had already begun, and the fact Gullo is about a hour round trip drive from my home.

My apologies for not responding sooner.  When I received the complaint we searched our in-house plan room to look for the email address given in the complaint and did not find it.  We then contacted Blue Book which also has a data base that we use to send email blasts looking for subs to...

bid our projects.  Without having the email address that the customer was receiving the annoying emails from, it’s hard to know the exact source.  Any way, we called Blue Book and asked to have his email address removed from their database.  There is a company called [redacted] Inc. in Norwalk, OH that is a paving contractor that I believe was how the situation came to be.  After calling Blue Book I sent and email to [redacted] directly and notified him of what steps we took to resolve the situation and gave him my direct contact info so in the event he did receive another email he could forward it to me to get corrected.  If you have any other questions or concerns, please contact me at [redacted]. Sue *. Yamaha extended warranty does not cover appearance related issues so they denied the replacement of Mr. [redacted] seats. Yamaha clearly states in the Yamaha extended contract that non factory defects will not be covered it is listed under the exclusions on the contract. We told the customer we...

have to submit the claim for the seats to Yamaha and they make the call on repair or replace. Nothing was guaranteed by the dealer. Gullo Yamaha did get approval from Yamaha to help the customer by Yamaha factory paying the labor to recover the seat covers. Yamaha retails the seat covers for $299 plus tax each he has 2 seats on 2 different machines. We told Mr. [redacted] that we would sell him the seat covers at cost for $229 plus tax and Yamaha will pay the labor. For a total of $495 after tax. He then asked what it would cost to have the seats reupholstered not using Yamaha's offer and it would be $279 each plus tax. If the customer wants to take the manufacture's offer of them paying labor they are still willing to do so.
