Here is my response to the above complaint filed against my company. H&H Roofing
 
The above homeowners roof was...

installed in July 2006 and had a 2 year labor warranty.  I purchased H&H Roofing from the previous owner in Oct 2007, so any issues he had with his roof after installation I am not aware of.  Since my ownership of H&H Roofing in Oct 2007, I have never received a call from the homeowner regarding a leak issue.  My first contact with the homeowner was in April 2014 when they called in to have us look at a leak they had.  If they had a continuous leak issue I would have known as I answer/receive all the incoming calls to my office.  There was an area on the back wall that showed a fresh leak and after inspecting the roof I did notice a piece of decking that was rotted along the gutter line that was the point of entry for the water….most likely caused by ice damming issues that have been an issue the past two winters.  Even though the homeowners warranty on the roof had expired in July 2008, six years ago at this current time…it was a minor fix and I let me know I would fix it at no cost to them when I could fit it into our schedule.  Unfortunately, we have been extremely busy this spring/summer and I wasn’t able to get over in a timely manner to please them.  I feel we are no way obligated to repair the roof but I was willing to do it for free of charge since it was a minor fix.  I am sorry he had to call another roofing company to fix it but I feel we are not obligated to pay for any part of the repair since it has been out of warranty for 6 years now and I was just now hearing about a leak in April 2014.  I also feel that this complaint holds no merit and should not be reflected as a negative issue towards my company.  Since my ownership we have changed our workmanship warranty to reflect a longer coverage timeframe incase issues would arise with the roof installation.

Review: H&H Roofing roofed our house eight years ago, we have had a leak problem ever since.In April of this year [redacted] inspected our roof and said they would take care of the leak problem, by the first of July they had not repaired our roof and did not return repeated phone calls. Because we were getting interior ceiling and wall damage we decided it was in our best interest to contract with a different roofing company at a cost of $780.00. The leaking was a result of not installing step flashing and not installing the one piece flashing properly. The company we hired to repair our leak problem has a life time warranty that include any interior damage that results from their work, H&H does not a comparable warrant.Desired Settlement: I would like for H&H to share in the cost of repairs. even though the roof problem is resolved there remain the expense of repairing our walls and ceiling. these repairs will require the painting of ceilings in two rooms and probably the painting of one room.
