Herring service man came out to replace the TXV on my heat pump .the heat TXV was not working but the cool TXV was working fine but not after he left Had Herring a/c come out to repair Bard heat pump that was installed by them ,The service man came out and replaced the txv on the heat side a/c was working fineafter he was done now the a/c will not work and can't used the heat pump This was on 1/10/the payment was $On 1/11/I call and he came back out and said that the txv on the cool side was not working and had to be replace it was working the day before he told me it was going to cost the same price of $or he could give me a price for a new unit he call some one at herring and all they would do was take the price of off a new unitThe price of the new unit was going to be $ with the $.My unit is not that old and has been well maintainnot the way I would do business
Dishonest Maintenance
A technician from Herring Heating & AC came to my shop on 4/13/to do a maintenance inspection on my HVAC unit on the roof top He reported that there was a "crack" in the heating chamber and recommended a replacement of the whole unit for around $10, He took some pictures as proofs of the "crack" he found and switched off the heater from the roof top without telling me At the time, he knew my shop was a newly established business On the next day (4/14/18), the day was cold, and we could not turn on the heater to open the business I had to call in a friend to help go up to the roof top and switch the heater back on
A Herring receptionist called on 4/16/to collect a pre-paid full-year payment of $for two maintenance inspections, per their agreement, which I paid with a business credit card When I asked why her technician switched off my heater without my knowledge, she stated it was "by law" he had to do so
Three weeks later, I call
On 7/5/they repaired my air conditioner by replacing the dual run capacitor at a price of $140.00.The OEM price for this part is $
Is this not a case of price gouging?

Herring has been doing work for me for about years, with a remarkably wide range of services on both existing equipment and new installations I have *always* been pleased with the professionalism and the courtesy in addition to the terrific, essentially trouble-free installations each time I move or upgrade equipment Now, a friend of mine whom I referred has just had an installation, and he had exactly the same kind of experience that I have always had, even though his installation crew was a different group of installers Thank you, Herring, for exceeding expectations, with excellent work and the type of kindness we too often think of as a lost art
