Initial Business Response /* (1000, 8, 2016/04/15) */
The Gutters were installed on Feb 23rd while [redacted] was at work. I contacted [redacted] to inform him of job completion and to find out when I could collect payment. [redacted] stated he would be home after 6pm and asked that I be there by 630. I arrived at 635...

from another job location. As stated in complaint, [redacted] felt that the gutter at the front of the house was not pitched enough. I explained rational behind gutter placement, [redacted] disagreed with me. I then stated that if he felt the gutters needed to be adjusted at any point and time, I would have no problem coming back to adjust gutters to his satisfaction. The downspout was replaced in the exact location of previous downspout. [redacted] contacted me to adjust gutters, which as the contractor, I did not feel was necessary; I did adjust ALL of the gutters, including the entire "U" section in front of the house, not just part of the job as stated in complaint, just to satisfy his concerns. On March 9th, I emailed [redacted] to let him know that I did adjust the gutters and that from his previous email, it sounded like he may benefit from splash guards. Also in this same email I stated that I would take of installing the splash guards on top of the inside corners within the next couple of weeks when I was back in the area. I feel as the professional, that in pitching the gutters per [redacted]'s request, it has led to the new problem of water over shooting the gutter, now needing splash guards.
On March 11th I had a phone conversation with [redacted] discussing his concerns and explained what splash guards were and what their purpose was. During that phone call I again stated that I would take care of the splash guards within the next 2 weeks, at no cost to [redacted]. On March 21st, which is 12 days from my 2 week estimation, I received a very aggressive email from [redacted]. In this email he threatened the lively hood of by business stating "It has been a full 2 weeks since your last email that you gave me to resolve the installation problem and have not seen a fix as promised nor have I had any follow-up. At this point because of your inaction, I am forced to handle this problem in a way that will adversely affect your professional reputation. You leave me no choice. TAKE NOTICE you or any representation of your company is NOT welcome or permitted on my property for any reason at any time. Violation will amount to trespassing. No reply to this message is needed or would it be welcome."
I had planned on contacting [redacted] later that day to let him know that I would be in his area the following day March 22 and would take care of his property. At that point when I pulled up the email thread, to notify [redacted] of my intention to be at his house the following day,I see his latest email. Needless to say after the threatening email I did not further contact [redacted].
At no point throughout this entire process with [redacted] did I have any ill intentions towards this job. I had every intention of continuing my attempts at making him happy.
I have been a licensed contractor since 2005 and have never had a complaint filed against me. I ALWAYS go above and beyond to make my customers happy. I take great offense to [redacted]'s off handed comments about poor work ethics, incompetence, and poor customer service.
