H & M Auto Parts Reviews (6)

Review: I was interested in and ultimately purchased a [redacted] car on 1-01-15 from an individual named [redacted] leading me to his apartment for visual inspection. The sale was made at his apartment in Ranch Cordova. He stated that he needed to go to his shop for the paperwork. He led us to H & M Auto Parts located at 3501 Recycle Road in Ranch Cordova. Then he stated that the car was purchased through his business. While we were there, he mentioned the fact that the car was purchased at auction by the business, which led me to specifically ask him if he had a dealer's license. He stated, yes that he had a dealer's license. He proceeded to give me the paperwork that he deemed was necessary for the sale. Upon attempting to transfer title at the DMV to my name the DMV employee commented that this must be their first time doing paperwork or else they don't know what they are doing. The DMV employee stated that there is a dealer stamp on the title therefore the DMV is requiring a Dealer's Report of Sale. The seller consistently continues to fail to produce the proper paperwork for sufficient transfer of title of the vehicle. Is this considered fraud? I have made many phone calls and even took a day off work to handle this matter several times over the past four months. They bought this car as a business, they sold this car as a business and they fail to produce the required Dealer's Report of Sale required by the DMV. My last trip to the DMV was 4-06-15 and I am fed up. The seller of the car repeatedly tells me that the DMV is incorrect. I feel as though I was scammed. Is this fraud? Please help me resolve this issue.Desired Settlement: I demand the proper paperwork to transfer title of the vehicle or a full refund plus the $585.00 I spent the very next day to replace the bad water pump that was not disclosed with the sale of the car, plus all DMV fees spent in an attempt to transfer the title that is incomplete.

Review: In August of 2015 I bought a hybrid battery from H&M auto parts and the battery did not work. Looked in the internet and read all about this type of battery. (Well this battery only last 7 yr. when new) But the date of this battery is 11-11-03 which is whey over due. I mean dead on the 8-24 2015. Contacted h&m about this battery which has a 90 day warranty they told me to come back in 2 day. 8-26-2015 which they said they would have one coming from San Francisco so I showed up then. This time they told to give them my phone number. They would call me they have not yet. So I am thinking that that they are waiting out my 90 days on the warranty, and no battery.Desired Settlement: A good battery or my 759.50 back soon.

Response:

Told [redacted] prior to him submitting a complaint that we had a battery waiting for him on our shelf. He can come in and get his battery

Review: I paid them cash on Wed 04/15/15 for a rear axle to be delivered to my mechanic. They told me it would be delivered later that day or Thurs for sure. Item was not delivered til Sat and then it was the wrong one. On Mon they told me they found the right one and it would be delivered later that day or Tues am for sure. All week they gave me different excuses including telling me it was loaded on the truck at 9 am Wed amd and would be delivered by 5 that afternoon. On FRi 04/24 they finally confesswed that they never had the part and would refund me the full price. I told them I would pick it up on Sat am. I was there at 9:05 and [redacted] wasn't there and my money wasn't either. I waited 30 to 45 minutes when I finally told them I would be back Mon am. They offered me a check but I told them since they wouldn't take my check I wouldn't take theirs. On Mon 04/27 I called to verify money was there and was told by [redacted] that they would only give me a check because they didn't have that much on hand. Due to them lying so much I went to [redacted] bank where the checking account was and had to pay $6 to cash the checkDesired Settlement: I would like to be reimbursed the $6 I had to pay to cash their check and my insurance company reimbursed for car rental for a week sicne they lied to me that long.

Business

Response:

Business states the delay was due to consumer failure to find the correct gear ratio. Business had the part but consumer provided incorrect information. Business did go ahead and refund consumer directly and even waived the restocking fee. The business has gone above and beyond servicing customer needs unfortunately the correct part customer needed was not able to be located. At this time no further reimbursement is due.

Consumer

Response:

I am rejecting this response because:the business states that the delay was due to incorrect gear ration from consumer which is false. They had the correct gear ratio from the very beginning. It's on the document they gave me when refunding my money.. The business claims they had had the right part but incorrect info from consumer which is false. . My complaint is about the fact that they didn't dekliver the part when conmsumer was told and was not delivered until 2 days after the promised date. And then they spent the whole following week lying to me about having the part and were trying to dekliver it andf then at the end of the week they tell me they never had the part and weould give me a refund. Which brings me to my next gripe becauser I had to take a check from them but they wouldn't take one from me so I didn't trust them after lying for a week so I had to pay $6.00 to cash it.

Review: I purchased a rebuilt engine from them on 1-23-2015,I installed engine and it uses coolant and runs poorly,I called them with no recourse.I asked to speak with a manager, and I just get the run around from them. sincerely, adam huguesDesired Settlement: refund or send me a rebuilt engine

Business

Response:

Company states: We have spoken wit the consumer and have agreed to warranty the engine and send another one.

Consumer

Response:

I am rejecting this response because: I spoke with [redacted] on 2-10-15 ,he said he was going to send another engine ,it never was delivered, and he necer called me back.I called on 2-12-15 and spoke with [redacted] who I was told is the owner he assured me he would call me with a eta on a engine delivery for the problem,he never called back.I called again on 2-18-15 and spoke with a rude character named noah,I was told [redacted] and [redacted] were not in,I asked him about the replacement engine that was never sent and I told him they were lying to me and I would have to report them for legal action, noah said go ahead that I was bluffing.I have been lied to from day one with H&M auto parts. They are not reputable, and are liars and thieves. All I wanted was for them to make it right and send me a rebuilt engine like I purchased.I no longer trust them,Everyone that I have spoken to on the phone has lied to me.I demand a full refund.

