Warning to consumers
Warning to consumers regarding HMart Online: H-Mart customer service does not answer calls nor return emails. Customer discovered this when following up on an out-of-stock condition which occurred within days of sale start date due to H-Mart failure to plan stock levels accordingly. The H-Mart phone answering system plays annoying musical noise until it kicks out callers within minutes. Don’t waste your time or energy thinking a live person will eventually answer—multiple attempts only leave you angry and violated after H-Mart’s putrid “energetic” music poisons your mind with nonstop repetition. There are better places that actually value their customer base to receive incredibly competitive pricing.

Shopping at H-mart in Naperville Illinois turns out to be a molded experience.

Never thinking that any reputable grocery store would display such rotten and very health hazardous produce I never examined the unions before throwing them into the shopping cart. Big-huge mistake!

After purchasing $80.00 in groceries when unpacking the bag of yellow onions at home I discovered that all but 2 in this pre-packed bag had mold growing in-between and around all but two onions.

Thinking that the skin on the two onions protected the flesh we used it in a meal in which the entire family got the runs, and cramps for 48-hours... what a detox surprise!

It turns out the H-Mart does not abide by the common regulation for food safety the other groceries follow. H-Mart is either paying off officials, or bribing others to excuse such UN-cleanliness and sanitary conditions.

What's more when almost 2-weeks after I returned this bag of mold-rotten onions...I discovered that their were lots more just like the one I purchased. LOTS! This is not a reputable store for consuming groceries... especially if feeding young children. Much of the open foods have been comprise with different types of contamination. I took a sample of the air quality after seeing so much mold growth on the open produce. Need I say anymore? Just pay attention...

Instead of asking for a refund, I asked for an exchanged after finding a bag with out mold attached to it. The customer service Rep "Unsuk Byun" was not only rude; but she also decided to put me on notice stating that if I get home and discover their is mold on any of the onions in the bag, she would not allow me to return it again.

You heard that right... we were discussing in a grocery store how it's my responsibility to recognize and not choose contaminate food on display; for if I do then it's my tough-pot-luck. Disgusting to say the least. What a joke for this filthy-smelly store to pond rotten food onto consumers!

Yes.. I will be filing a complaint so an investigation is opened on this private Korean company that is making America more sick than it already may be. Why should we care about keeping America safe when some are contaminating the food supply killing Americas from within? H-Mart also sells groceries without English labeling and/or date-stamps which is double-jeopardy for those who cannot read Japaneses, Korean or other Asian languages.

BTW... little do the store manager know that mold, especially on onions are air-borne spores that float in the air and attach itself to other produce. People who are not use to this moldy bacterium will be affected in several harmful ways. Do the research...

Review: On May 2,2014, I went to H Mart supermarket in [redacted] a subsidiary store of H Mart's headquarters, to do some grocery shopping. After I checked out my goods, I was waiting by the checkout counter for my grandparents since they had also gone shopping. There was a bakery ([redacted]) in front of the register and we were waiting there with my 1 year old son. My son accidentally touched one of the packed breads on display and the person in charge of the bakery was upset and started to get angry. I apologized and she was very rude to me and my 1 year old son, even accusing me of putting my son in danger. I did not know what she meant by that but she was very disrespectful. We exchanged words and had an argument because of inappropriateness to me and my son. I feel like it was just a small thing and there was no reason for her to get mad. She pointed her fingers at me shouted "Shut up!!" All along the manager in the store already witnessed our disagreement but she did not do anything to control the situation. The manager did not intervene and instructed the employee to stop yelling at me. This incident at the bakery did not happen once but there were instances that my relatives went to the bakery department and touched the items on sale but the lady in charge of that bakery gets mad if you touch it, you can only touch the breads if you are going to buy it. She was upset as well when my grandmother tried checking out the breads on display. Going back to the incident on May 2, I talked to the Manager named [redacted] to complain about the person in the bakery department but she could not do anything about it and I just asked for the H Mart's headquarters phone number. I called the Headquarters on that same day, May 2,2014 to complain the person in charge in their bakery department in Cherry Hill. I spoke with [redacted] from Advertising Department and I was told that she will investigate what happened and will email me for feedback but have not heard from them until nowDesired Settlement: I want an apology directly from the person/employee in [redacted] bakery in H Mart Cherry Hill, NJ. I want some kind of disciplinary action, a warning of some sort, to that lady in the bakery department for treating the customers so rudely every time someone touches the packaged breads on display. Customer service in that department is very poor. Customers must be treated with courtesy and politeness not by rudeness. Again, this has happened before to other customers, that lady in the bakery is not well liked by the people I know who shops there including friends and family.
