SCAM ALERT: All the 1-star reviews are disappointingly and amazingly accurate. These folks subcontract out their hires to individuals that have no expertise in their field. We hired them to do Surround Stereo connection and when the two individuals arrived they said "what do you want done again" and just looked at her like she was from mars when asked to perform the work requested. They said "we have no idea how to do that, they didn't tell us that". We also had them install ceiling fans- the work was unfinished and shoddy and we requested they come back and finish the job correctly. No dates were provided even though I said I would make myself available. Instead I get a "NOTICE OF INTENTION TO CLAIM A LIEN" on my house. LOL. These guys are slick and have done this many a time. May God have mercy on their souls. Not sure how they can live with themselves. Anyone interested in participating in my legal action against them--it is my treat! PLEASE READ! This review needs to be read before anyone decides to do work with Gun Barrel Home Services in Colorado!
My husband and I are both active-duty military and we just bought our first home together in Colorado Springs. We hired Gun Barrel Home Services to do various projects to our new home, the first of which was installation of 500 sq ft laminate hardwood flooring. On the first day of renovations, the two contractors assigned to the project reported to our property without proper PPE, tools, or cleaning supplies to properly rip out the flooring or install the laminate hardwood. They did not have a measuring tape or level and we even had to purchase a broom for them!
We were in and out of our new home all afternoon picking up supplies for the future work. At the end of the night, we inspected their work and discovered the following:
- floor was very uneven since they did not level the subfloor because the existing laminate tile was “too difficult to remove”
- significant damage to the existing baseboards
- installed damaged pieces of laminate hardwood
- cuts were uneven and there were large gaps in corners
- cuts were made with a jigsaw on top of our new cabinets that did not have a countertop installed
- underlayment was laid upside down (the moisture barrier not facing the ceiling)
- did not sweep prior to laying down the laminate hardwood so there were nails, trash, and carpet remnants underneath the newly installed flooring
After discovering these major errors and losing faith in their ability to properly complete the remainder of the work, we decided to terminate the contract. In return, the owner of Gun Barrel Home Services sent us an invoice for the remaining balance of the work that was never performed. Over several days of email exchange, the owner and general manager threatened to file a police report for theft, informed us that they notified “Col REDACTED” and Jag (military lawyers), plan to involve our military chain of command, and started a mechanic’s lien on our home. According to the owner, a mechanic’s lien “allows you 10 days to pay the contact in full or we will begin foreclosure on your home.” After searching Colorado lien law, we found that this claim is completely false. We did not fall for his threats and informed him we are prepared for litigation. This company preys on homeowners and uses scare tactics to bully customers into paying money they did not earn! Stay far away from this company, the few dollars you may save is not worth the stress and anxiety because I can guarantee you will need to hire a second contractor and a therapist to clean up the mess Gun Barrel Home Services will create.

We have been told by the owner that he welcomes “bad reviews” because they generate income and save him in advertising. I feel so strongly about saving others from the incredibly awful service we have received in dealing with Gun Barrel Home Services. We were satisfied with the work until we went to finish electrical and the drywall was not finished close enough to the outlets. The holes are too big and a plate cover will not cover them. In addressing our concerns with Gun Barrel we were treated incredibly rudely and told that they will not return to fix their mistakes. Pictures included to show the terrible job they did in addition to an example of their response to us. They told us they were offering discounts because they are struggling with the impact of covid. We were fooled by the discount and now will have to invest more to have these things fixed. DO NOT HIRE Gun Barrel Home Services!

They painted the inside of my home amazing work! The walls were teal, orange, yellow and black. Hideous walls these guys came in made my walls a beautiful color. They repaired many holes in the walls and now it looks like a new home should!

Had work done by Gunbarrel Home Services in late October of 2019. Two gentlemen came to my home to do the services and the services were paid in full with an additional tip which was meant for the workers. Throughout the whole process I was working with Faith *** whom I believe to be a manager there. Workers contacted me days later stating they were never paid ANY amount of money for the work done. Workers were in my home for 10-12 hours on a Saturday. Called my credit card company (***) which I paid the bill with in order to start an investigation/inquiry on the matter. Gunbarrel Home services is now reaching out to me stating I never paid them when I did pay them with my *** credit card I was just starting inquiry so that the workers got paid. I believe this company is trying to retaliate now by contacting my chain of command for something they went about wrong. Most unprofessional company I have every worked with. Tried to call several managers and nobody picks up. There is no point of contact for them.

The techs do not have the right equipment or accreditation as advertised.
