Habby's Transmissions & Radiators

My car was taken to Habby's Transmission for a diagnosis and when I inquired about the diagnosis fee I was told not to worry about it they would have to scan it first. I thought that was unusual but I said OK. After 4 days of ignoring my car I had to call them and was told they saw that it had an internal transmission problem. "We dont know what parts are bad inside but it will be $450 for labor and when we open it up we'll tell you the price for parts. I know these days scanners can detect whats wrong in a transmission before disassembling it but I said ok lets see whats wrong inside. The next day I received a call from a representative from Habby's Transmission to say that my estimate to repair is $2000. I said no, that's too expensive and the description of the diagnosis was very vague "parts got old and needed rebuild". When I asked how much was for the diagnosis I was told $450, I was alarmed and reiterated that I didn't want it fixed since I was quoted $450 for repairs. The representative told me that he's sorry I wasn't told the how they operate but I have to pay $450 for my car. After a long heated argument I expressed that I was disappointed and would pay with a card over the phone and come to pickup my car. While taking my card info I mentioned that I would seek legal advise and immediately I was told that they would no longer take my card I had to pay cash. When I asked if I was being denied the right to pay by card like other customers I was told "We decided how we take payment" I asked if they didn't take cards I was told "not from you". I went in office paid to get my car and to my surprise the same guy (Warren) I argued with after taking my $488 with tax , said to me "Listen im sorry we didnt explain to you better but come back and we'll give you a discount" I was taken advantage of. To add insult to injury I sent my car to another garage and they immediately told me that my Torque Converter was missing. I called Habby's to see if they had it and was told by another employee (Juan) that he saw one looking like it in the shop and I should come by and claim it. How would I know what my torque converter look like, I thought. Habby's Transmission is a rip off, they mislead, they don't state clearly their prices and they back their customers in a corner where they're helpless and then over price them. I handed my diagnosis to another company and all it stated was "Labor to remove transmission for inspection $450" nothing more! I paid $488 for nothing!!! all I got was a "i'm sorry we didnt explained better"