Business

Response:

Company states: She ordered a hybrid battery and we are currently in the process of rebuilding and she is in a rental car that we are paying for.

Business

Response:

Company states: We sold the customer the engine and he came to us and said that the engine was bad. We told him we would refund him. He said he wanted a replacement so we waited on getting him one. We then received a charge back and he got his refund anyways. Now he has our engine. We will pursue this further legally if he does not send back our engine.

Consumer

Response:

I am rejecting this response because: I Have not received a refund for the engine.I have provided a receipt for payment to H&m auto parts for $1400.00 .

Consumer

Response:

Consumer states: This is my final offer to resolve this. I am willing to send back the engine and then receive my refund. Please provide instructions on how to send this back to you.

Business

Response:

Company states: Consumer is responsible for shipping cost back to us. He can contact [redacted] and they would be able to assist with that.

Review: On February 24 2015 I took my 2005 [redacted] RX8 into the H&M Auto Parts to have my engine replaced. On that day I paid the first installment of $2200.00 on a $3000.00 repair quote in cash giving by the owner [redacted]. They told me that the job will be completed in about a week and that they would contact me when the vehicle was ready. On March 6 2015 my son and I went to the shop after being notified the vehicle was repaired and ready to go. When we arrived that day the remaining $800.00 was paid in $200.00 on my debit card and $600.00 in cash. My son test drove the vehicle to ensure the repairs were complete and noticed the check engine light was blinking and the low coolant light was also on. We immediately returned the RX8 the shop and were told by [redacted] that he would have looked at and fixed. On March 9 2015 my son and I returned to retrieve the vehicle and my son drove the RX8 again to notice it still doing the same blinking check engine light which he recorded on his phone this time and returned immediately and presented the video to [redacted]. The owner then said to leave the vehicle again. On March 21 2015 we returned to the H&M Auto Parts and my son did another analysis before we drove off in the vehicle, it was at that time he checked the oil to find a milky white substance on the dip stick which was the same when we initially brought the vehicle in. I was also informed that they woould be changing all fluids in the engine, which means it should not have the same substance as when first brought in. The 2005 [redacted] RX8 is still there and has not been completely fixed and they are still paid in full for the uncompleted job.Desired Settlement: I would like proof of H&M Auto Parts replacing the engine because I do not feel that they did the job they charged me for. I would also like for them to check and repair all mechanical problems associated with the repair they were paid to do in a timely matter, being since they have been paid in full since March 6 2015 and the vehicle is still not fully repaired.

Business

Response:

Business is currently in contact with the consumer. Business believes that consumer issues have been taken care of and provided services free of charge. Unfortunately, the business has made many attempts to replicate check engine light issues but to no avail. Consumer was informed that vehicle is ready to pick up. Business will be forced to start charging storage fees if vehicle is not picked up immediately.

Consumer

Response:

I am rejecting this response because: The business has not been in contact with us we always had to contact them. When we would call and ask if the car was ready they would always say let me ask [redacted] and he was never available and he would never return our call. I do not feel they changed the motor in the vehicle because it has the same problems prior to bringing it to the shop. It had the same coolant puddle in the same area of the motor, which should not be there if the motor was changed. It has the same foamy milky oil in the motor, which should not be there if the motor was changed, especially if they told us that they were going to change all the fluids in the motor. We would like them to provide proof that they changed the motor for as they have received $3000 in cash to perform the job. If they can not we demand some kind of refund for reason of them not performing the job they charged us for. They told us the job consist of all new fluids in the new motor, all new gaskets on the new motor and a 6 month warranty on the new motor. The check engine light problem on the vehicle should fall under warranty to be fixed and we should not be charged any storage fees on a vehicle that is simply put not repaired and ready to be picked up.

Consumer

Response:

Consumer states that the vehicle has been picked up. However the check engine light is still on and the vehicle has not been driven further than the shop to the house. The business did not provide any detailed information regarding the actual repairs, only a statement that included the words "engine assembly". Situation is currently under review by the Bureau of Automotive Repair(BAR). Consumer will wait for the business to comply with the BAR findings. Should the business choose not to comply with the BAR then the consumer will again contact the Revdex.com to update the complaint accordingly.

Review: I purchased a rebuilt battery from H&M 9-22-14 because my check engine light was on.[redacted] the owner told me to bring the car into the shop on January 5,2015. They kept my car until the 20th . The light came back on and I took the car back on the 22nd. Still today my car keeps going back and forth to the shop and now my issue is [redacted] told me that [redacted] said for me to rent a car and the shop would cover the cost. I have injured my leg and I asked the if they could bring my car and come get the rental and return it. [redacted] asked me to extend the rental until the end of today which is March 16th They never return my calls every since they have had my car in their care. I have to keep calling them checking on my car. Now my issue is They told me to rent this car and they would pay for it and I used my credit card and [redacted] told me that I would be reimbursed for the rental and I feel like they are trying to shift the bill from the rental on me. I'm going to return the rental tomorrow because I can't afford to pay for this car. They still have my car in their shop for repairs under the warranty.Desired Settlement: I would like to be reimbursed for the rental car and for the battery.

Business

Response:

Company states: She ordered a hybrid battery and we are currently in the process of rebuilding and she is in a rental car that we are paying for.
