Bob,
Thank you for the quick reply
I appreciate your assurance that the insert repair will prove successful. I am however still concerned about the integrity of the repair, and believe that the damage to the drain threads was do to improper technique used by the service technician by way of not aligning the threads properly and/or over torquing the plug
I also, find it a concerning that service department has taken no responsibility for the damage to dateI have performed countless oil changes on vehicles I have owned in the past, and have never run in to this issue. In addition, I read countless cases of oil pan threads being stripped and all would suggest negligence by the individual performing the service
At this point I am considering whether I need to file a formal complaint if only for documentation purposes

***,
First, I would like to apologize for any inconvenience the oil change issues may have caused
What I have seen in my experience thru multiple car lines, are steel drain plugs, in aluminum oil pansOver time, the threads may distort to the point where a replacement drain plug will not tighten properly
Please be assured the repair process performed yesterday is a time proven successful repair, installing a “time-sert” in the drain painWe use this repair 2-times per month, regardless of where the oil changes have been performed, and unless the drain pain has been repaired prior, all inserts have been successful
The insert uses steel thread inserts into the pan that are stronger than any aluminum repair process
At this point, I feel there should be no issues in the foreseeable future, but please feel free to stop in as your schedule allows, so we can einspect the oil pan and plug

Hello VW Service Team,
I wanted to reach out to you to get some clarification on an issue that came up during a regularly scheduled oil change that I had performed today at the langhorne service department
During the oil change it was discovered that my oil pan plug was stripped and could no longer be tightened to provide a sufficient seal. I was informed that this was due to regular "wear and tear" on my vehicle, and is for a vehicle with miles clocked
Can you please clarify how regular wear and tear would cause this issue?
I purchase the vehicle with approx miles and have had every oil change performed by VW Langhorne since (all of which you should have record of.) Outside of over torquing the plug, or not lining up the plug threads correctly, I just can't comprehend how this could happen from driving the vehicleCould be my ignorance, but I do need clarification all the same
If you could please provide a written response at your earliest convenience I would sincerely appreciate it
Thank you,
