I am the person that was talking to the ***'s about this matter. I thought everyone was completely clear on the matter. The Gutter Helmet was installed on feet of gutters in 2008. The homeowner had a tree fall damaging 45' of the Gutter Helmet in which we
replaced. During our replacement of this 45' our installer noticed that the rest of the Gutter Helmet had been tampered with and was no longer in alignment. This must have occurred when the roofing contractor installed a new roof which I would assume was in as well. Gutter Helmet extends up onto the roof so it needs to be removed if a new roof is being installed. The roofing contractor should have contacted us instead of just applying the new shingles right over the top of the installed Gutter Helmet so we could have made sure it was dealt with correctly so we could have continued to warranty it. By doing this it put the Gutter Helmet out of our specified alignment as well as they nailed through the Gutter Helmet when roofing over it leaving it so we can not access it to perform service on it or to re-align it. The homeowners do have a warranty on the newly installed 40' but that is not the area they are calling about for service. The area they are referring to is a section that was damaged by the roofing contractor leaving it unwarrantable. My service manager did provide a quote for the homeowner to pass along to their roofing contractor for us to replace the damaged Gutter Helmet when he was called to do a service at which time he realized that he could not complete the service due to the current condition of the Gutter Helmet. Our #goal is always to make the homeowners experience no less than perfect but in my opinion this complaint should have been filed against the roofing firm that chose to tamper with and roof over the homeowners Gutter Helmet causing complete damage.
