[redacted] I am rejecting this response because: The contractor's remarks and conclusions are not accurate and do not completely address concerns with the damaged flooring and the fact that the manufacturer's warranty has been compromised by the improper installation of the floor/moldings [redacted]

Response:Although they signed the contract on 11/17/they did not move out of the home until12/27/We had to deal with winter conditions which made the demoltion take a little longerWe were able to submit for a building permit on 5/1/It took until 7/14/to get a permitThere were a couple rejections of the permit application that we had to resolve -- Issues that were not raised on other permit applications we had submitted to the same building deptWe are under construction -- starting to frame the home on Aug 5thWe will be completed at the end of NovemeberThe contract gives us months to build the home from when we startFrom permit that would be January 14th When you consider they did not move out of the home until 12/27/(month and days) we will only be a month behind scheduleWe tell people to months, unfortunatley there are things out of our control - -one is the weather and the other is sub contractors not keeping to their schedule (which happened with the disconnetion of the sewer line and other site work that needed to be completed) -- we lost a month over the winter due to a bad winter and we lost a month in the permitting processWe are going to still be well within the time frames in the contract

I am rejecting this response because:
This is the typical excuse ridden response that I have come to expect from Walters Homes. I could go on and on with actual facts that rebut items addressed in the response. For example, we were told we would have two months to vacate the house. The fact that we took a little over a month so my young children could spend Christmas at our old house (which I would do again) actually worked in Walters Home’s favor in regards to schedule. To say demolition took a “little” longer is an understatement. Demolition took months in a build scheduled for 8-months with weather being a very small part of the overall problem. They also failed to mention they did not know permits could have been applied for before demolition was complete, missing an opportunity to make up two months of schedule slip. Framing did start on Aug5th for less than a full workday and has not been continued since despite perfect building weather this week. I held off on responding in hopes that once building started this is where Walters Homes would excel. Unfortunately, that has not happened and things have taken a turn for the worseSince my initial complaint, twice I have caught Walters Homes deviating from the plans in an attempt to cut corners and save money. The first instance was corrected but the second was not. This is no longer a consumer complaint but a violation of consumer protection laws that will need to be settled at a later time on a different forum.
Regards,

Response:Although they signed the contract on 11/17/14 they did not move out of the home until12/27/14. We had to deal with winter conditions which made the demoltion take a little longer. couple rejections of the permit application that we had to resolve -- Issues that were not raised on other permit applications we had submitted to the same building dept. We are under construction -- starting to frame the home on Aug 5th. We will be completed at the end of Novemeber. The contract gives us 6 months to build the home from when we start. From permit that would be January 14th 2016. When you consider they did not move out of the home until 12/27/14 (1 month and 10 days) we will only be a month behind schedule. We tell people 8 to 10 months, unfortunatley there are things out of our control - -one is the weather and the other is sub contractors not keeping to their schedule (which happened with the disconnetion of the sewer line and other site work that needed to be completed) -- we lost a month over the winter due to a bad winter and we lost a month in the permitting process. We are going to still be well within the time frames in the contract.
