Review: My boyfriend financed a vehicle from H J Smith Automobiles, [redacted] the owner of the dealership led him to believe that the truck he was financing was a 2005 Ford F150 5.4 liter. Come to find out later it was a 4.6 liter. my boyfriend then called [redacted] to tell him what he discovered and I quote that he said " We don't know what type of engines are in a vehicle. I just put them on the lot and sell them." Two day later after he drove this truck off of the lot the check engine light came on, and it started randomly dying any place anytime which is extremely dangerous. Not to mention when he was on the high way the truck died and the bumper fell off and went under the truck almost causing a life threatening wreck for my boyfriend and others around him. My boyfriend took the truck back for the first repair. the only thing they did was cut the factory alarm not doing anything about the truck dying. He drove it for a month after the "repair" with it still dying on him. Then the truck became to dangerous to drive, so he broke down and called [redacted] the owner. [redacted] was then going to tow his truck originally for $75, which then changed to $95 and repair what needed to be replaced. He then says that my boyfriend owes him nearly $500! That is outrageous, considering the parts and labor should have really only been about $250 for a throttle body!!! [redacted] knew this truck was not a good truck that would get him where he needed to go. My boyfriend is a 20 year old living on his own with his own bills to pay and for a crook like this to sell him a car [redacted] knew wasn't going to last is one of the most unprofessional things I have ever experience in my 30 years. My boyfriend went and posted on Revdex.com as I am right now, and of course [redacted] the Owner of H J Smith sees and the same day with in one hour came and reposed his vehicle with no warning or chance to explain why he was towing his vehicle. We then went to the dealership the next day and has the audacity to call my boyfriend I quote "[redacted] I'm 60 years old, but I'm sure as hell I can whoop your [redacted], I just ought to knock your teeth in right now!" he stood up and bowed up to my boyfriend. He also told my boyfriends Step Mother that if my boyfriend gets angry with him then he will have him arrested. OH AND NOT TO MENTION I SMELLED WHISKEY ON HIS BREATH! With all of this being said he took advantage of a 20 year old who is just trying to make it on his own and is out nearly $3000. [redacted] repos cars and sells cars that will barley last a month maybe a little longer and then you are screwed, because of what you put down and the payments you have made to your car plus all the charges he will put on top for your repairs if you decide to go through him. [redacted] and H J Smith Automobiles have only been in business for 40 plus years, because they are thief's and crooks. This has happened to almost everyone I have talked to that have bought cars from this location. I would just like to warn everyone NOT TO GO TO this place they are ignorant to selling reliable cars. All [redacted] the owner cares about is taking peoples money. I mean really if you think about it, literally he is stealing money from everyone who is really in need of a reliable vehicles who don't have credit. MOST UNPROFESSIONAL BUSINESS I HAVE EVER SEEN IN MY LIFE!!!Desired Settlement: To get my money back, and for NOBODY else to get taken advantage of!

The customer, not the person who actually filed the complaint, bought a car and signed an as is contract. He called a half hour before closing time and said there was something wrong with the car. I had a wrecker pick up the car at 9 am and take it to the shop down the street. It was repaired by noon. The cost of repairs and the wrecker were approximately $500 so we agreed that we would add $50 to each of his next ten payments. An hour or so later I got an email from [redacted], stating that he had trashed my business. This made me extremely angry and I decided that since he was already behind on his payments, and because I had gone out of my way to help him when I didn't have to, that I was going to repossess the vehicle, which I did.
