Review: Was quoted a price then when I went to pick up my truck the bill was almost double.Desired Settlement: the quote was for 150. dollars and the bill came to 275. dollars for a u joint replacement . I would like a refund of 100. dollars . thank you

On Monday, April15 as I was leaving work Mr. [redacted] pulled his white 1994 Ford F150 pickup into my

shop. He explained to me that had tried to replace a very bad u-joint and had stripped the bolt in the

differential. He further explained that he and a friend had been grinding on it and even heated it with a

torch, but could not remove the bolt. Without looking at it I said that I was closed, but that if he

brought the truck into me on Tuesday morning that I would see if I could get the bolt out. He asked how

much it would cost and I indicated that without looking at it I could not know for sure, but said in similar

cases it can cost around $150.00.

Mr. [redacted] returned Tuesday morning and asked me if I could remove the bolt and also replace the u-joints

as they were very bad and trying to remove them caused the problem in the first place. It is at

that time that I gave him the estimate for work to be done in the amount of $275.43. He returned to

pick up the vehicle and looked over the work order and said what happened to $150.00. I thought that

he was kidding at first, so I explained that I removed the bolt and the drive shaft and pressed two new u-joints

into the drive shaft and the new bolt. I indicated that the original $150.00 was just for the bolt

removal, but he had also added that he wanted the u-joints and that is what the estimate he had signed

included. He said OK, paid and left. Furthermore, he has been working next door to me every day and

has never come over to let me know that he was unhappy.
