Gurley Tire and Alignment Reviews (2)

A few weeks after getting my oil changed; my oil drain plug came out while driving. The said business does not want has said that its not liable. On 2/15/16 I went Gurley Tire and Alignment, Inc., to get an oil change on my 1994 Geo Tracker. On 3/5/16 around the time of 5pm while driving, the oil drain plug came out. I thought that I had ran over a can or something, until I say smoke coming from my vehicle and then my check engine and oil light came on. I pulled over when I was able to safely; and when I looked under the vehicle to see where oil was dripping from the undercarriage. As I looked closer I noticed that the oil drain plug was missing. The engine started knocking so, I went to [redacted] to purchase a new:drain plug, oil, funnel, and a socket. After making it home I called my supervisor and in formed him that I wouldn't be able to work on Monday cause I had to take my vehicle to where I had gotten my oil change at. I then googled " What causes a oil drain plug to come out?" on my phone. Everything comment was towards the technicians failure to tighten the plug. I contacted said business on 3/7/2016 around 9 am. I informed the person that I was on the phone with (which turned out to be the owner) about what happened and he said that the person who changed the oil on my vehicle was not going to be in until later and that he needed to speak him about it. I called back around 1pm and "he said that he talked to the technician and that the technician said that he had tightened the drain plug." Then he told me that he needed to look at the vehicle to determine if they were liable. I told him that y'all were the only person to mess with the vehicle. I also told him that I wasn't comfortable driving the vehicle due to the fact that I don't know what damage has been done to the vehicle and that I didn't want to make whatever damage worst by driving it. I reluctantly drove the vehicle to the shop. After waiting about to hours he finally looked at the vehicle and came back about 15 minutes later and said that he changed the oil, and put on a new filter, and that he put some Lucus oil treatment in the oil; but because I didn't have the old drain plug he couldn't tell whether or not they were liable. He said that me would make a claim with his insurance company the next day cause they're offices were closed and that he would contact me with that information soon thereafter. I called the business the twice the next day but was not able to get in touch with the owner. The owner contacted me on 3/9/16 around 11:30 am with the contact and claims number for his insurance company. When I called the number I spoke with Ms. [redacted] and Ms. [redacted] immediately said the she never heard of something like that happening. She asked if I had taken pictures or if I had noticed any oil leaking from the vehicle. I replied no to both her questions and informed her that I don't park in the same spot. I informed her that I wasn't comfortable driving the vehicle and that I would like a rental. She replied that I couldn't get a rental until they were finished with there investigation. She scheduled an appraiser to come and look at the vehicle. The appraiser contacted me on 3/12/16 at 4 pm and scheduled to meet with him on 314/16 at 4 pm. The appraiser looked over the vehicle and took pictures of the vehicle and of the recept. The appraiser said that he would put in his notes that the vehicle has mechanical issues and that it needs to be put on a machine for further testing. On 3/18/2016 [redacted] contacted me stating that the owner doesn't feel his liable, and that he wouldn't pay for a rental either, but that he is willing to go half on a new engine. I asked her too give me the weekend to think about it. She agreed. She contacted me on 3/21/16 and asked if I had made my decision; and I replied that I couldn't agree to that arrangement cause I wasn't in any way liable for the damages. She replied this is a new engine which we do not owe for. I replied I still couldn't do it, cause it's costing me money I don't have. She said that she would put it in writing.Desired SettlementI am seeking for my vehicle to be repaired at a business of my choosing and that all expenses related to the repairs be covered by the business.

Extensive Damage to hood of vehicle after simple oil changeMy wife took our 2008 [redacted] to get an oil change. The manager [redacted] was the mechanic involved. when I got home and saw the front of my car I could not believe the extent of repeated damage to my vehicles hood - there are 5 fist size dents atleast 1 inch deep. this guy took advantage of a 56 year old woman, vandalized her car, hid it from her and sent her on her way after taking her money - I filed a police report that very night after trying to contact the shop - the next day I confronted this man who immediately became belligerent and combative after he acknowledge he did the damage but refuse to contact his insurance company - I left the premise. Now I contact my own insurance company[redacted] who pretty much told me I had to make a claim against my OWN policy and pay a 500 dollar comprehensive deductible BEFORE they would take action against this guy... justice doesnt exist I tell you. you can see the damage yourself at http://www.kinzones.com/Images/car.jpgDesired SettlementComplete repair costs in FULL - additional reparations of my lost wages of $250 and additional $250 for putting us through this due to negligence
